Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolor Holiday 2012 Swatches

Hi guys! Hope you all had a fantastic Halloween! I stayed in and watched a couple Halloween movies, Hocus Pocus was on ABC Family so clearly I had to watch it. I loved that movie when I was young...did you know the guy who played Thackery Binx is McGee on NCIS? I just found that out the other day and my mind is still blown, with as much as I like the movie and the tv show I can't believe I never put together that it was the same guy.

Anyway, today I have Nicole by OPI's holiday polishes to share with you, these are new shades in their Kardashian Kolors collection. This holiday collection brings us 6 new polishes, 3 shimmers and 3 glitters. I like that they feel a little different from the normal holiday colors...there is one very classic holiday shade but the rest aren't something I see when I think holidays. To see all the swatches click the read more button below!

A Gold Winter's Night is a glitter packed with gold, pink and blue glitter in various sizes/shapes. I love the mix of glitter, it's probably not something I would have picked up at a store since gold is usually a pass for me but it's nice on and I don't have anything quite like it already. You can wear this layered or on it's own. The formula was nice, not thick and very easy to apply. The glitter payoff was fantastic! I used 3 coats of A Gold Winter's Night on it's own for the photos below.

Sun

All Is Glam, All It Bright is a mix of very fine silver and red glitter. In this sun this almost looks like it leans a little towards lilac. This is my favorite of the collection, I love these kinds of glitters! The formula was really great, it was a little bit thick but I had no application issues and the glitter payoff was outstanding. I used 2 coats on it's own for the photos below. You could layer this if you wanted to but I feel like it's almost too dense for it unless you use a very very thin coat.

Deck The Dolls is a shimmery teal. This doesn't really say holidays to me but it's a gorgeous shade so who really cares haha! The formula was just okay, a bit sheer but it built nicely. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Here We Kome A-Karoling is a gorgeous shimmery dark purple. Love this, i'm a sucker for a good vampy color and this one is quite lovely. The shimmer is fairly noticeable outside in the sunlight but indoors and in low lighting it's pretty hidden. The formula was good, a bit patchy on the first coat but perfect after the second coat.

Shade

Kardashing Through The Snow is small multicolored glitter in a clear base. I see mostly gold, green, red, silver and blue glitter but I'm sure there are other colors mixed in there. The formula was good, not thick and easy to apply. The glitter payoff was pretty great, I think you'd probably need about 4 coats for full opacity though. I used 1 coat over Deck The Dolls for the photos below. Both photos are in the shade.

Keeping Up With Santa is a shimmery red. This is such a classic holiday shade, I always like it even though I own about a bazillion reds. It does remind me a lot of Zoya Elisa or OPI Danke Shiny Red but it's quite a bit darker than both. If you liked those but wanted a deeper red this is something you'll want to pick up. The formula was fantastic, nearly a 1 coater! I used 2 coats to cover up a tiny bit of visible nail line but it was hardly needed.

  1. I bought Kardashing Through the Snow at my local Meijer and it was on clearance! The whole collection was, it really shocked me. It does take 4 coats to wear on it's own. After seeing your swatches I wish I picked up the whole collection, but none of them wow'ed me in the store.

  5. Well, nothing really jumps out and says Must have it... but, I know me and by the end on the month I'll be crying in my polish and in a frantic search for that last bottle to complete my collection, I absolutely love glitters and you can never have too many, can you? A Gold Winter's Night is such a unique glitter that I will make that my first purchase and I love the vampy purple with the subtle shimmer so that will be number 2. That blue is really beautiful too, certainly I don't already have that EXACT shade now do I? See? Already I've gone from meh, to choosing 3 colors.

  10. Nothing here in this Kollection that is killing me not to have. Glad for that as I am not a NOPI fan - hate the bottle - don't like if there is a shade I really like that I can never find it. So far my fav holiday collection is Zoya's Ornate hands down.

  11. Can you do a comparison between OPI pamplona purple and OPI miami beat. I have the miami beat and I saw your swatch of pamplona purple. They both look like the same shade of purple. Thanks!

  12. I agree. I hate the nicole brush and the polish isn't that great.

  22. I totally just realized that about the guy in Hocus Pocus/NCIS recently too! So funny. That's a must-watch at Halloween for us too. :) Love the purple in this collection!

  23. I really like the first two. They look different than everything I have, which isn't easy these days. It's interesting how the pink shows up so much on the gold one when it's in the sun.

  24. I have Deck The Dolls. I love the color but as you said, I found the consistency to be too thin and sheer for my liking.

  25. Deck the Dolls -- "This doesn't really say holidays to me"
Could this be a "Hanukkah Blue"?? (Or else just a brilliant blue sky on a wintry day.)

  26. it definitely could be good for either!
