Saturday Spam: Random Swatch Spam!

Hi guys! Happy weekend :D Today I have a spam post for you!! I feel like it's been a while since I did a Saturday Spam, I'm not sure if it actually has been but it feels like it. Today's spam is a random assortment of goodies, mostly combos I've tried while swatching big collections or things I've worn throughout the week when I'm not swatching.

To see all the spam click the read more button below!

Where to buy each polish will be at the very end of the post!

Candeo Colors Zef is black, blue and pink matte glitter in a clear base. I was lemming this polish forever, I finally got my paws on it and now I'm kinda like meh about it...hate when that happens. I was most excited about that pink square glitter and it ended up being near impossible to get out of the bottle :( The formula wasn't great...it was thick and will definitely benefit from thinner if I wear it again. The glitter payoff was nice, I used 1 coat over City Color London for the photos below.

Shade

City Color London is a blue creme. This reminds me a bit of Essie Mesmerize....not sure how close they are but I'm guessing they are similar. This was a gift from my love Kirsten (Glitta Gloves), she knows me well...I was like :O when I unwrapped this! The formula was really nice, I used 2 coats for the photos below. .

Color Club Cherubic is a tan/nude holo. *dead* this is awesome, I still need to get the rest of the Halo Hues Collection (this is the only one I've gotten so far). The formula was great, this was a breeze to apply...no need for a special base coat. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Contrary Polish Anna Maria is a dusty blue/green with a golden/green shimmer. Love this as you probably know if you saw my post yesterday of my 2012 Indie Favorites! The formula was nice, a little thick but easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade
Contrary Polish Creeping Moss is brown with purple/golden shimmer. This polish is the reason I checked out Contrary Polish, I saw a swatch somewhere and fell in love. I really love the subtle shimmer, it's much better in real life! The formula was nice on this one also, again a little thick but very easy to apply. I used 2 coats.

Shade

Happy Hands Flowers On The Highway is a multicolored matte glitter explosion!! I adore this color combo, and it's matte glitter...clearly I am a fan. The formula was difficult, it was very thick and hard to apply. It's like it's too glitter dense, all the glitter bunches up on the brush and doesn't want to spread nicely over the nail. Thinner did help a little but not very much. I used 1 coat over Nicole by OPI Am I Making Myself Claire? I forgive the formula of this because the glitter combo is so beautiful.

Lime Crime Crema De Limon is a pastel yellow creme. I was very hesitant about buying from this brand because of things I've heard about them, I held out for a long time but finally my self control went out the window and I picked up a couple. I don't really love this shade on me, I'm pretty pale to begin with and this somehow makes me look even more pale and ghostly. The formula was good, a bit thick and slightly streaky but for a pastel yellow it was good. I used 2 coats on some nails and 3 on others to even it out.

Models Own Dancing Queen is gold, blue and green glitter in a clear base. There is a lot going on in here, everything from shard glitter to hex glitter. I don't love this like I thought I would, the formula was hard to work with (thick and goopy) and it smelled AWFUL. I used 1 coat over Nicole by OPI Alex By The Books for the photos below, both photos are in the shade.

Models Own Disco Inferno is gold, green and orangey glitter in a clear base. This is pretty much the same as Dancing Queen, just different colors. I had the same formula issues with this one but I didn't think it smelled quite as bad as Dancing Queen did. I used 1 coat over Nicole by OPI Basking In Gloria for the photos below, both photos are in the shade.

Nail Pattern Boldness Boop-Oop-A-Dupe is a multichomatic shimmery top coat. This is a Clarins 230 dupe, it flashes red, orange, gold and green. I love this and every single dupe I have of it haha! I used 2 coats over Zoya Pinta for the photos below. First 2 photos are in the shade and the 3rd is in regular lighting inside my house...the green really shines in that light!

my fingers look really weird at this angle

Ninja Polish Caribbean Reef is blue and holographic glitter in a clear base. This is super opaque, one that you could easily wear on it's own in 2-3 coats. This is so much better in real life, photos don't do justice to the sparkle! I used 1 coat over a england Lady of Shalott for the photos below.

Shade

Whimsical Ideas by Pam Just Add Milk is coppery brown glitter in a sheer tan base. For me the base was a little too sheer to wear on it's own but I've seen other swatches that way and I think it looks great if you have shorter nails than I do. I used 2 coats over Nicole by OPI My Jay Or The Highway, it was the closest thing I could find the base color of Just Add Milk!

Shade

Whimsical Ideas by Pam Peppermint Schtick is various sizes of red and white glitter in a clear base. Love this combo, perfect name for it too! I really like how the white glitter in a little bit sheer so you can see glitter underneath it! The formula was nice, I do wish there was more big red hex glitter but I really loved how this ended up looking I used 2 coats over Nicole by OPI Stand By Your Manny for the photos below.

  2. Love Saturday spam! All of your combos are gorgeous. My favorite is Happy Hands Flowers on the Highway but too bad about the formula.

  3. Does "Just Add Milk" have curling glitter issues? Kind of looks like it :S

  4. nope, it's reflective...it's not actually curling

  5. Good luck tracking down the rest of the Color Club Halo Hues - they have been sold out everywhere retail and etailers for a good 2 months. Secondary market prices I have seen are both gouging as well as maybe like $7-$9/bottle (way over the retail but least not a $99 for all 6 shades like I have seen).

  9. I love the few Whimsical Ideas by Pam polishes I have gotten. I wear Just Add Milk without layering and it looks great!

Where do you get the Nail Pattern Boldness?

  10. I own Happy Hands Flowers on the Highway!! It is so gorgeous I thought, esp, layered over a more neutral color (like OPI Berlin There Done That) or my fave is over a nice bright yellow! It's a springtime explosion. But yes you are right that the formula is so thick and goopy, which is a disappointment. I do like that this means the bottle is glitter packed, but it is tough to spread out on the nail. Any tips, as your swatches look great - ?! Oh, and Just Add Milk has me jonesing for Cookie Crisp cereal =)

  11. I just got as little glitter as I could on the nail and tried to spread the glitter around....it was a test of patience but worth it!

  13. Your blog is super amazing! Your swatches are realty good and your nails so polish! Models own is a desappointed polish to me. They have amazing colors but the formula is terrible, stinky and the price just is not right, expensive. Just need try holo CC and Ninja Polish! They are beautiful! Congrats!!!

  19. good to know, thanks! how much did the thinner help, and did it affect the glitter at all (in an undesirable way, I mean)? I am thinking of trying some, b/c boy is this polish goopey (but very lovely). =)

  21. I just got my bottle of Boop-Oop-A-Dupe in the mail the other day (bought due to your swatches and recommendation) and I absolutely love it! I read your blog religiously every day, and you haven't steered me wrong yet! :)

  23. At first I could only see the red shimmer and I was a bit disappointed, but the next day I really saw the green shimmery side come out in different light! I have it on over some unnamed purple polish from PacSun right now and it looks awesome, and I can't wait to try it over other colors :)

  24. You can get Nail Pattern Boldness on llarowe.com :) It seems she forgot to link that one at the end of the post, but that's where I got mine! Google is your friend, if you search the name you can usually find somewhere to buy it :)
