Saturday Spam: BB Couture

Happy Weekend! Today I have a bit of BB Couture spam for you! I really love this brand but I don't actually own a whole heck of a lot of it, what I do own is mostly green. They make some amazing green polishes, if you love green like I do you need to check out BB Couture! I think what I love most are their glitters. BB Couture sticks out in my mind for the tiny microglitter that is in a lot of their polishes, the way it sparkles is something unique to their polishes!

To see swatches of each polish click the read more button below!

Carla is a dark purple with a gorgeous purple/pink shimmer. This is such a great Fall purple, the shimmer is pretty fab when the light hits it right! The formula is great, I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Dirty Blond is a light golden yellow. I don't normally like shades like this but this is the exception. It's an interesting golden shade, it kind of makes me want some Teddy Graham cookies (I'm strange).  The formula was okay, it was a little streaky on the first coat and required some patience to get it even in 2 coats. I did have a little problem with it leveling out also. There is some very small silver glitter in the bottle but it doesn't translate onto the nail.

Grasshopper is a yellow toned green with a ton of that microglitter that BB Couture does so well. Pictures don't do this much justice at all, the microglitter is so full of win in person. The formula is nice, a little sheer but it builds to full opacity in 3 coats. This does dry gritty and needs a couple coats of top coat to be completely smooth.

Shade
Green Goblin is a dark forest green creme. I think this might actually be the only BB Couture polish I own that has no shimmer or glitter! I don't think it's super unique but it's gorgeous, I grab for this a lot for layering. The formula is really nice, it's a bit on the sheer side on the first coat but I only need 2 coats for full opacity.

Iced Olive is an olive green with an intense golden shimmer. Love this one, are we surprised? The shimmer in this is intense both in the sun and in the shade which is always nice. The formula was good, a little bit thinner than I prefer but it was easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade
Pocahontas is a taupe brown with a subtle silver shimmer. The shimmer in this is pretty hidden but you can see it in direct sunlight. The formula was okay, I did have some problems with leveling but I think it might be a humidity problem not a polish problem. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Trim and Tassled is a purple jelly packed to the brim with tiny purple and green microglitter. I usually wear this on it's own but I can't get it to photograph well that way. On it's own I need 3 coats for mostly opaque coverage. For the photos below I have 1 coat over BB Couture Carla. If you want to see a beautiful swatch of this one on it's own check out Kellie Gonzo's blog here!

  6. I love Trim and Tassled. I always wanted to try BB couture. I just wish it was available in stores and not just online. From swatches I've seen they also make amazing blues with tons of shimmer.

  7. Hi Cynthia, I regularly use the men's line of BB Couture, and I am a man. (: We have an interesting mindset in the United States on what is considered masculine. There are people who believe that nail polish should be exclusively feminine, but I feel that nail polish shouldn't be tied down to one side of the gender line. I enjoy it immensely. (:
