Hi guys! Today I have swatches of the JulieG Holiday Collection to share with you! If you follow Jesse's Girl Cosmetics on Facebook you might have gotten a little sneak peek of this already! For Holiday Jesse's Girl Cosmetics is putting out 5 brand new JulieG polishes, 3 gorgeous shimmers, a foil and a glitter bomb! In addition to swatches I did a few festive looks with these, hope you like them!

Big Red Bow is a bright cherry red shimmer. The formula was fantastic on this polish, it was the first one I swatched and I was completely blown away. This was nearly a one coater, if you have shorter nails than I do I really think 1 coat would be just fine for you! I used 2 coats for the photos below.
In real life this was much more shimmery, really saturated shimmery reds like this are very hard to photograph for some reason.

For a little bit of nail art with Big Red Bow I did a subtle gradient with Gift Wrapped (which you can see on it's own a few photos below). This was SO gorgeous in real life, not quite as subtle as it appears in photos!
Gift Wrapped is a pink/berry shimmer. It's a lot like Big Red Bow above, just a little more shimmery and a little more pink. The formula again, was great...not quite as opaque as Big Red Bow but I only needed 2 coats for full opacity.

Below is Gift Wrapped with Light It Up as a kind of falling glitter gradient. Light It Up is a multicolored glitter top coat, I feel like we've seen polishes like it before but it's still pretty! The formula of Light It Up was very dense, you could easily wear it on it's own if you wanted to! Both photos below are in the shade. I really like doing gradients this way, it looks like snow fall...you know, if snow was multicolored (I wish it was, that would kind of be awesome)
Ornamental is a golden foil. Great formula on this polish, it was nearly opaque in 1 coat..I ended up using 2 for full opacity.

Below is Ornamental with Light It Up in a more traditional kind of gradient. I think a look like this would be really fun for a holiday party!

Under Mistletoe is a dark shimmery green. I like this one because it's not as dark as a lot of the other green's I've seen so far for Holiday this year. The formula was good, it was a little bit sheer but I only ended up needing 2 coats. If you tend to do thin coats it will most likely be a 3 coater. Apparently I forgot to take a photo of this in the sun...sorry about that :(

My last bit of festive nail art is Under Mistletoe with Ornamental and Big Red Bow dots. I love this kind of look, it's easy and quick to do but it looks like a lot more work than it is! Both photos below are in the shade.

Great collection and love those glitter gradients
ReplyDeleteyay holiday stuffs! i'd love to see a comparison of light it up, opi's rainbow connection, nopi's rainbow in the s-kylie, deborah lippmann's happy birthday, and all the other rainbow glitter polishes. i kind of have a thing for them.
ReplyDeleteI like! XoXo
ReplyDeleteThe glitter looks so fun!
ReplyDeleteOoooh I am really loving that green!
ReplyDeleteWill have to get Gift Wrap since I am a big old fuchsia/magenta fan. But this glitter has caught my eye - odd as I don't do a lot of glitters anymore (burned out - hate grit). But I like the way you did the 'inverted falling gradient' with it. The green is nice not being as you said, as dark as many of the other greens I am seeing shown.
ReplyDeletethese are like staple holiday colors but super pretty and special looking somehow, i really like them! nice gradients too, they're one of my nail art go-tos :)
ReplyDeleteI love her polish it always leaves a nice finish . Thanks for showing the glitter, I'm kind of bored with glitter polishes but this one looks like little jewels because of the different sizes of glitter..........nice
ReplyDelete:-)
Very pretty! I don't have any JulieG's polishes yet (I do have some of the Jesse's Girls Julie G collection) but I keep eyeing them in Rite Aid!! Maybe I'll have to bite the bullet for one of these, haha! Interestingly, Gift Wrapped kind of looks like You Only Live Twice, maybe you could include it in your comparison post?
ReplyDeleteWas wondering if you've already done a post on Opi Black Spotted. I searched but didn't find anything. If you have is it worth the money they want for it on ebay?? I've looked for it everywhere.Thanks:-)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh these are gorgeous! I love holiday colors :)
ReplyDeleteNope I don't own that polish, it's not available in the US :(
ReplyDeleteThat sucks.........it kind of looks like the julie g tutorial you did. Thks anyway:-)
ReplyDeleteHow does Ornamental compare to Zoya Ziv if you have it? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm loving your nail art in this post!! :)

ReplyDeleteheck yeah, me too! Makes me feel all festive!
