Hi guys! Today I have 3 of the 4 polishes from the Breaking Dawn 2 Collection Essence just recently released. I had heard a little bit about this collection but didn't expect to find it around here, I don't even remember the last time I found a new Essence LE display at Ulta. I was a bit shocked when I walked into Ulta last week and found the display for this collection completely untouched. I'm not a huge Twilight fan but these were too pretty to pass up! The 4th polish that I don't have was a gold, the kind of gold that does not look good on me so it stayed at Ulta. You can see a great swatch of it on
Parokeets if you're interested in what it looks like.

Alice Had AVision-Again is a black based purple. I am in love with the shimmer these polishes have, it's flecked and almost multicolored looking while being predominately purple. This looks very lit from within out in the sun and I also really enjoy how it looks in the shade, you get to see the depth the polish has in lower lighting! The formula was good, a bit sheer on the first coat but perfect with 2 coats.

Edward's Love is a black base with flecks of silver shimmer. Out of the 3 this is the most boring of the 3 but it's still pretty. For $1.99 or whatever insanely cheap price Essence goes for I am a fan. I much prefer how this looked in the shade, it had a little bit of a golden tone to the shimmer that came out in that kind of lighting. The formula wasn't my favorite, it was thick and a little hard to work with. Thinner will be my friend if I decide to wear this again. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Jacob's Protection is a black base with brilliant blue flecked shimmer. This is my favorite of the bunch, I love how it had little flashes of green shimmer depending on the angle of my hand. The formula was troublesome, very thick and one that will most definitely need thinner to be workable next time I wear it. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

ReplyDeleteI have swatches of these going up in about an hour! :) I bought the same ones as you but weirdly got the gold one for review (without them knowing which ones I already had...?) and I hated the gold one so you chose well! The gold is horribly frosty and streaky as hell.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is Alice Had a Vision Again I think! They're all really pretty.
I saw these in our local Target, I might have been tempted if they were twilight without being movie specific but meh
ReplyDeleteI've only picked the Alice had a vision again and Edward's love, mine weren't thick at all! They really applied nicely. I don't find it boring, though
ReplyDeleteI picked all but the gold up too. Can't wait to wear them!
ReplyDeletewant these so bad but i dont have an ulta near by and they arent selling them online
ReplyDeleteI almost bought the purple one, until I realized that I will probably never wear a dark purple.
ReplyDeleteWhoa whoa whoa... these are available over here?!? I am in the middle of an international swap for them!! LMAO! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteI have these and they smell really bad, like toxic and not like the normal nail polish smell. Anyone else experience that?
ReplyDeleteI love the "Alice Had AVision-Again".
ReplyDeleteFor $1.99, why the heck not! :)
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty, I got the same 3!
ReplyDeleteI love the tiny glitters in the background, shame we don't have much sun in the UK! Like Alice best, brilliant blog thanks
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice them smelling any worse than normal polish but I think I'm so used to it that I only notice when things smell really awful, like Kleancolor lol
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteNice! XoXo
ReplyDeleteSo so so jealous! These are so pretty ... I don't think I can get Essence here, unless I get it shipped?
ReplyDeleteoh wow, love them! i always see the movies on my bday (dec 1) so i def will be getting them!! i like jacobs protection, very lovely!
ReplyDeletePretty pretty pretty!
ReplyDeleteI picked these up today but also avoided the gold, i'm just too fair skinned for golds to work unless for details or accent nails.
