Hi guys! Big thank you to everyone for the support on yesterdays post of Mallard, I was so nervous about that post. The positive feedback from everyone floored me, I'm so glad that everyone loves Mallard as much as I do!
Today I have some swatches from an Australian indie brand called Emily de Molly to share with you! A little while back Llarowe started carrying these and I kept getting cart jacked every time I tried to buy any...I was finally successful in buying 4 (persistence pays lol) and today I have swatches of them!
Check out more photos & reviews of each shade by clicking the read more button below!
Abstract Canvas is a rainbow of matte glitter in a clear base. I think we all probably know why I needed this...right? It's got big black circular glitter, be still my heart. I've only seen this swatched over white so I decided to put it over something more exciting, I went with Pretty Serious Blue Gums On Boxing Day. I do like the combo but I think this is one that belongs over white...it helps the glitter pop. The formula was okay...the circular glitter was a bit difficult to get out of the bottle but no complaints otherwise. I used 1 "coat" for the photos below. I say "coat" because there was a lot of dabbing involved to get the glitter onto the nail in a nice looking way.
Black Forest is black jelly with all kinds of green hex glitter mixed in! This is one that I got cart jacked for several times before successfully buying it, I have to say...it was worth it. This was hard to photograph, I don't think my photos do justice to how beautiful this is. There is so much depth to this polish, I really love it. The formula was nice but you do have to build up the opacity if you want to wear it on it's own. I think this would look great layered over black, I used 3 coats on it's own for the photos below.
Shattered Sapphire is a mix of various sizes and shapes of blue and aqua glitter in a clear base. I'm a big fan of this polish too, the mix of glitter is gorgeous and I think it will be a nice versatile glitter that will look good over a ton of different shades. The formula was really nice with great glitter payoff. I used 1 coat over China Glaze Holly for the photos below.
The Fifth Element is a turquoise jelly with hot orange and turquoise glitter according to the description on Llarowe's site. This is one I lemmed for a long time and now that I have it I'm kinda like "meh", it's not as fantastical as I thought it would be :( The formula was nice, the opacity was much better than I thought it was going to be. I used 2 coats for the photos below.
Small disclaimer: in person the blue base is a touch more green toned. I tried 2 cameras and I could not seem to capture it 100% accurate. Sorry about that :(
Emily de Molly polishes are available at shop.llarowe.com for $13 each!

They look nice! x
ReplyDeleteGreat swatches! I have a slight preference for Shattered Sapphire, but I love them all!
ReplyDeleteBlack forest is awesome!
ReplyDeleteBlack Forest looks all kinds of amazing! Especially the picture in the shade :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with Black Forest. So gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI´ve got a question. It´s not related to this post, but I hope you´ll be able to answer it.
ReplyDeleteHow can I make the shimmer in shimmery polishes pop?
The shimmer in my polishes always seems to disappear after I add a top coat.
This really disappoints me, because most of the time, these polishes look amazing on swatches on the internet and in the bottle.
Live and Let Die from the OPI Skyfall collection for example, almost ends up looking like a creme on my nails.
That's a pity!
Do you know any ways to prevent this?
I use the INM Out The Door top coat.
Thanks in advance!
Ps. Your blog is the absolute best nail polish blog on the entire internet!
Oooh I really like Black Forest!!!!
ReplyDeleteafter you apply the polish you could try lightly swiping your nails with remover, it will get rid of a thin layer of the polish and help the shimmer pop!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm gonna try that immediately!
DeleteAbstract Canvas and Shattered Sapphire are absolutely amazing. Love love love love :)
ReplyDeleteI love Abstract Canvas!!! It just went on my wishlist!!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't get Black Forest, gutted! Got Ode To The Elite and Dark Crystal and they came today, my obsession with Indies is slightly insane!
ReplyDeleteAhh Black Forest when will you be mine! It looks so squishy and yummy :) Awesome swatches as always!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteI always get cart jacked on llarowe. Ive almost given up.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. I have Black Forrest and it's impossible to photograph! Yours look pretty successful (and gorgeous).
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, I have been following Emily de Molly on Instagram for months and I always love each polish that is posted.x
ReplyDeleteBlack Forest has such amazing depth! Gorrrgeous ♥.
ReplyDeleteThese are SO hard to get! Thank goodness I have a great Aussie friend who is coming to visit and bringing 6 EdM polishes with her! SWOON...
ReplyDeleteI am so intrigued by Black Forest...so gorgeous! I also like The Fifth Element for the fun factor it has!
ReplyDeleteI love them all. I'm like a kid @ the candy store...
ReplyDeleteI freakin' love Emily de Molly :) Great swatches.
ReplyDeleteBlack Forest looks so cool! It really fits the name and looks like a piece of Jell-O with pieces of glitter stuck in it. I also love the movie The Fifth Element, and the turquoise reminds me of the alien opera singer.
ReplyDeleteI get cart jacked on Llarowe too. It's really frustrating and I don't understand why this problem hasn't been fixed yet. It's definitely making me not want to shop there anymore which is a bummer
ReplyDeleteI love the big chunks of glitter in these polishes.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous swatches, I really like Emily de Molly but don't have any yet. I like that there are somewhat easier to get a hold of.
ReplyDeleteOn a somewhat related note, I like that you also show us the polishes you purchase yourself, as opposed to only showing what is sent to you for review. I feel like I see more and more blogs where the content is driven by companies and indie makers, rather than the tastes of the blogger. You have a nice balance in your posts.
Thank you Meghan <3 I wish there were an easier way to get a hold of these polishes, there are quite a few that I want but the restocks are a nightmare on Llarowe :(
