Hi guys! Before I get into today's post I wanted to let you know that the winner of my piCture pOlish Mallard giveaway was LeeAnn! Big thank you to everyone who entered, I loved reading everyone's dream nail polish shades. There were some seriously fantastical ideas, I wish I was as skilled as some of the indie polish makers are so I could whip some of them up!
Today I have OPI's Spring 2013 Euro Centrale Collection to share with you guys! I've been pretty excited for these so I'm excited to show them today! The local beauty supply I go to got them a while ago but due to their contract with OPI they couldn't sell them until the official release date, which is today! Anyway, they have been teasing me by keeping them in a display in a locked box...it was torture seeing them just sitting there saying *swatch me* when I couldn't touch them.
Check out all the swatches & reviews by clicking the read more button below!
A Woman's Prague-ative is an orangey copper with gold shimmer. Really interesting shade, I'm actually wearing it right now. It's one of my favorites from the collection! It feels a little bit like fall shade to me, like something I'd wear for Thanksgiving. The formula was good, it was a little sheer but it had a sheer reddish base which helped it build up easily. I used 3 coats for full opacity. Both photos below are in the sun, I tried to take shade photos and my camera was like NOPE and all it could see was red :(

Can't Find My Czechbook is a dusty aqua blue creme. In person this was a little bit more dusty looking. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the opacity was great. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

OPI...Eurso Euro is a dark blue creme. This leans a bit towards the purple side of blue. The formula was ok, it was a little bit thinner than I personally like so that made it a little bit hard for me to work with. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Hands Off My Kielbasa! is a pinky tan shimmer. I'm kind of on the fence with this, on one hand I like the color and in the shade it's really beautiful but on the other hand it leans a little too much towards being frost for me. The formula was good, it wasn't streaky and it didn't show as many brushstrokes as I expected it to. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

I
Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw is a dark blue creme. This is much darker than OPI...Eurso Euro but it's not so dark that it looks black, even in the shade. The formula was good but I did find that I had to be delicate with the pressure I put on the brush while applying the polish so it got streaky. I used 2 coats for the photos below. This dried a bit darker than I expected it to based on the bottle.

My Paprika Is Hotter Than Yours! is a red/orange with a tiny bit of shimmer. This is very orange on me but OPI describes it as red. Maybe it will pull more red on those of you who aren't as ghostly as I am haha! The formula was good, a little thick but very easy to work with. This was nearly a 1 coater, I ended up using 2 coats but if you have short nails 1 will probably work fine for you.

My Vampire Is Buff is a creamy yellow nude. Really gorgeous shade but it does remind me of a few other things we've seen lately. The formula was a little thin on this shade and it was a bit streaky as well. I used 3 coats to even everything out.

Oy-Another Polish Joke is a golden shimmer. Not the best on my skin tone but very pretty nonetheless. This was very sheer, I think it would actually be wonderful for layering. I'm thinking that it will probably look fantastic over the blues from this collection. It does build up on it's own, I liked it at 3 coats but there was still some visible nail line.

Polka.com is blue, teal and fuchsia glitter in a clear base. I love this, I love that OPI has given us a glitters like this in interesting combos in the last couple of collections! The formula was great, it was easy to get a lot of glitter onto the brush and I didn't struggle with having to place it or dab it on. I used 1 coat over You're Such A Budapest for the photos below.

Suzi's Hungary Again is a warm medium pink with a subtle shimmer. The shimmer was pretty much invisible to my eyes but I think it really helped the formula. The formula was a little thin but it seemed like it got better and easier to work with as I polished. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Vant To Bite My Neck? is a dark eggplant purple creme. Gorgeous shade, I always love dark purples like this because they are fabulous for layering over! The formula was awesome, a 1 coater!

You're Such A Budapest is a light lilac. There is a very subtle shimmer in this shade also but I really couldn't see it in person, it's more visible in photographs than in real life. The formula was good, it was a little sheer and streaky on the first coat but the 2nd coat evened it out and made it opaque without a problem. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

My picks from the collection are A Woman's Prague-ative, Polka.com and Can't Find My Czechbook. What do you guys think you'l pick up from this collection?
The Euro Centrale Collection is available now at official retailers like Ulta, Beauty Brands, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis and Trade Secret for $9 each.
I would love to see a comparion for You're such a Budapest and the lilacy periwinkle from the Avant Garden China Glaze collection. Also it might be interesting to see Hands off my Kielbasa and OPI Cozu melted in the sun, if they are as alike as they seem in swatches online.
ReplyDeleteThese colour are not really springlike... :( My favourite is Suzi's Hungary Again. I come from Hungary to. :)
ReplyDeleteNext weekend I'll buy My Vampire Is Buff and Polka.com
ReplyDeleteNext weekend I'll buy My Vampire Is Buff and Polka.com :)
ReplyDeleteJust ordered 4 of them :3
ReplyDeleteLooks like I'm going to be picking a few of these up!
ReplyDeleteThe comparisons that I'd like to see (if you have them) are Oy-Another Polish Joke vs. Goldeneye... You're such a budapest vs. NOPI's Love Song... and A Woman's Prague-ative vs. China Glaze's Harvest Moon.
Looking at these photos, Can't Find My Czechbook looks very similar to Fly from Nicki Minaj collection
ReplyDeleteHey Jen! Is Vant To Bite My Neck? close to AEngland Elaine? Purples can be fussy in pictures so thought I'd ask :)
ReplyDeleteI love the blues! And Prague-ative. Sucker for coppery shades. How does Suzi's Hungary Again compare to ChG Surreal Appeal, from Worlds Away? X
ReplyDeleteoh no, I love them all!!! :)
ReplyDeleteCan you compare My Vampire is Buff to Zoya Jacqueline and Illamasqua Load?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great swatches!! My favourites are A Woman's Prague-ative, Polka.com and Vant To Bite My Neck? I can never own enough dark purples! lol
ReplyDeleteDo you have Illamasqua Shrapnel? It looks like it might be similar to Hands Off My Kielbasa!.
ReplyDeleteI want to like this so much, but I don't. There's some winners in there, but in total, the Holland collection was so much better.
ReplyDeleteYour swatches are always so fabulous and you get them to us so nice and early! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOmg Jen, how did you know I was thinking about this collection this morning and saying "I hope the polishaholic has swatches up this week of the whole collection" and I click on the page and there they are! You read my mind! Swatches are gorgeous as always. Loving polka.com and you're such a Budapest. You're such a Budapest looks very close to Zoya Julie though, which I just picked up from the zoya promo. That's my comparison request :) thanks again for the great swatches!

ReplyDeleteOmg Jen, how did you know I was just thinking about this collection this morning and hoping you'd have swatches of it, then went to your page and here they are! Swatches are gorgeous as always. Loving polka.com and can't find my czechbook. You're such a Budapest looks close to Zoya Julie, which I just picked up in the zoya promo. Think Julie might be lighter but would love a comparison :) thanks again for such great swatches and reviews!
ReplyDeleteCan you compare Eurso Euro and China Glaze Man Hunt?
ReplyDeleteGreat Swatches as always! There are quite a few polishes I want from this collection, but I am afraid to order because they look similar to other colors I have. here are the one's I'm curious about, if you have any of these colors I'd love to see comparisons!
ReplyDeleteBudapest- essie lilacism
suzi's hungary- opi come to poppy and opi strawberry margarita
eurso euro- revlon royal, barry m indigo and rescue beauty lounge ikb2012
czechbook- opi no room for the blues,
I have been waiting for your swatches forever! Hehe your beauty shop is funny, tantalizing everyone with that locked display. Will you have time for a comparison post? I personally would love to see how Czechbook compares with ChinaGlaze Flyin High
ReplyDeleteYes, I was about to ask that question too!! I have Man Hunt but Eurso Euro looks so much prettier!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always! Could you please compare My Paprika's Hotter than Yours with Cajun Shrimp and/or Red Lights Ahead Where, Suzi's Hungary again with My Address is Hollywood, and You're Such a Budapest with the periwinkle looking polish from the new China Glaze collection (if you have it). Thanks!.
ReplyDeleteWonderful swatches. Definitely picking up a couple of these today! I'm wondering how the two dark blues in this collection compare with OPI Dating A Royal and Roadhouse Blues. A woman's prague-ative versus China Glaze Harvest Moon? Oy-another polish joke versus China Glaze Lighthouse? Vant to bite my neck versus OPI William tell me about OPI and give me Moor? THANKS!!!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDeleteThanks for these swatches! I was debating getting the whole collection but I think I'll wait until I see your comparison post.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Eurso Euro and We Saw Warsaw are close, if not dupes to China Glaze Man Hunt and First Mate...
I'd like to see a Woman's Prauge-ative compared with China Glaze Harvest Moon. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great swatches!
thanks for the swatches! Would love to see comparisons between I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw and OPI ski teal we drop, and if you have the shade I would also love to see OPI...Eurso Euro and sally hansen complete salon manicure in thinking of blue :)
ReplyDeleteIf you have it could you compare Loreal's Royalty Reinvented with You're Such a Budapest.
ReplyDeleteWow I love the coral and pink, they look perfect w/ your skin tone. And the nude actually looks like something I'd find wearable
ReplyDeleteI agree with this, and I was also wondering how it might compare to Butter London's Blagger or OPI Dating A Royal.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE You're Such a Budapest, Vant to Bite My Neck?, and Polka.com! Definitely need :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the above comment that my vampire is buff needs to be compared the new Zoya Jacqueline! I'm curious how similar they are! :)
ReplyDeleteHello! Can you please make some the following comparisons
ReplyDeleteA Woman's Prague-ative --> China Glaze Riveting
Eurso Euro --> China Glaze First Mate
Vant to bite my neck --> Orly Wild Wisteria
My Vampire is Buff --> Orly Pure Porcelain
Lovely post! I really like some of these colours, especially the blues! I would also love to see how A Woman's Prague-ative compares to Take The Stage from the Burlesque collection
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting! I had seen press photos of this collection and wasn't initially all that impressed. But I like some of these shades much better after your swatches - which is nothing new!! Polka.com especially - that is a great glitter! I have some requests for comparisons:
ReplyDeleteCan't Find My Czechbook with Jessica Surger Boyz n'Berry (I am guessing the OPI is a little darker and dustier)
My Vampire is Buff with OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons
You're Such a Budapest with American Apparel L'Esprit
Thanks again!! =)
So happy to see these swatched! I am hoping to pick up Polka.com, Vant to Bite My Neck, My Paprika Is Hotter Than Yours!, and A Woman's Prague-ative. Oy-Another Polish Joke kind of reminds me of the gold from the Skyfall collection.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a comparison between Eurso Euro and China Glaze ManHunt, and Vant to Bite My Neck? and Essie No More Film.
ReplyDeleteI really like all the blue and purple shades in this collection! The others are a bit 'meh' to me, though. They just don't seem as interesting to me. I'd like to see a comp of You're Such A Buda-Pest and SpaRitual Lucid (if you have it)--they seem very similar to me. Your swatches are fabulous, as always!
ReplyDeleteI usually don't comment here, but I don't think I've missed a single post from this blog since almost two years! Thank you so much for all those wonderfull swatches and I must say I'm a big fan of your comparaisons posts, they are so helpfull when it's time to put the last touch to my mail orders!
ReplyDeleteI was really looking forward for this collection! I would like to see You're such a Budapest next to China Glaze Tart-y for the party. I must say that I'm surprised by your pict, I thought that YSAB was more "blue".
I would also be curious to see Vant to Bite my neck next to Essie No more film, and Can't find my Czechbook next to Essie Where's my chauffeur. I don't think they are dupes, but I'm wondering if they are different enough to justify the expense ;)
The Warsaw one (what's up with that name?) was also on my wish list but now that I'm seeing it so dark, I'm not so sure anymore...
Thanks again and keep on the good work!
Can you compare Vant to Bite My Neck? with Zoya Monica and Czechbook with ChG Flyin High or DL On the Beach?
ReplyDeleteSuzi's hungary vs elephantastic pink please :)
ReplyDeleteAnd the warsaw one with roadhouse blues (OPI)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for comments on formula! They are very important to me and I've noticed that your comments usually match my experience with this or that polish.
ReplyDeleteYes I've been looking for this as well!
ReplyDeleteEurso Euro vs Man Hunt vs Dating A Royal
Trying to figure out how to live my life in the shade while wearing You're such a Budapest, my favorite of all your swatches! So excited to see your Mallard that I won!
ReplyDeleteI love the two dark blues, but I'm curious as to how they compare to OPI Roadhouse Blues! Love the swatches, I'll probably be picking up a couple colors from this collection!
ReplyDeleteNice colors but boring collection. These colors are nothing special and been seen before in other collections. I pretty much have the cremes , corals, lilacs, purples, and dark/sky blue polishes. I think the only thing that really stands out to me is the glitter, it makes the lilac polish a little more unique then on its own. I pretty much can shop my own stash for this collection..so mega skip for me. Thank you for the gorgeous swatches.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you regarding "Vant to bite my neck". The collection came out last month in Australia and this was the first one that I got. Looks great under the OPI Skyfall Goldeneye.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see You're Such A Budapest compared with Essie Boxer Shorts and Essie Lilcaism. It's so hard to tell on a computer screen which it's closer to.
ReplyDeleteI really like A Woman's Prague-ative, Polka.com, and Oy! Another Polish Joke.
ReplyDeletePolka.com is just freaking awesome. I love how OPI are have been releasing such interesting glitter combos :) Thanks a ton for the swatches! Beautiful as always ^^
ReplyDeletePolka.com is just freaking awesome. I love how OPI are have been releasing such interesting glitter combos :) Thanks a ton for the swatches! Beautiful as always ^^
ReplyDeleteAlso, I was wondering if My Vampire is Buff is similar to NOPI Others Pale by Kim-parison.
ReplyDeleteThanks for great swatches! Please, compare Can't Find My Czechbook with What's with a Cattitude?, A Woman's Prague-ative with Pros & Bronze, Oy-Another Polish Joke with Goldeneye, Eurso Euro with Dating a Royale!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see the comparisons for Vant To Bite My Neck vs Tomorrow Never Dies, since you've mentioned it has a hint of blue. I know its creme vs shimmer but VTBMN is a nice shade and a one coater, awesome!! :)
ReplyDeletePolka.com is gorrrrrrgeous! And a pastel purple with slight shimmer in You're Such a Budapest? Green is your weakness, but purple is mine! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for swatching these!
a lot of them seemed more fall than spring to me, and the ones that did look springy seemed like we've seen them before. Nice pictures though!
ReplyDeleteI would like to see Don't be a Budapest compared to OPI Done Out In Deco and Rumple's Wiggin.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see Don't Be A Budapest compared to OPI Done Out In Deco and Rumple's Wiggins.
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering how OPI - Vant to Bite my Neck? compares to OPI - Siberian Nights.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see You're Such A Budapest gagainst Essie's She's Picture Perfect.
ReplyDeleteI'm also interested in this! Which formula is better..... Vampire or Jacqueline?

ReplyDeletePlease compare oy-another polish joke w/ opi goldeneye:)
ReplyDeletethanks for the swatches! would love to see the difference between nicole by OPI - khloe had a little lam lam and I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw and OPI Sapphire in the snow vs euoso euro?
ReplyDeleteWhat a GORGEOUS collection!
ReplyDeleteCould you please compare:
ReplyDeleteBudapest- Bikini So Teeny (Essie)
Euro- Man Hunt (CG), Dating a Royal (OPI)
Warsaw- Ski Teal We Drop (OPI)
Vant- Pinta (Zoya)
Paprika- Hot & Spicy (OPI)
Beautiful swatches, as always!
Can you compare Can’t Find My Czechbook with China Glaze's Sunday Funday?
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get my hands on these polishes. Great swatches as always!! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't own most of those but I'll add the ones I do have to my list!
ReplyDeleteI'll add them to my list, thanks
ReplyDeletewill do :)
ReplyDeleteI'll add Blagger to my list also, thanks
ReplyDeleteI don't own Surreal Appeal, sorry
ReplyDeleteI'll add them to my list, thanks
ReplyDeleteI'll add that one to my list, thank you!
ReplyDeleteWill do :)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I don't own Ski Teal We Drop or Hot & Spicy but I'll add the others to my list!
ReplyDeleteI'll add those to my list, thank you!
ReplyDeleteIt's on my list :)
ReplyDeleteI don't own Rumple's Wiggins but I'll add Done Out In Deco to my list
ReplyDeleteI don't own that polish, sorry!
ReplyDeleteI don't think they are very similar all, even in the shade of purple. Different enough to own both in my opinion
ReplyDeleteI don't own Cattitude but I'll add the others to my list!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could tell you but I recently destashed that NOPI so I can't compare them, sorry!
ReplyDeleteI don't own Boxer Shorts but Lilacism is on my list!
ReplyDeleteI'll add that to my list, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI don't own that polish, sorry!

ReplyDeleteI'll add those to my list, thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's on my list :)
ReplyDeleteThey are on my list for sure, thanks for the suggestion!
ReplyDeleteI don't own the American Apparel polish anymore, I'll add the other two to my list!
ReplyDeleteI don't own that polish, sorry!
ReplyDeleteI'll add Julie to my list!
ReplyDeleteI don't sorry!
ReplyDeleteI don't own Pure Porcelain anymore, sorry. I'll add the others to my list :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like I also don't own Wild Wisteria :(
ReplyDeleteI'll add it to my comparison list!
ReplyDeleteI don't own that polish, sorry
ReplyDeleteI'll add that to my list to compare
ReplyDeleteI don't own either of those, sorry
ReplyDeleteI don't own Harvest Moon, sorry!
ReplyDeleteBoth are on my list to compare :)
ReplyDeleteI don't own Harvest Moon, I'll add all the others to my list!
ReplyDeleteI don't own Lighthouse, William Tell Me About OPI, Give Me Moor or Harvest Moon, sorry. The others are on my list though!
ReplyDeleteI don't own Cajun Shrimp, I'll add all the others to my list!
ReplyDeleteI'll add it to my list, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'll add them to my list, thanks
ReplyDeleteThanks for your consideration! Can't wait for the comparisons! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm aware you might not have it, but i would swear that Polka.com is dead on Topshop's Hope Floats! Google it and you will see what I'm talking about.
ReplyDeleteI don't own that polish, I don't think I can even buy Top Shop here :( sorry!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love the colors in this collection, I somehow think most of them are not unique enough for me to get them. My favorites are My Paprika Is Hotter Than Yours and Vant To Bite My Neck, so I might check these two out in person.
ReplyDeleteA Woman's Prague-ative looks, to my eye, a bit like the copper version of OPI Goldeneye from the Skyfall collection, which I adore because of its coverage and because it actually looks like real metal in certain lights. Is this true?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the swatches. =) I'm liking this collection, not sure how many of the shades I actually need though.
ReplyDeleteAs for comparison ideas I'd like to see:
Can't Find My Czechbook to China Glaze Flyin' High
I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw to American Apparel Passport Blue
My Vampire Is Buff to Illamasqua Load
It doesn't have the same finish (Goldeneye was chunkier glitter like pieces) but they are similar in how they look once applied on the nail. Hopefully that makes sense
ReplyDeleteI really like Can't Find my Czechbook, and Vant to bite my Neck?
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see the darker blues compared to Butter London Royal Navy and Vant to Bite My Neck? compared to NARS New York Dolls, if you happen to have either of those!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I don't own either of those :(
ReplyDeleteplease do comparisons soon, I am thinking of swapping for Budapest but want to know if its to close to the other purples i own. I love this collection so far :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's okay, I figured it was a long shot! =)
ReplyDeletePlease would you compare a woman's Prague-ative with opi sprung from the Mariah Carey collection and oy another polish joke with goldeneye from the opi skyfall collection?
ReplyDeleteAh, I see your point! I don't wear much purples but VTBMN is a color must have!
ReplyDeleteWill you let us know when you do the swatches for Euro and Man Hunt!
TY!!!
Looking forward to your comparison post. When can we expect it? Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDeleteI am a little disappointed with this collection :/ (You have swatched it beautifully though!) I picked up You're Such a Budhapest and I keep wanting to find a few more to buy but I really can't justify. Prague-ative reminds me of Revlon Colorstay Fall Mood and Warsaw reminds me of revlon Colorstay Midnight. Kielbasa is just awful, eek!! My favorite collection this year has to be Zoya's Pixie Dust!
ReplyDeleteNice swatches! I would love to see comparisons with other polishes. I'm thinking about purchasing Can't Find My Czechbook and You're Such a Budapest, but they seem so similar to other polishes that we've seen in the past. Do you think that they are unique to your collection? Also, this is off topic, but isn't it weird that Essie isn't really advertising their new Madison Ave-Hue collection?
ReplyDeleteYour swatches are so lovely!
ReplyDeleteI picked up Can't Find My Czech-book and Polka.com based on your swatches which are incredibly accurate! The dusty description is perfect, it's really almost Tiffany blue, I love it! Polka.com was a last minute grab based on your liking it, and I wasn't disappointed, the small teal glitter really makes it special. Thanks for guiding us on getting our fix on! ❤
ReplyDeleteCan you do a comparision of A Woman's Prague-ative with Sprung and Warm & Fozzie?? I love th color, but have the other 2 and don't want to get it if it is the same.
ReplyDeleteI got the I
ReplyDeleteSaw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw and really liked the color. The problem was that it stained my nails blue after only a few days and my usual Deborah Lippmann ridge-filling base coat. I had to buff it out.
that sucks, I always hate when that happens! I usually do 2 coats of base coat whenever I'm wearing a green or blue since they tend to stain the most.
ReplyDeleteIs there any other nail polishes that are close to Polka.com? I really love it, but I have no way of getting to an Ulta to buy it.
ReplyDeleteIt's just sick that these cost 23$ in Sweden...
ReplyDeleteI was so obsessed with this collection, I kept visiting this post because I put myself on a no buy. This weekend I had a coupon for JCPenney for $10 off $25+ and since they are only $6 each I broke down and picked up 5!!! Thanks for having such an awesomely tempting blog! :-)
ReplyDeleteI bought the mini set and I loved all of them but struggled to apply Suzi's Hungary Again, I found it was still streaky even after the 2nd and 3rd coat. Usually hate pastels but these I love! They aren't exactly an exciting set of colours but I think that they are must own staples for someone like me who is still building their stash :)
ReplyDeleteI just got Can't Find my Czechbook and Hands off my Kielbasa this morning as a buy 1 get 1 half off deal. I'm wearing the Czech one now. Love the color, but need to get used to wearing this shade of blue on my nails. I think it would be really pretty on toes though. I have Gouda Gouda Two Shoes from last year's spring collection and I think it's really close in color to Hands off my Keilbasa in the bottles. They seem to be a shade off from one another though. So if you wouldn't mind doing a comparison between those two, I'd appreciate it. Someone commented on Cozumelted in the Sun in comparison to Keilbasa. I also have that one and in the bottle, Cozumelted is more pink and glittery/shimmery than Keilbasa. Maybe do a comparison of all three shades on your blog? Please?
ReplyDeleteSome of these are just beautiful colors! Nice!
ReplyDelete
