Cellairis Nail Art Series #3: Winter Glow Gradient + Giveaway

Hi guys, happy Friday! Today I have my 3rd and final Cellairis phone case inspired nail art look to share with you! Along with showing you what I came up with I also have a tutorial and a giveaway to go along with it, woohoo!

The phone case this nail art was inspired by is from the Elle & Blair Collection and it's called Winter Glow- Aquamarine. I love this case because it's a gorgeous silver to blue gradient of rhinestones! I've had the Rainbow version of this case on my phone for 4 or 5 months and I love it, I'm always impressed by how few of the rhinestones have fallen off since I tend to be a little rough on my phone and it's always floating around in my purse or in my car.

Hope you all like what I came up with, to see more photos along with a tutorial and a giveaway click the read more button under the photo!

The polishes used to create the gradient are Nails Inc Floral Street, Pomegranate Nail Lacquer I Tap On Apps and Pomegranate Nail Lacquer Blue Screen Of Death.

To see how I created this mani keep on scrolling!

What you will need:

  • 2-3 polishes of your choice. I used Nails Inc Floral Street, Pomegranate Nail Lacquer I Tap On Apps and Pomegranate Nail Lacquer Blue Screen Of Death.
  • Make Up Sponge, you can use other types of sponges but for gradients this is what I prefer.
  • Top coat- to stick on your rhinestones
  • Rhinestones- I used silver, light blue and dark blue rhinestones. I found a little wheel of a bunch of colors at a local supply shop. You can find something similar on ebay!
  • A dotting tool, you could also use a toothpick...you just need this to grab the rhinestones and stick them onto the nail.

Step 1:

Paint your nails your base color, I used Nails Inc Floral Street. I chose a white base so that the blues would pop a little better! Since you'll be sponging your gradient on top of this don't worry about it being perfect.

Step 2:

Grab 2-3 polishes you want to use to create your gradient. I decided to make mine go from white to dark blue. I like to do my gradients by panting stripes of the polishes onto a makeup wedge. I slightly overlap the colors so that they easily blend when you are sponging it onto the nail.

Lightly sponge the gradient onto your nails, you can repeat this a few times until you are happy with the gradient. I wanted something subtle so I only sponged the gradient once. Once you are done with all of your nails apply a coat of top coat to further blend the colors of the gradient!

Below is what my gradient looked like before I bedazzled it!

Step 3:

Grap your rhinestones and go to town! I like to put mine on a plate or the bottom of a cup. Next to your pile of rhinestones put a little puddle of top coat, you'll need it to stick the rhinestones onto your nail.

To place the rhinestones take your dotting tool and dip it into your puddle of top coat, put a dot of the top coat onto your nail where you want the rhinestone to be. Next take your dotting tool and pick up a rhinestone, the top coat left on the dotting tool will grab it. Then you just put your rhinestone on top of the dot of top coat you put onto your nail...very easy! To make the manicure last longer you can put a layer of top coat over the entire nail once you're done putting all the rhinestones where you want them.

That's it! Doing an entire nail all crazy rhinestones is a little time consuming but I really loved the result, it was fun to have a bedazzled accent nail. When I wore it out and had the case on my phone a few people commented on how the accent nail almost matched the case!

Here is the final look!

  5. My favorite thing about winter is the fact that's it's cold and dark. Most people will dislike it because of that, but it's when the whole house is cracking under the pressure of the -40°C that hot chocolate takes all its meaning. Plus, I get to wear my favorite colors all the time : reds, golds, navy blues... <3 Thumbs up for the nail art! It's really great the gradient you managed to do with such big rhinestones, on such a small surface! This is my first comment ever on your blog (took me forever to figure out DisqUs, shame on me) but I've been reading you for a long time and you're sort of my "decision maker" : when I want to buy a OPI, China Glaze, etc. I go "What does Jen have to tell me about this one?" and then you confirm or cancel my order! Ahah! =)
