Hi guys! Hope you all had a good weekend, mine was great...I kinda feel like I'm coming down with something now though so I've been taking Zicam like nobody's business, fingers crossed it gets rid of whatever is trying to infect me. Today I have swatches of 3 of the 4 polishes from Nails Inc. new Feathers Collection. These will be launching at Sephora in February according to the press info I got...I can't wait, I'm dying to get my paws on the last polish!
To see swatches of each shade click the read more button below.
A bit about these so I don't have to repeat myself. The formula of all 3 was thick but very glitter dense, you could definitely get these opaque on their own but I feel like the formula makes that difficult because of the thickness. I also found these to be "fluffy" glitters, I've worn York once and swatched it once and I can already see a noticeable dent in the bottle :( You do have to be a bit patient with application, all the glitter wanted to lump together....I think the outcome is very much worth the extra effort that goes into applying these though! All the swatches below are 1 coat of the polish over a base color, I used CND Air Dry as a top coat over each of them. These were a bit top coat hungry, when I wore York I needed a coat of Gelous topped with 2 coats of Cult Nails Wicked Fast to get it smooth.
Brighton is neon blue and yellow bar glitter in a clear base. This is pretty much like the bar glitter version of floam. I am a fan of that color combo so this was the one that excited me the most! I layered Brighton over Lime Crime Milky Ways for the photos below.
Cornwall is blue and white matte bar glitter in a clear base. I really like this combo too because of how bold it is, it was also the one that looked good over every base color I was thinking about using for this post. I layered Cornwall over OPI Casino Royale for the photos below.
York is peach and white matte bar glitter in a clear base. This is my favorite of the 3, I love how soft it looks. I actually wore this combo to IMATS over the weekend and then re-did it for my swatches because I liked it so much. This color combo makes me think of argyle, I bet $5 there is some argyle fabric out there in this color combo haha! I layered York over Essie Where's My Chauffeur for the photos below
Overall I am a big fan of these, if you don't like bar glitter these obviously aren't for you. I seriously cannot wait for Sephora to get these in so I get pick up the 4th polish. My favorite of these 3 is York but I really do love all 3...if you like bar glitter I think these are all worth picking up.
The Feathers Collection should be available at Sephora and Sephora.com in February for $9.50 each, however if you're after them I'd recommend periodically check Sephora's website because sometimes they get things sooner. I'm not sure about the availability outside of the US but I don't see these on the Nails Inc website

ReplyDeleteI'm torn about these. They are bar glitter but they also look so cool LOL I think I might get one of the shades and give it a try :P
ReplyDeleteSame here! I think I might get Brighton if my local Sephora stocks it.

DeleteI just can't get past the fact that it looks like hair. In this case, clown hair.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Gotta own it! Thanks for sharing :~)
ReplyDeleteWhoa, I hate bar glitter with a passion, but these are really fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI can't help but think of the Muppets/Sesame Street when I see these. Like Grover shed his fur and they made nail polish out of it.
ReplyDeleteThese are cute, but they don't remind me of feathers. lol.
ReplyDeleteThey look so neat from far away! I might have to get these...I love how you layered the first and third polish!
ReplyDeleteThese look awesome! I wasn't sure when I saw the bottle shots but they look really cool in your swatches. You also picked PERFECT base colors for the layering! I might just have to snag a couple of these.
ReplyDeleteLove your swatches! Every time I go to Sephora I've been asking about these polishes, but no one knew their release date. It made me desperate enough to see if I could swap with someone living in the UK - they may not be available on the Nails Inc. website, but they are on the QVC UK website - but only Cornwall, Chester, and York.
ReplyDeleteI love these! I'm not really into bar glitter but the color combos are really interesting. I'm always impressed how Nails Inc seems to come out with new trends and ideas.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIn the UK they have released a black and white holographic feather polish, it's the only one I have so far and is beautiful! Now seeing this I want them all!
Fab post as always x
Donut sprinkle nails? Yummy ;D
ReplyDeleteI saw a demonstration for these polishes last week by the Nails Inc. product manager on QVC UK. The polishes CAN be worn over a base color as demonstrated in the swatches; however, they are meant to be worn as their own polish with a clear base coat and two coats of the 'feathers' without a top coat. This then gives the look of feathers with a textured, matte look. It's not supposed to look like glitter or be shiny. But you know, we buy it, so it's up to us what we do.
ReplyDeleteForgot one thing, and to your point, the product manager said it's better, and easier to apply by dabbing it on, rather than painting. Kind of like when you dab on those last bits of glitter at the nail tip to fill in the bald spots.
ReplyDeleteI have a TON of Nails Inc. thanks to QVC UK and their polish kits. Love this polish!
And, thepolishaholic, I LOVE your work! Your nails are beautiful and the photos are always so nice. Thank you for all you do to keep our love of nail color going strong. :-)
Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteLove the first one - such a tender pastel shades!
ReplyDeletehi, i was wondering if you could tell us the name of the nail supply store you usually go to? i live in orange county too, and i'm looking for an old china glaze glitter polish called glam. or would you know where to find it? thanks!
ReplyDeleteThese are cool looking!
ReplyDeleteI love this bar glitter.
ReplyDeletesorry, I'm not posting the name of where I shop. I don't know of a specific store you would find that polish at.
ReplyDeleteJust got off the phone with my local Sephora.....they no longer carry Models Inc. BooHiss :~(
ReplyDeleteI put Brighton over Picture Polish Honeydew and it looks amazing--sort of like Floam.
