Dollish Polish This Is Halloween Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Hope you all had a good weekend, can you believe it's already October? Today I have the This Is Halloween Collection from Dollish Polish for ya! Dolly started posting stock of this a couple weeks ago and I managed to snag a whole set, woohoo! The This Is Halloween Collection is inspired by a movie I'm sure we've all seen....The Nightmare Before Christmas. Gotta love a glitters with fun inspiration behind them!

To see swatches & reviews of each shade click the read more button below.

Deadly Nightshade is purple, teal, blue and black glitter in a shimmery violet base. There is a subtle pink shimmer in this that was super gorgeous out in the sun, hopefully you can see it in the last photo below. The formula was good, a bit thick so it's best for layering unless you want to thin it. I had no application issues and the glitter coverage was great! I used 1 coat over Color Club Status Update for the photos below.

Sidenote: Color Club Status Update was given to me by a friend who got it from Birchbox and didn't like the color....the label says "Status Uptade" I wonder if the bottle my friend got was just a special snowflake or if they all were mislabeled like that.

I'm The Boogieman is a ton of different shades of green glitter in a shimmery base. Love this one, it's green so we aren't too shocked about that right? Also, not related to the theme of the collection but was anyone else totally traumatized by the Boogieman movies as a kid? I used to have the worst nightmares when I was young because of them :( Anyway back to polish, the formula was a little thick but easy to work with and the glitter payoff was great! I used 1 coat over OPI Sheer Your Toys for the photos below.

P.S. the first photo is taken with a camera I don't usually use...it's making the color a bit wonky (because I fail at using the camera *sad face*) but it shows the shimmery base nicely and that's what I was trying to show you :D The other 2 photos are color accurate.

Somethings Up With Jack is black, white and bright blue glitter in a clear base. The formula wasn't too thick on this one but I did find that I had to dab it on and place the glitter where I wanted it, I blame the bar glitter for that. I used "1 coat" over OPI Espresso Your Style for the photos below.

Spectral Pup is orange and white glitter in a shimmery base that glows in the dark! I'm a bit torn on this polish...love that it's glow in the dark and I love the mix of glitter. However, I am a little disappointed because there is large white square & hex glitter that I wanted so badly to get on the nail and it all sinks to the bottom as you can see in the first 2 photos. I tried shaking the bottle and leaving it upside down and it did allow me to get a couple of the big squares out and on to my middle nail but the majority of the time it would sink again before I could get any on the brush.  I used 1 coat over OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Matte for the photos below.

Below is Spectral Pup in the dark, apologies for it being a bit blurry....I took about 50 pictures and this was the best I could get.

This Is Halloween is orange, gold, green and black glitter in a clear base. Talk about a perfectly named polish, every color I think of when I think of Halloween is in here! The formula was a bit thick but application was easy and the glitter payoff is crazy good! I used 1 coat over OPI Decades of Shades for the photos below.

Vampires Coven is red and purple glitter in a sheer black base. Gorgeous combo here, right! The formula was a little thick, but again easy to apply and it has great glitter payoff. I used 1 coat over OPI Lincoln Park After Dark for the photos below.

As soon as I saw Vampires Coven it reminded me of Lynnderella Very Pretty Vampire. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that so I put them side by side on a nail wheel. They are not dupes, the Lynnderella is in a more purple-y base and it's much chunkier. They are very similar though, I prefer Vampires Coven if I had to pick one. If you've been lemming Very Pretty Vampire this is a great and cheaper alternative if you can manage to snag a bottle.

We're Simply Meant To Be is blue, gold, black and burgundy glitter in a clear base. This one is my personal favorite of the collection, the mix of glitter is something I don't have anything similar to! The formula was again, a little thick but easy to apply. The glitter coverage was great, I used 1 coat over OPI Eiffel For This Color for the photos below.

Whats This? Whats This? is purple, orange, white, green and black glitter in a clear base. I'm loving this glitter combo too, it's another that feels very unique to me. The formula was a little thick, I did have some issues with getting a good amount of glitter on the nail with this one though...I used 2 coats over OPI Visions of Sugarplum for the photos below.

  5. I've been admiring Dollish Polish for awhile, but decided to skip on this collection. I've just been spending too much on polish, and there are some other things that are on my "must have right now!" wish list. I do love Deadly Nightshade, Vampires Coven, and I'm the Boogeyman.

BTW your glow in the dark photo is actually pretty good. I've tried these kinds of photos and it just seems impossible to me.

  11. I love Vampire's Coven. I can't wait to try it layered. Sadly my bottle of This is Halloween is nothing like yours. It took me 4 coats to get anywhere near that amount of glitter. :(

  12. I think I'll be the only one you thinks it's a bit messy glitter, the colors don't seem to fit together ..I don't know

  13. I would try giving the bottle a good shake before you apply it, sometimes the glitter will settle towards the bottom of the bottle so it's hard to get on the brush

  14. Yeah... no. That was the first thing I tried. There just isn't nearly as much glittter.

  16. These look INCREDIBLE. I can't afford indies on my budget (plus shipping to the Middle East is murderously expensive) but I would love to see these matted.

Now I'm sooooo glad I ordered them all, as usual your swatches are AMAZING!! If I had my own polish line, I'd pay you mega big bucks to swatch my polishes for promo shots, lol!

  25. I just got This is Halloween! That was my favorite of this collection but when I first went to their site they were sold out! I went back not 10 minutes later and they had restocked it!!!! I was pretty stoked. I also really like The Boogieman, but they're kind of expensive so I only got my most favorite.
