Hi guys! Guess what today is? It's my 1000th post! I can't believe I've posted on here 1,000 times, that's a whole lot of nail polish! I have to say, I'm kind of impressed with myself for not quitting, I've never been the type to keep up with things I start. I probably would have thrown in the towel a while ago if it wasn't for you guys reading and commenting and just being awesome!
Today I have KBShimmer's gorgeous Spring 2013 Collection to share with you! This new collection is made up of 9 new polishes. There are layering glitters and glitters in milky or jelly bases that can be worn on their own. My favorite thing about this collection is the abundance of circle glitter, there are quite a few polishes with it in them!
Check out swatches of each polish by clicking the read more button below!
All swatches in this post are shown with top coat, I used KB Shimmer's quick dry top coat and I've been loving it!
A Dot Mess is fuchsia and black glitter in a clear base. The glitter is made up of small hex, circle and tiny bar glitter! For those of you who don't like bar glitter you might like this, the bars are seriously so tiny that they are barely noticeable. The formula was great on this polish, it was easy to get a lot of glitter onto the brush and you don't need to place the glitter where you want it. I used 1 coat over China Glaze Pink-ie Promise for the photos below.

Get Clover It is blue, green & gold circle glitter in an emerald green jelly base. There are also little bits of green microglitter in the mix that give a nice sparkle out in the sun! This is clearly a favorite for me, circle glitter AND green? It should just be named "for Jen" haha! The formula was good on this, it's on the sheer side due to the jelly base but I had no application issues. I used 3 coats of Get Clover It on it's own for the photos below. I think this one is probably best to layer over another green, in lower lighting it looked perfect but out in the sun this looked a little patchy on it's own.

I Got A Crush On Blue is a royal blue jelly base packed with various sizes & shapes of silver holographic glitter. This has some gorgeous depth to it, especially in the shade. The formula was good, I used 3 coats for the photos below and still had some nail line so it would be best to layer this over another blue. My only issue with this was getting the big holographic hex glitter out, I found that they sank mostly to the bottom and fishing them out was a bit difficult. I'd recommend putting this one upside down for a few minutes before applying it so that the glitter can hopefully redistribute in the bottle!

Iris My Case is a milky lilac base with purple, pink, silver and blue glitter. I love how much the glitter shines through the milky base but it's still nice and opaque on it's own. The formula was great, it wasn't thick at all and it applied easily. I used 3 thin coats for the photos below.

Lottie Dottie is blue and pink glitter in a milky white base. There is both circular glitter and bar glitter in here. The bar glitter again is very tiny in person! The formula was really nice, it was more opaque than I expected and easy to apply. I used 3 thin coats of Lottie Dottie on it's own for the photos below.

Pastel Me More is a rainbow of pastel glitter in a clear base. I love this, it reminds me a bit of Cirque XX but without the holographic-ness to it. This looks absolutely phenomenal over dark colors but I decided to go with another pastel a my base for this, I love how soft it looks! The formula was great, it wasn't thick and the glitter payoff was awesome. I used 1 coat over China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On for the photos below.

Spring Training is a milky pastel green crelly base with blue, red, gold, and green glitter of different shapes and sizes. According the press release this one is lightly scented with a floral freesia note, I've had a bit of a cold the last couple weeks so I can't tell you if the scent is strong. I'll have to wear this again when my nose actually works! The formula was really nice, again very easy to apply and nice and opaque on it's own. I used 3 thin coats for the photos below.

Squared Away is a mix of different sizes and shades of blue and pink square glitter and microglitter in a clear base. There are also some holographic squares in here that my camera couldn't seem to capture the rainbows of. The formula was great on this one, it was easy to apply and the glitter payoff was great. I used 1 coat over China Glaze Sunday Funday for the photos below.

Where My Peeps is a soft yellow crelly base with pink, green, blue and gold glitter. The glitter is mostly circle glitter! This is not quite a bright as it looks in photos, curse you pastel yellow for being hard to photograph for no reason! The formula was good, I did layer this one but you definitely don't need to. I used 2 coats over over LCN Soft Daisy for the photos below. I can't stop laughing at the name of this polish by the way, I love it!

A lot of people have recommended this brand to me and I can see why now! I was going to tell you my picks for this collection but seriously guys, I really love all of them. If I could only have 1 though it would be Get Clover It closely followed by A Dot Mess.

ReplyDeleteI'm in love with Get Clover It and Pastel Me More! I love the name of Where My Peeps (hilarious) but I'm not in love with the color, sadly :(
ReplyDeleteI want to buy some of these spring polishes so bad! I just got my first Kbshimmers for Valentine's day from my boyfriend. I made him buy Toucan Touch This because I think I saw it on your blog to begin with and fell IN LOVE with the color!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1000 posts! The polishes are so purdy and glittery :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1,000 posts! Your blog was one of the first I started reading when I developed a nail polish obsession, and it's still my favorite! I love KB Shimmer too. I have Oh Splat!, No Whine Left, and Hex Appeal currently, and after seeing the Spring collection swatches, I'll probably be adding a few more to my stash. Your fab blog has made me excited to try so many colors & fun textures of nail polish! I also love your FAQ's with helpful info with products you use to keep your nails so gorgeous. Thanks for sharing & all the hard work you do :)
ReplyDeleteWhere My Peeps reminds me of Candeo Colors Jellybean (which is a huge lemming for me and I don't even think is being made anymore) this will most definitely be the first KBShimmer I buy! What a great collection!
ReplyDeleteI definitely need Get Clover It and Where My Peeps! Thank you for this review - that's just what I needed before the launch of this collection :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 1000 posts! I love your blog! I've been reading it pretty much daily for about a year now. Your pictures are beautiful and I love how you take sunlight and shade pictures. I also really appreciate your thorough and honest reviews and comparison swatch posts.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate that your giveaway is designed to genuinely thank your fans. I feel like so many nail bloggers these days just use giveaways to get people to promote their blog by sharing the giveaway... my instagram and tumblr feeds are always getting spammed with giveaways. It gets really annoying and sometimes I just end up unfollowing people because of it. Ok I'll stop ranting now lol :) thanks!
I love the Get Clover as well. I have a thing about green polish. I think it looks so great- even on very pale skin like mine
ReplyDeleteIn general you've really helped me to figure out what I truly want to get next when new lines come out. Not to mention exposing us to new and great custom lines!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the giveaway. I'm totally going to grab Iris My Case and A Dot Mess, even if I don't win.
ReplyDeleteThese are really cute! And thanks for the giveaway and congrats on reaching 1000 posts!
ReplyDeleteI mean that if you win the card and you buy something on the website, do you have to pay the shipping costs of the products you've ordered?
ReplyDeleteYour swatches pics are the best :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to get my hands on the Pastel me more and Squared Away!!!!
yes
ReplyDeleteOoooh... I love Spring rain here in the NW! But this collection might top that. Congrats on 1000 posts!

1000! that's a milestone! congrats!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 1000th post! Whaow...
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for the giveaway :-*
My favorite thing about Spring is the weather! Not as hot as the summer (it gets to 108 here sometimes) and not as cool as the winter (20-30 at night!) Also, Get Clover It might be my new favorite nail polish in the world (I am a green lover as well!) Congrats on 1,000 posts!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 1000th post!!!
ReplyDeleteMust have Get Clover and possibly Where's my Peeps.
