Hi guys! Today I have a new collection from China Glaze called Glitz Bitz 'n Pieces to share with you. I was at my local beauty supply last week stocking upon nail polish remover and they had just gotten these in and were putting out the display. I haven't heard a whole heck of a lot about these so I wandered over to check them out. I saw black glitter and bought all of them based solely on that lol! I'm beginning to think I have a glitter problem, pretty much anything with black glitter, square glitter or circular glitter has to come home with me. It's getting out of control. Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Formula wise all 6 polishes in this collection were the same. I found them to be a little thick and chunky but they are SO glitter dense that I don't think there is any way around that. Despite the chunkiness I had no application issues and the glitter payoff was fantastic. I used CND Air Dry as a top coat over each polish for the photos below, all photos in this post are in the shade.
Bling It On is black and purple glitter in a clear base. The purple glitter tends to lean more towards blue (to my eyes) most of the time, it's really walking that line. I used 1 coat over Nicole by OPI Spring Break for the photos below.
Glitz 'N Pieces is black and silver glitter in a clear base. This was the first one I picked up off the display that sold me on it. I used 1 coat over an unnamed purple creme from City Color for the photos below.
Graffiti Glitter is emerald green and black glitter in a clear base. This is one of my favorites in the collection, the green glitter is gorgeous and perfect for 2013 since emerald is the Pantone color of the year. I used 1 coat over Zoya Neely for the photos below.
Mosaic Madness is sapphire blue and black glitter in a clear base. This is my overall favorite of the collection, blue and black together is a great combo. The shade of blue glitter in here makes it especially stunning. I used 1 coat over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the photos below.
Razzle Me, Dazzle Me is pale pink and black glitter in a clear base. I really like the pink in here, it tends to look different depending on the lighting. In some light it almost looked like a soft pinky copper. I used 1 coat over Zoya Carey for the photos below.
Scattered & Tattered is red and black glitter in a clear base. In person the red glitter was a bit brighter, I feel like my camera was washing it out a little bit. I used 1 coat over Nicole by OPI My Lifesaver for the photos below.
Overall I really like this collection, I feel like I've been hard on China Glaze lately but this collection reminds me why they are one of my favorite brands. If you don't like bar glitter these will probably be a pass for you but if you don't mind it these are wonderful. The mix of glitter is great, I think China Glaze nailed it with the proportion of colored glitter and black glitter. I was a little worried after Whirled Away from the Cirque du Soleil Collection was such a mess but these are very different from that. My picks are Mosaic Madness and Graffiti Glitter...really though all 6 are great and I'm happy to add them all to my collection.
I believe this collection is a February release for places like Sally Beauty Supply, but you may luck out and find them out sooner like I did! I'm guessing that the etailers might already have these also or will be getting them any day since they usually get collections around the same time as my local place.

Why couldn't Whirled Away resemble these more?!?! These are all awesome. Thanks for the swatches!
ReplyDeleteWow! These look GORGEOUS! Transdesign has them and I purchased them all. You had me sold with black glitter. Great Swatches! :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty but I realy don't like the long black strings in them :(
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for these to come to stores. I gave Cirque du Soleil collection a pass, but I'll be taking Scattered & Tattered and Glitz 'N Pieces home with me.
ReplyDeleteThese look like fun. I really like Graffiti Glitter and Scattered and Tattered, i think i'll pick them up.
ReplyDeleteI also have a thing for black glitter!!! Mosaic Madness and Graffiti Glitter are my favorites!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little underwhelmed, but I'll probably pick up the emerald one eventually. It's a little repetitive.
ReplyDeleteRazzle Me, Dazzle Me is really pretty, Love your use of color with the bases.
ReplyDeleteThese look very pretty! I am not a huge glitter fan but I might have to try and grab one of these!
ReplyDeleteI've seen a couple of swatches on other blogs, but these are the first swatches I've seen that are any good, lol. I most definitely want the silver and the blue. I may get the purple too. I actually like them all, but I'll only get the rest if I can get them on clearance at Sally's.
ReplyDeleteAnd can I just say how happy I am to see gigantic hexes? Love! :D
I really like your swatches of this! I had seen it before on another blog and the swatches really didn't sell me - but THESE sell me. The last photo is stunning too, the glitter and the base reminds me of cherry blossoms!
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to find a review of this collection but haven't had any luck so I'm happy to see your review! But bar glitter! *sigh* My polish arch-nemesis. I will definitely be passing on this collection.
ReplyDeleteOmg thanks so much for the swatches! I saw these at my local beauty supply about a week ago, and I wasn't sure whether to buy them cos I didn't see your swatches of it yet~ Glad I didn't cos bar glitter isn't my cup of tea! Oh by the way, are you going to swatch the avant garden collection? O.o
ReplyDeleteThese are so great. I like bar glitter. These remind me of indies - which is pretty cool of China Glaze:) Awesome photos as usual!
ReplyDeleteScattered & Tattered reminds me of cherry blossom in old chinese ink paintings. Really lovely!
ReplyDeleteI've said this time and time again, when CG jumps on a trend the first batch is blah but every batch after the first one is amazing! I thought that with their crackles and now I'm thinking the same with these indie-inspired glitter polishes. With all that said, I've got a new collection to hunt down ;) GREAT pics and I loved your honesty in the beginning regarding your black glitter weakness, lol! oxo
ReplyDeleteOoh - Graffiti Glitter reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream. :) Pretty!
ReplyDeleteI think part of what makes these work so well is the base you've chosen with each to really bring out the glitter.
ReplyDeleteI especially love Scattered and Tattered because the way you have it paired here reminds me of the Arizona tea that has a green container and cherry blossoms, and the reminder of cherry blossoms and spring and my time in Japan is very special to me. So I absolutely need this one, and I need to do it the way you did it. I just have to figure out if I still have a green in the pastel family; otherwise, more will be out this spring, so I'm not worried.
I also like the way you layered Mosaic Madness and Graffiti Glitter; they are my other two favorites in the collection! You bring the tones out well!
Eeep! I LOVE these!
ReplyDeleteI love these. Very cool.
ReplyDeletethank you! You're right about Scattered and Tattered, I didn't even realize it was the same color scheme...but you're right, that's probably why a few people have commented about that one looking like cherry blossoms! So glad you like my combos, I tried out a bunch before settling on which ones to use!
ReplyDeleteI thought the exact same thing!!! Her mani is so beautiful. I'm definitely buying Scattered & Tattered to match with light blue polishes. :)
ReplyDeleteneed. all.
ReplyDeleteFantastic Collection!!!
ReplyDeleteThe grey combination is wonderful <3
ReplyDeleteYour swatches are so nice. Scattered and Tattered would be so nice over a milky lavender. I never tend to layer my polishes, but I think I need to start doing it!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful. I'm really loving Scattered & Tattered and Razzle Me, Dazzle Me. You always pick the most perfect undies!! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't even say anything bad about any of these. I'm head over heels! Now to patiently wait until these come out!
ReplyDeleteThey look good! Very good for big brand glitters?
ReplyDeleteThese look pretty cool. I'm normally not a fan of bar glitter when layered over a visible base colour, but the colours you chose are very nice :D I love glitter and love CG, so I'll probably end up buying all of them, especially since you mentioned application was better than the Cirque collection. I bought all of those glitters too because they're awesome, just don't wear them as much as I'd like because they're rather fidgety to apply. Love that these have that indie feel without costing $15+/bottle. Helps me rationalize my glitter addiction xD
ReplyDeleteGreat review! Thanks for showing these off!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love glitter and CG, I think I will have to pass since every polish has bar glitter and I am not a huge fan of bar glitter.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised with myself but I really like these! xx
ReplyDeleteI'm so desappointed ! I hate bar glitter but I love all the shades , boohoo!
ReplyDeleteI was so hoping these wouldn't have bar glitter. The colors are so beautiful, but bar glitter makes me so irrationally angry that I'll have to pass :(
ReplyDeleteI... yeah... I have a problem with China Glaze in that I love them super hardcore and Imma be needing these. Sigh. Dammit.
ReplyDeletePerfeitos!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I liked bar glitter, just look at the size of those bars! They're gorgeous on others, but not for me. Great colors you paired them with!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! I would not have given it a second look without the blue underneath.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I'm not moved by these, I know, blasphemy! They to reminds me of indies though, which is pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI hate bar glitter but I love, love, LOVE black glitter! I think I may be weak & have to get one or two...or three.
ReplyDeleteThis collection is great, love how they look like indies- I rushed over to Transdesign to get them, no self control whatsoever, lol! Great swatches!
ReplyDeleteOMG i can't wait! The green and the red one are my favorites!
ReplyDeleteHey Jen, what are some of your tips for applying glitter top coat? I can't seem to get the glitter to disperse evenly. When I'm doing a single coat, most of the glitter deposits near the cuticle, but the tip of the nail ends up almost glitter-less.
ReplyDeleteyou could try dabbing it on instead of applying it like a regular polish, that's what I usually do with difficult glitters!
ReplyDeleteThey're all so similar but I need every single one! Amazing!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have got to get those!
ReplyDeleteOh! It's pretty! I think I need to pick up some more hours at work to get these...
ReplyDeleteSince we're talking dabbing, there's a great video here that shows you how to do it. :)
ReplyDeletehttp://youtu.be/2_uNNVx4x6g
I can honestly say that I didn't like any of them!
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome! Looks like Connect the dots has met its match..or matches. I could get these or the sephora version.
ReplyDeleteI was so excited for these with the original press release. When I found out they had black glitter, it was all over.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips, you guys! That video was very helpful :)
ReplyDeleteYour swatches are ALWAYS AMAZING! I am attributing you with turning me into a "Polish Aholic". I'm an OC girl too. Can you give out info on your favorite beauty supply stores? I've been going to Imperial in Westminster and have been saving money with his prices, but then again I buy tons. Thank you so much for any info and your great blog!
ReplyDeleteYour swatches are ALWAYS AMAZING! I'm an OC girl too. Can you share your local beauty supply store favorites? I've been going to Imperial in Westminister.
ReplyDeleteThe pinkish one does remind me of a Cherry blossom tree over that NOPI My Lifesaver. You always pick the best underwear for glitters!
ReplyDeleteOmg I just tried that dabbing method in the video, and the results were awesome! Much better than what I was doing before. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteugh... not EVERY polish needs bar glitter :'(
ReplyDeleteI just bought the whole collection!!!!
