Hare Afterglow & Rad Cloud

Happy Friday! Anyone have fun plans for this weekend? It's a 3 day weekend for me so I've been thinking about going down to San Diego or up to Santa Barabara for a day trip...I haven't decided yet!

Today I have 2 Hare polishes to share with you! If you read my last Hare post you might have seen at the bottom where I said that while I was looking up the prices I ended up buying 2 more bottles, well these are those 2 polishes!

Afterglow is a dark blue base with orange and purple hex glitter and small purple glitter. The formula on my bottle was very thick so I decided to layer it (I was too lazy to thin it at the time lol). Afterglow is very opaque on it's own and definitely does not need undies! I used 1 coat over American Apparel Passport Blue for the photos below!
 

Shade

Rad Cloud is a milky pink base packed with purple, green, orange and pink glitter in various sizes and shapes. The formula again was pretty thick, I decided to wear this on it's own though. I only needed 2 coats for full opacity! Because of the thickness of my bottle application was a little tricky, for polishes like this I would recommend making sure your first coat is almost completely dry before doing the second coat. I didn't do that at first and it was a mess, the 2nd coat was dragging off the 1st coat of polish.  I'm pretty sure this will be much better when I get around to thinning it next time I grab for it!

Shade

Lac Attack Pretty In Punk & Bad Moon Rising

Hi guys! Today I have 2 gorgeous matte glitters from Lac Attack to share with you guys!  I love matte glitters so much, I kind of had my fill of them until I got these in the mail and then the love affair started again haha!

Bad Moon Rising is bright blue, green and red matte glitter in a clear base. I really like this color combo, I feel like it can look really great over a big variety of colors. I decided to layer it over Color Club By Design for this post but since I took these photos I've worn it over a neon and loved it that way also. I did find that it was a little hard to get a good amount of glitter onto the nail but after 2 coats I was more than satisfied with how it looked! I used 2 coats of Bad Moon Rising over Color Club By Design for the photos below.

Pretty In Punk is blue, purple, pink, and black matte glitter  in a clear base. Mine looks like it also has some small white glitter in there but it's not mentioned in the description of this on the Lac Attack site! This reminds me of some of the other matte glitters I have but the addition of the big purple and black hex glitter makes it special! I only wish that I had been able to get more of that black hex glitter onto my nails, it was elusive haha! I used 2 coats of Pretty In Punk over Color Club Muse-ical for the photos below.

Nubar Purple Beach

Hi guys! Today I have another duochrome manicure for ya, it's Nubar Purple Beach! I was feeling very duochrome-y for some reason this weekend, this is what I had on my nails on Saturday!  Back when I first heard about Nubar a couple years ago I remember asking on Twitter what polishes I should check out from them and this was one of the suggestions. I've worn this quite a few times but apparently I've never showed it here! I think this could very well be one of the first duochromes I ever bought...back then I didn't even know magical color shifting polishes like this existed haha!

Purple Beach has a gorgeous and very pronounced shift from green to purple, there is also a bit of a gold shift in there depending on the angle of your nails. The formula is good but a bit on the sheer side like most duochromes. I used 3 coats for the photos below, all photos are in the shade!

NOTD: Multichrome Water Marble

Hi guys, hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was nice! Did everyone watch the True Blood finale last night? I was kind of bored this season but the finale made up for it...especially the last 15 or so minutes!

Today I have my NOTD (Nail Of The Day) to share with you guys. This will actually probably end up being my nails for the whole week, I'm a bit obsessed with it...I don't want to remove this any time soon! A long time ago I saw a multichromtic water marble on another blog, I think it was a Brazilian blog. I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the blog or else I would link it for you...her water marble was amazing! For my base color I used Nails Inc Black Taxi which is just a black creme. The marbling is Ozotic 505, Ozotic 507, Ozotic 521 & Ozotic 502. I tried to get photos of this in several different kinds of lighting since it was such a chameleon!

Sun

Of course I hade to mattify this also with a coat of Essie Matte About You...I couldn't resist. I ended up putting regular top coat back on since I prefer this manicure shiny but it looks pretty awesome matte also!

Saturday Spam: American Apparel

Hi guys, hope you're all having a good weekend so far! Today I have a bit of American Apparel spam for ya! Slowly but surely I'm getting through my list of polishes I've never showed here on The PolishAholic!

American Apparel was one of the first brands I remember hauling from back when I started blogging, I think that was actually the last time I bought any of their polish too. Since I last bought from them about 2 years ago they've started coming out with more than just creme polishes, they have glitters, metallics and jellies now. I keep meaning to check out their new polishes but then I go on their website to look up info for posts like this and am welcomed with ads featuring topless girls painting their nails and am reminded why I don't love to buy from the brand anymore. Anyway, I do love the cremes I have, they were great basics for when I was starting out!

More Fall 2012 Comparisons!

Hi guys! Happy Friday! Today I have 3 more comparisons to show you guys for some Fall 2012 polishes. I still have more on my list but this was all I had time to do this past weekend...hopefully I'll be able to get to more of the ones you guys have asked for soon!

First up is Color Club In the Limelight vs Deborah Lippmann I Know What Boys Like. These are very close, the Deborah Lippmann polish is a couple shades darker but I don't think you  need both especially given the price tag of the Deborah Lippmann polish. I used 2 coats of each polish for the photo below. The formula of the Deborah Lippmann polish was about a thousand times better for what it's worth. 

Next up is Color Club Personal Stylist vs China Glaze Want My Bawdy. These are pretty much dead on, you definitely don't need both. Formula wise they were again, pretty much the same...I needed 3 coats for each.

Shade

Last up is Jessica Gingersnap vs. OPI Warm and Fozzie vs Jessica Pumpkin Delight. No dupes here, Gingernap and Warm & Fozzie are the closest color wise but the base color of Warm & Fozzie is darker and more brown. I used 3 coats of each polish for the photos below. Both photos are in the shade

 

Orly Holiday 2012 Naughty Or Nice Collection: My Picks!

Hi guys! Today I have my very first Holiday 2012 polishes to share with you, it's Orly's Naughty or Nice Collection. I thought it was crazy to find a Halloween Collection in July...well I think finding a Holiday display in August takes the cake for early releases now haha! When I walked into my favorite store last week the guy looked at me and laughed, then pointed to this display and said Holiday 2012 already...I think he was also amused that they had gotten it so early.

I ended up buying half of the Naughty or Nice Collection, the other 3 just didn't do anything for me so they stayed at the store. The other 3 polishes are a red creme (Unlawful), a red shimmer (Torrid) and a silvery gold glitter (Halo), you can see a better look at those 3 in promo shots on this blog if you're interested in them! The three polishes I did up bringing home are pretty awesome, I was on the fence about one of them the whole time I was in the store because it didn't look special in the store's lighting but oh my gosh, I am so glad I got it! I'll tell you which one it is later in the post!

Pixi Fall 2012 Nail Polish Swatches!

Hi guys! Guess what tonight is? It's the first time the food trucks are back in the area since the end of June! The Orange County Fair was going on for the last month so the trucks have been gone. I am literally so excited, it's kind of sad to be this excited over food that comes off of a truck haha!

Today I have 3 gorgeous polishes from Pixi for Fall 2012 to show you!  I got these in the mail the other day and couldn't believe how gorgeous they were! I love Fall nail polish, it seems like we get the prettiest shimmers for this season!

Orly Pretty In Pink Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have Orly's Pretty In Pink Collection to share with you! This collection is Orly's Breast Cancer Awareness Collection for 2012. I came across these last week at my local beauty supply and couldn't resist the pretty glitter for a good cause! I believe 2 of these are part of the Flash Glam FX Collection and 1 is exclusive to this mini collection.  All 3 polishes when bought with this collection also come with a little pink ribbon charm that you can take off and clip onto whatever you want, I have a photo of it at the end of the post if you're interested in seeing it!

Jessica Fall 2012 Spicy Dream Collection Swatches

Sally Hansen Insta Dri: In A Flurry

Hi guys! Today I have a new Sally Hansen Insta Dri polish for Fall 2012 to show you called In A Flurry! I saw this a few weeks ago over on Scrangie's blog and went into full polish hunt mode to find it. I don't really look at the Insta Dri displays when I see them...seems like the last few have been a big snoozefest but the display for Fall 2012 was pretty awesome, I only ended up getting In A Flurry and 1 other but I seriously had to restrain myself from not getting 2 or 3 others also!

In A Flurry has a blackened base packed with shimmer! The colors I mostly saw were green, purple and gold.  In the bottle this looked to have some duochrome but I couldn't see it on the nail. The formula was really nice, I was expecting it to be thick for some reason but it was on the thinner side and it flowed nicely onto the nail. I used 3 coats for full opacity.

While I do love this it didn't live up to being as fantastical as I thought it would be, still glad I tracked it down though. All photos below are in the shade.

Sally Hansen Insta Dri is available at most drugstores like Rite Aid, CVS and Walgreens. I seriously cannot remember where I ended up finding this though...I think it might have been Bed, Bath & Beyond!

Butter London Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Hope you're having a good day so far, I'm pretty exhausted today! Last night I went to see Paramore, I don't know how the heck I ever managed to go to 2 or 3 concerts a week a few years ago. I feel like I've been hit by a truck haha...I think this means I'm getting old :(

Today I have the gorgeous new Butter London Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection to share with you guys. I really love the theme of this collection, it's based off of the textures featured on the catwalk for this season. All I know here is if you can take a texture and translate it into a holographic nail polish I am a fan, I wish everyone translated things into rainbow-y goodness like that. Saturday Spam: Essie

Happy Weekend! Today I have a helping of Essie spam for ya! Essie is a brand that I didn't have any interest in until a couple years ago so I don't have a ton of them. For the longest time they made the most boring polishes, all pinks and whites...very bridal and work appropriate. It wasn't until they released the Summer 2010 collection with Pretty Edgy in it that I even looked twice at their displays. Since then I've become a big old fan of their polish, mostly new polishes but I do have some older gems in my stash that are also in this post!

Orly Flash Glam FX Collection Swatches!

Hi guys, happy Friday! Today I have 6 more polishes from Orly's Flash Glam FX Collection to show you. In total there are 22 glitters in this collection! I picked up the first 5 a while back, you can see them here if you missed that previous post. I've been waiting for the rest of the glitters to be in an actual store so I could see them in person before buying so it was a nice surprise to find them at a local place last week.

I ended up buying 6 more, the rest of the glitters were pretty but they just didn't scream buy me. I love glitter but I think most of what I've wanted to see this past year has already been done by indie brands so I didn't *need* as many of these Orly's. OPI Fall 2012 Germany Collection Swatches!

Hi guys! Today I have OPI's Fall 2012 Germany Collection to show you! Germany is one of the places on my bucket list to visit so I was all woohoo when OPI announced this collection! Waaaaay back in the stone age when my Dad was a kid he lived in Germany, my Grandpa was in the Air Force and stationed there for a while. He won't tell me about most of the time he spent there but sometimes I manage to get a good story out of my Aunt about what a terror my Dad was back then (it makes me happy I'm an only child haha)! Then when my Dad got a little older and he joined the Air Force himself he ended up stationed there too, too bad that was pre-Jen :(

Anyway, I love when OPI does collections themed after places...mostly because the names as especially funny with these kinds of collections. Another thing on my bucket list: sit in whatever kind of meeting OPI has when they name collections, I think that would be so fun! Essence Colour & Go: Ultimate Pink, Stuck On You & Modern Romance!

Morning! Today I have 3 polishes from the re-vamped Essence Colour & Go line to show you guys! Essence has totally overhauled the bottle design and brush for these polishes! The new bottles are a bit bigger and much more attractive, in my opinion. They also feature a new, wider brush! I'll have photos of both the new bottle and the new brush below if you want to check them out!

Nicole by OPI Fall 2012 Target Exclusives

Hi guys! Today I have 5 brand new Nicole by OPI polishes to share with you! These will be exclusive to Target stores for Fall 2012! I saw these at my local store a couple weeks ago and kind of went meh. The crappy lighting in their stores really does nothing for these! Our of the 5 shades 3 of them are pretty incredible, looking back now I can't believe I wasn't more crazy about them when I saw them in the store!

OPI Pink of Hearts 2012 Swatches & Review

HI guys! Hope you all had a good weekend! Today I have OPI's 2012 Pink of Hearts duo to share with you! I went to my local beauty supply on Friday to pick up a couple of the Halloween mini sets for another blogger and got to chatting with the owner of the shop. I always love stopping in there, the man who owns it is incredibly nice, we always talk nail polish. He makes me feel normal because he fangirls over new collections almost as much as I do haha! I ended up picking up what I went for along with some more of the Orly Flash Glam FX Collection polishes which you'll see soon woohoo!

When I was getting ready to pay the owner came out of the back with this duo in his hands asking if I wanted it also. Of course I was like heck yeah I want it! I always love what OPI does for Breast Cancer Awareness every year. I'm not a huge fan of pink nail polish but I am a fan of supporting good causes so I always go out and buy all the pink polishes that come out for BCA! Hare Polish Swatches!

Happy Friday! Anyone have fun plans this weekend? I'm thinking about going to the OC Fair this weekend. I need my yearly fill of people watching and a fried oreo haha. I heard that this year one of the food vendors at the fair is serving fried cereal. It never ceases to amaze me what people try to fry...I kind of can't wait until next year to see what the new weird thing is.

Today I have some Hare polish to share with you guys, yay! Hare was one of the first indie brands I ever heard of or bought from. For the longest time I missed out on the restocks, then Nikole took a long break from making polish but my persistence paid off and I was finally able to add a couple more of these beautiful polishes to my collection!

OPI Halloween 2012 So So Skullicious Mini Set Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have my first bit of Halloween 2012 goodies, I can't believe I managed to find these so early. I walked into my local beauty supply about a week and a half ago and was shocked to see these out. The owner of the place and I even had a conversation about how it was odd that they got them in July haha!

OPI's So So Skullicious mini pack for this Halloween is an awesome Dia De Los Muertos inspired set. At first I wasn't going to pick this set up but the awesome packaging and nail decals sold me....I think this makes me a sucker haha! I have photos of the packaging and the cute decals at the end of the post for those of you who want to see that!

Jade Holographics!

Hi guys! Can you believe it's already August? Where the heck is time going?!? Today I have some awesome Jade holographic polishes to share with you! Before these were available on Llarowe & Ninja Polish I did a group order with some other great ladies and waited for what felt like an eternity to get them. When they finally arrived I almost died at the gorgeousness of them! Now that they are more easily available my wallet is weeping, I need them ALL...I seriously need holo hoarder anonymous or something.
