Contrary Polish Love Lyrics Collection Swatches

Hi guys, happy weekend! Anyone doing anything fun and exciting? I'm not really sure what trouble I'll be getting into yet, hopefully something fun! Today I have the Love Lyrics Collection from Contrary Polish to share with you guys. There is a really nice mix of gorgeous shimmers in here, I'm pretty excited to share them! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Formula wise these were consistent across the board. They were easy to apply but a little bit sheer, the opacity was easy to build up on each of these. I used 3 coats plus top coat for all the swatches in this post.

Ain't No Sunshine is a dusty blue grey with white flakies and shimmer. I love the softness of this, the flakies really add something special here. This looks beautiful out in the sun and equally as beautiful in the shade.

Better Together is a dark blue toned grey with a gorgeous teal shimmer running throughout. I really love this one, the shimmer hides in lower lighting but it's gorgeous out in the sun when the light catches it!

Feels Like Home is a taupe/brown with rosy pink shimmer and microglitter. I love this color combo, brown and pink are so classic and I love that Carrie put glitter in here instead of just shimmer!

Play Me is a greyed out purple with a green shimmer. This is one of my favorite polishes in the collection. When I started buying polish I was obsessed with purples like this. This is like all those polishes I loved so much but with an amazing twist in the form of that green shimmer!

Somebody Loved is a dusty pale pink with a subtle coppery golden shimmer. Guys, strangely enough this is my favorite from the collection. I really don't know what it is about this polish because it's not something I would typically go crazy for but the shade of pink is just so flattering that I can't get enough of it. If you want a good neutral with something special this is one you will definitely want to pick up.

The Way I Am is a pale avocado green with fuchsia shimmer and glitter. No surprise here, I love this. I love weird greens and this one is the perfect kind of weird for me. The fuchsia shimmer & glitter is so unexpected and I feel like it really shouldn't work but it does...really nicely.  really nice formula. 3 coats

Overall I really really love this collection, if you want to try indies but aren't too crazy for glitter this is a brand you'll love. I love the color combos Carrie (creator of Contrary Polish) comes up with. My favorites are Somebody Loved, The Way I Am, and Play Me. I really do like all of these though, picking favorites was difficult!!

The Love Lyrics Collection is available now, you can find these at shop.llarowe.com for $11 each. I think they are sold out right now but I'm sure they will be restocked soon!

  1. I love all of them especially Play Me, but I feel that they're kinda expensive :( And that doesn't even include shipping costs...

  2. I just fell in love with this "weird but wearable" collection. My favourites are the sames as yours + Ain't No Sunshine - I like the blue-grey shade more than Illamasqua Raindrops. Thanks for sharing :-*

  8. You're going to be the death of my bank account by posting all your beautiful swatches. I've been introduced to so many amazing indie brands and it's hard to resist such unique creations. I don't currently own any Contrary Polishes but that might have to change soon. These are stunners!

  12. Never heard of this brand but I like the look of ain't no sunshine. At first I thought feels like home seemed ordinary but the close up shot of it looks pretty.

  13. OMG I love those shades!! Your blog posts already set me up with OPI, never dared to buy them before I started reading your blog. Will have to see whether I can get hold of Contrary Polish anywhere in my country, that collection is truly amazing! Guess we share that obsession for purples. ;)

  18. Very close but not exactly - the Contrary is a bit darker and more opaque, both good things to my mind! There's a comparison on cilucia's blog, spazandsquee
