Jessica Spring 2013 It's A Girl Thing Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Before I get into today's post I just wanted to mention that I haven't really slept since Monday so if there are any random or weird typos that's why haha! I don't know what's been up with my body lately, I'm so tired all day then I lay down to go to bed and have so much anxiety and stress about my job that I just lay there, tossing and turning. It sucks, I wish I had some kind of off switch for my brain, I'd also happily take a job that didn't stress me out and give me anxiety but I don't see that happening unless I win the lotto or something.

Today I have Jessica's It's A Girl Thing Collection for Spring 2013 to share with you! This collection is 6 shades that range from bright orange to pastel purple!

To see swatches of this collection click the read more button below!

Alexis is a bright red with a slight shimmer. This leans a little bit towards orange depending on the lighting. The formula was a little bit thick but the application was nice and very opaque. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Alia is a bright orange with a slight shimmer. It reminds me of a few of the bright oranges we saw last Spring from several companies, but I like it! I found the formula to be very thick and a little difficult to work with. I ended up having to thin it quite a bit and it was fine after that. The opacity was great with Alia, I used 1 coat for the photos below.

Shade

Amira is a bright pink with a slight shimmer. Gorgeous spring shade, I'll probably be wearing this on my toes once it's warm enough to wear flip flops again. The formula was great, it was easy to apply and the opacity was nice. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade

Ava is a lilac pastel with a very slight shimmer. I love this shade, it's what I think of when I think of spring polish. The formula was good, a little thick but easy application and it wasn't streaky. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade

Nadia is a greyed out silver frost. I like the base color of this polish but I'm not loving the finish of it. The formula was also not my favorite, it was very thick and a bit tricky to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.
I don't know why my fingers look so white and wrinkly here loll

Sophia is a light blue with a subtle shimmer. This reminds me a bit of Nicole be OPI Stand By Your Manny, I haven't compared them but I think they might be somewhat close. The formula was good, a little thick but easy application and it wasn't streaky. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

  5. Amira is definitely my favorite. I don't think I need any of the others but I'm lemming that one for a spring pedi!

  6. Hi Jen, I can totally relate about the anxiety-induced insomnia! I dealt with that for years! I don't mean to offend you (nor am I preaching) prayer is the only thing that has worked for me - that and quitting my job lol. I just had to remind myself that work was only a small aspect of my life, certainly not the most important and I wouldn't let it dominate me. Good luck :)

Anywho, I know there are sooo many reds out there but something about Alexis really catches my eye..maybe that hint of orange.

  7. I'm just finishing up swatches of these as well. They look beautiful! I understand the job anxiety all too well. What field are you in? I'm in science, and I am always second guessing myself which adds to the anxiety. Anyway, I hope things get better, and just try and remember that it's just a job (I know, easier said than done).

  8. Totally understand the sleep thing! Try counting your breaths. If you lose count because your mind drifts, start over at one. Try to breath slow and relaxed, and keep counting. I would start to drift thoughts around 10 and had to start over. Eventually I fell asleep.

  9. I'm definitely going to pick up Ava and Sophia. The rest I can pass on since I have too many other colors like them. I hope you get some sleep soon. I always feel restless when I'm nervous or worried about something so hopefully you can resolve your work related stress and feel better.

  10. I hope you feel better soon. I used to have insomnia really bad. Now, if I can't sleep, I watch the history channel!
