Hi guys! Today I have Zoya's Spring 2013 Collection called the Lovely Collection to share with you! I feel like I've been holding onto these for a while, I swatched all but 1 in December.....I bet you'll never guess which one was swatched later ;) haha! I'm really excited to finally post this collection, I love the color palette Zoya went with for this Spring. These remind me so much of Easter, specifically of that grass that you put in Easter baskets!

Blu is a pale baby blue creme. This is such a beautiful blue and perfect for spring! The formula was nice, a little on the thick side but I had no application problems. I did have a little bit of streakyness on the first coat but the second coat leveled everything out nicely. I used 2 coats for the photos below.
GeiGei is a pale pink shimmer. I'm actually not sure if this is called GieGie or GeiGei, my bottle says one thing and Zoya's website says the other! Color wise this isn't something I would usually be drawn to but the finish on this is really beautiful and it's what makes me love this polish. The shimmer is like a metallic shimmer, it looks like sugar almost! The formula was nice, it wasn't streaky but it was a bit sheer. I used 3 coats for full opacity.
Jacqueline is a magnolia nude according to Zoya, very fancy sounding! Depending on your skin tone this can pull more towards being a nude. On me with my pale skin it's a nice pale yellow. I really like the finish of this one also, Zoya calls it a creme but I swear a I see a sheen going on....it's not a shimmer but a very faint sheen. The formula was nice but it was streaky. I used 3 coats to even everything out.
Julie is a pale purple shimmer. I really like this shade of purple it's a nice blue toned lilac! This one also has that same shimmer that GeiGei had, that I love! The formula wasn't my favorite, I found it to be a little watery...other than that I had no issues. I used 3 coats for full opacity.
Neely is a pale green creme. I know this might be shocking for you guys but it's my favorite...just kidding I'm sure I've shocked no one with that, it is green after all. I really like how this shade somehow manages to look very crisp and almost murky at the same time, if that makes any sense. It also makes me want to watch the Food Network and eat BBQ, I hope I'm not the only one who felt that way with a name like Neely. The formula was good, a little thick but easy to work with! I used 2 coats for the photos below
Piaf is a light sunshine-y yellow shimmer. Horrible description, I know...sorry. I'm a bit torn on this one because on one hand I really enjoy the color, I feel like I don't have anything quite like it. On the other hand I think it looks pretty terrible on my skin tone. Truth be told, I will wear it even though it doesn't look fantastical with my paleness. The formula was nice, my favorite of the shimmers...I had no issues with streakyness or sheerness. I used 2 coats for the photos below.
Overall I really like the Lovely Collection, it's...Lovely (sorry I couldn't help myself). The shimmers are something special and the cremes are perfect for Spring. My picks are Neely, Jacqueline and GeiGei!
The Lovely Collection is available now at Zoya.com, each polish retails for $8!

I like the cremes, but are not to sure about the shimmers.
ReplyDeleteI love this collection so much! Are you planning to do a comparison? I'm wondering how GeiGei is compared to OPI - Petal Faster Suzi
ReplyDeleteVery soft and beautiful colors!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours! x
ReplyDeleteOOOOh :) Very cute colours :)
ReplyDeleteGreat collection'! I think I have my eye on Jacqueline an Neely :)
ReplyDeleteStill loving all of them, but especially the pink! I've been wanting that sort of color in that finish for awhile! =)
ReplyDeleteLove your swatches! Blu is soooo pretty! Can't wait to see your comparisons of these. Could you compare Blu to OPIs What's with the Cattitude? That would be awesome from you!
ReplyDeleteLol i was so thinking the same thing with Neely. :P I love this collection so much. I can't wait to get my hands on some of them!
ReplyDeleteThese look downright yummy, Jen--I'm really looking forward to these! ^_^
ReplyDeleteThe lovely collection is lovely, don't be sorry i think the most of the people would think the same way ;-)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I don't own What's With The Cattitude, sorry!
ReplyDeleteIt's on my list but I don't know when I'll have time to do them since live is getting hectic the next couple of weeks for me. I'll put that one on my list though!
ReplyDeleteThey're like 98% dupes. I was disappointed because I got GeiGei in the special 3 bottle set last year and then got Pedal Faster Suzi :/
ReplyDeleteERRMIGERRD I LERRV IT!!
ReplyDeleteI like Piaf but I feel like HIT THE LIGHTS (the Selena Gomez Collection) was waaaay more sunshine-y.
I'd kind of like to see GeiGei and Pedal Faster Suzi compared.
Is Jacqueline a matte finish or is the shine just not translating well?
Can you tell me who else carries Zoya (like Ulta or somewhere) because the only place I've seen it around is Beauty First and they seem to be a bit slow with the rotation and getting new collections in.

I must have em all!!! They're all gorgeous :-)
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful but Blu, Neely, and GeiGei are my favorites :)! Beautiful swatches
ReplyDeleteSigh...these are just so pretty. I really love Jacqueline - I hope she looks OK with my skintone!
ReplyDeleteLove the cremes - your swatches are the first ones I have seen that made me like any of these!
ReplyDeleteI kind of love these colors. I freaking love yellows and that is such a different yellow... a little bit mustardy.... mmmm... now I'm hungry!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty swatches! Making me want these now!
ReplyDeleteI really love from this collection the following shades: Julie, Neely and the pink one with funny and undetermined name.
ReplyDeleteI have been waiting for your photos on this collection. When the collection first started showing up it was a typical thing that happens to me each year on the early release for spring polishes - they look like wrong for the time of yr - I am into getting to wear my winter shades esp this yr since summer went on and on and on and we just skipped fall where I live. The pastels just looked all wrong to me at first...but now either I have grown or they have grown on me. I am not way keen on the frosty 3 because I know I get some frosts and then tend not to wear them. I wore nothing but frosts in the 60's because that is what you wore if you were younger - only grandmas wore creams and anything that was not white or pink (and a little later some burgundy and rose shades) frosts. I never seem to find any powder blues I can wear - they all turn my hands major red - so i doubt I can wear blu. I have a ton of pinks so not sure I need this one and if I want a frosty sort of pink right now I would reach for OPI Peddle Faster Suzi - it's got a bit more 'stuff' then just a soft frost which I like. The yellow is talking to me - and yet yellow can be so fickle - some I can wear, many I cannot just kind of like most folks when it comes to yellow polish. Last spring when Revlon released the whole new Color Stay line - I did wear Buttercup from that line a lot and it looked good on me - this one is a lot more mustard leaning and also brighter too and I like that - it's probably the only one of the 'frost' ones that I would like to try...but I might just hold off - see what is in my stash like these and then maybe order something from Zoya once they are sending out the free spoons of this collection. I have a huge brain surgery coming up and chemo after that which I really need to see how much my end of that is going to cost me so I am on a pretty strict don't buy unless I really need it - but need sometimes can be something to cheer me up too like a few new polishes that I can sneak in there without breaking the bank. The hospital I treat at is out of my area and I just discovered they sell a few Zoya polishes in their 'look better feel better' shope. Maybe when I get there in 2 weeks they will have some of these shades and I can dab a little of some on scotch tape and put that on my nail to see the shade on me - that's a tip I learned a long time ago about how to look at polishes in the stores. But so much of what I get I have to order via mail sight unseen.
ReplyDeleteI loved this collection. Beautiful pale colours !!
ReplyDeleteI really like the shimmers a lot!
ReplyDeleteOH MA GOD, I need this collection so badly!!! This collection, the new spring collection from Butter London, and the new one from Orly are my TO DIE FOR polishes for the spring.
ReplyDeleteYessss! I really waited for you to swatch this! Could you perhaps do some comparisons, please? Like, Neely vs. China Glaze Refresh-mint, Blu vs. Illamasqua Caress or some other baby blue.
ReplyDeleteAnd as for the name Neely, as far as I know, the shade was named after "Valley of the Dolls" book character, Neely O'Hara.
This spring we gonna gave lots of pastels :) Estee Lauder and Butter London will also have pastel collections this spring
It's a simple collection, but the one I am most excited about. I just love Zoya and their formulas. They don't do some of the things other brands do, but I just love the names and colors so much. I have to get all of these!
ReplyDeleteThese are really nice. creme polishes are pretty but I feel like I can already find most of these colors in stores. Especially the cremes. I already have something like Neely but its from Revlon. I agree these scream summer/Easter time.

ReplyDeleteI would love to see some comparisons of Neely with other mint greens, if you have them -- Essie's Mint Candy Apple, OPI's Gargantuan Greene Grape, ChG's Re-fresh Mint... and anything else you want to throw in!
ReplyDeleteThis collection is absolutely gorgeous and your swatches are making my mouth water.
Nice collection.. I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to purchase any because the shades are pretty but I think I've seen a lot of them before. I would love to see some comparisons if you have a chance! :)
ReplyDelete-ch
I loooove Neely and your swatches :)
ReplyDeleteLove the swatches! I recently received a free bottle of NOPI one big happy family and I was wondering if you thought it was close enough to Julie to not need both. Thanks
