piCture pOlish Mallard by The PolishAholic News/Announcement!

Hi guys! Quick post for you guys tonight because I have a fun bit of news for you about the shade I made with piCture pOlish called Mallard! When piCture pOlish launched Mallard and the other 3 new Collaboration shades they were limited edition. Since the response has been so great from everyone piCture pOlish has decided to make Mallard part of their permanent range!! I'm so excited that everyone has been liking it enough to actually buy a bottle Mallard. I've been getting a lot of emails from people asking about the availability of the shade since it's been sold out at several of piCture pOlish's network members. I'm happy to say that now if it's sold out you don't have to worry about never being able to get it!  I'm so flattered that piCture pOlish decided to make Mallard part of their range so a big thank you to everyone for the support, I'm so glad you are all loving it as much as I do!

I thought I'd repost my original photos & story behind Mallard in case you missed it the first time. I've also included links to other bloggers reviews of Mallard at the end of the post, if you've got a blog and have posted swatches of Mallard and I didn't link you please let me know in the comments and I'll add it in!

Mallard is pretty much the epitome of everything I love in terms of nail polish all put it one bottle.  If you've read my blog before I don't think it's any secret that I love green polish. When I was brainstorming about what I wanted green was my jumping off point. One of my other favorite things in polish is a strong shimmer, I love the depth a good shimmer can give an already beautiful color. Last but not least you all know I love me some flakies so we couldn't not include those...right?

For the name of this polish originally I was going to go with something a little dark that referenced something I love but that not many people would have gotten. When we decided to change the name I was scouring my brain for what this shade reminded me off, I started thinking about my childhood and things I used to do with my Grandparents. I'm really lucky to have grown up down the street from my Grandparents, I pretty much spent every moment of my summers with them until I was in High School. One of the things we always used to do was visit the local park with loaves of bread and feed all the ducks, I always loved it! While I was thinking about that it hit me...the shade of green along with the shimmer reminds me of the green iridescent like feathers that Mallard ducks have on their head! I think the name is pretty fitting!

Mallard is a deep teal based green with a strong golden/green shimmer and a sprinkle of flakies that flash green and orange. The flakies in Mallard are the same ones that were in a gorgeous polish from piCture pOlish called Festival. Mallard looks gorgeous in bright indoor lighting and out in the sun but because of the flakies it also looks fantastic in lower lighting. When the light hits the nail right it's the most gorgeous shade of emerald green. I've worn Mallard quite a few times since receiving my bottle a couple of months ago, whenever I wear it I find myself staring at my nails and moving my hands around to admire the shimmer. The formula is great, very easy to apply! I've used 2 coats for my photos below.

  6. First of all, congrats! This polish is unique! I had never seen something like this - and I travel a lot around the world! I wonder when piCture pOlish will arrive in Brazil! That would be awesome...

  7. Congrats Jen!! Your polish truly deserves it's place being a permanent color :)) I've already bought my bottle and it's going to be my next manicure :D

  8. That's awesome!! And frankly, the collaboration shades are WAY better than their boring clear based glitters (sorry, but it's true!). Most of the collaboration shades have blown my mind!!

  9. Congratulations! Mallard is such a pretty and rich color.

  10. YAY congrats!!! I've just published my review of Mallard, such a coincidence!

  11. Thanks Sam! I just added in your link too :D

  12. Yay that Mallard will be a permanent color. My bottle of Mallard disappeared this weekend into my daughters suitcase. She works for lots of T V shows. I will make her tell everyone where to buy their own polish. PS I made it to the San Gabriel store today that you recommended. I can hardly wait to try CND Sticky and some other fun new polish colors. They are not going to stock Misa anymore so stock up if you need to Jen.

  13. Congrats Jen!! :)
