Saturday Spam: Random Swatch Spam!

Hi guys! Hope you're all having a great weekend so far, anyone doing anything fun? I'm still organizing nail polish...I got most of it done last weekend but I got side tracked and then didn't get around to doing anything during the week. Today I have a bit of swatch spam for you guys, this is mostly NOTD's that I've worn the past few weeks or polishes I used as undies for layering in other posts. Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Where to buy everything will be at the end of the post.

Amy's Nail Boutique Fancy Schmancy is a mix of gold hex glitter, blue square glitter, small purple glitter, teal hex glitter and fuchsia circle glitter in a clear base. I bet you guys will never guess what drew me to this one, surely not that circle glitter haha! The formula was good, I had no issues with application. I used 2 coats over Mac Breezy Blue for the photos below.

Amy's Nail Boutique Polka Dot Party is fuchsia and blue circle glitter with a mix of various sizes of white glitter. Pretty much bought this for the same reason as the last post, I love me some circle glitter. I really loved the mix of white glitter in here too! The formula was the same as the last polish, no complaints here! I used 2 coats over China Glaze Sunset Sail.

China Glaze Sunset Sail is a peachy shimmer. I got this polish back when it came out a couple years back, I want so badly to love it. I've worn it numerous times and every time I'm disappointed about how it looks crappy on my skin tone :( Don't you hate that? When you love a polish and it doesn't love you back. The formula was nice, the opacity was good but it does go on a bit streaky at first. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Cirque Tibetan Nights is a blue jelly with silver bits of glitter. I loooove this polish, it looks like stars in the sky! The formula is great and it and builds up easily! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Contrary Polish Maui is a teal blue with a very strong green shimmer. Unfortunately for you guys this is a custom made for me by the wonderful Carrie from Contrary Polish so you can't actually buy it. I feel a bit bad posting it but it's so beautiful that I couldn't not share it...hope you guys don't hate me too much for that. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Cult Nails Flushed is a purple with a strong pink shimmer. The shimmer has a bit of a duochrome to it in the shade but it's not super strong. I'm on the fence about this, I really want to like it but  it doesn't look much like the swatches I saw before buying so I'm a little disappointed :( The formula was okay, it was pretty sheer at first. I used 3 coats for the photos below, I think 4 probably would have been better.

Deborah Lippmann Rehab is a dark blue jelly. This was one of my biggest lemmings EVER. I tried to find this polish for literally like 2 years but it was always going for around $50 on ebay and I couldn't justify that. Then one day I found it on ebay for $12 and it came with a bottle of base and top coat as well. After I picked my jaw up off the floor over the most epic ebay find ever I bought it and waited  for it to get to me. You could definitely franken this yourself it's nothing THAT special but man I love it so much, it felt good to finally get it after such a long time of trying. I used 3 coats for the photos below, if I had been wearing this on it's own I would have used 4 to get it completely opaque...I ended up layering over it which you'll see later in this post.

Lime Crime Milky Ways is a pale yellow creme. Coincidently this is pretty close to 2 other polishes that have come into my life recently but I still quite like it. The formula was really nice, a bit on the thick side but nice and creamy...very easy to apply and not very streaky. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Mac Breezy Blue is a blurple creme. I picked this up at the CCO (cosmetics company outlet) last time I wandered over. I don't usually buy Mac polish because the formula is typically crap but sometimes I can justify them when I find them at the CCO since they are a bit cheaper. The formula on this one wasn't too bad, it was a little sheer and streaky on the first coat but the second coat evened it out. It also dried a bit dull looking. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Revlon Hearts of Gold FX is small gold glitter and gold holographic heart glitter in a clear base. I think Revlon has another version of this with moons (or stars?) also but I haven't been able to find that one...all I ever find is the slot for it empty in the display. The formula was alright, the hearts were difficult to get onto the nail but that's par for the course with polishes like this. I layered Hearts of Gold FX over Cirque Tibetan Nights for the photos below.

Revlon Girly is multicolored glitter in a sheer pink base. I picked this up because I was all wooo Revlon copying indies YES PLEASE. However I pretty much hate this, on it's own I don't like the shade of pink the base builds up to and I couldn't find a pink I liked it layered over. This has already found a more loving home but I wanted to show it to you anyway. I used 2 coats over Essie Cascade Cool for the photos below.

Shimmer Polish Jen is a mix of green, blue, purple, gold and black glitter. I think there are probably more colors in there but it's too packed to tell haha. This one is actually also a custom, it was a gift from my love Kirsten from Glitta Gloves. She knows me well because I adore this, the color combo is beautiful! The glitter payoff was pretty amazing also, I used 1 coat over  Deborah Lippmann Rehab for the photos below.

  2. The Revlon Girly looks pretty over the Essie polish. I really like it

  3. I love swatch Saturdays! We don't hate you for sharing a gorgeous polish, even if we can't get it. :) You're also one of the first people I've seen who didn't like Cult Nails Flushed! I absolutely love it myself.

  4. They Revlon polish that's similar to the one you searched has moons, stars, and diamond shaped glitter in it. I just bought it two days ago. While swatching it, it was a little difficult getting the aforementioned glitters. Nonetheless, it is nice polish. The only place I've seen it (and where I bought mine) was at Walmart, which I believe you said in a post that you despise lol

  5. I love your swatch spam posts! I really love the Cult Nails Flushed! I may have to order that one now :) I just got the 2 Revlon FX polishes Hearts of Gold and Celestial but I haven't tried them out yet. I really like the way you layered Hearts of Gold!

  6. Loving all of these! I picked up Flushed a bit ago but haven't worn it yet, is that tipwear or did it do that thing where it just didn't want to cover the tips?

(If you get the chance) try wearing "Girly" over a lilac, it really highlights the glitters nicely! Not sure why they put it in that funky pink jelly. :/

  7. It's just not what I expected based on reviews I had seen before I bought it, it's pretty but not as special as I thought it was going to be

  8. I really like the Shimmer polish!

  9. I love Fancy Schmancy, and I'm DYING to get my hands on the Revlon FX polishes!

  10. Adore Tibetan Nights. It's one of my new favorites, so much so I'm almost reluctant to wear it! The depth of the polish is absolutely insane and I can't stop staring at my nails when I wear it! Also, I totally am jealous of Maui because I love that brand. I also can't blame you for showing it off. Lucky girl :D

  11. wow wow, SO many gorgeous swatches! i also just picked up a bottle of "girly"(didn't love it as much as i thought i would)...and the revlon w stars and moons you're looking for is also a speedy dry topcoat called "celestial FX" (i just picked it up at my local drugstore-haven't tried it yet--didn't know it was such a hot item) they've had some amazing looking, cool glitter polishes this spring! now i can't decide to get cirques "tibetian nights" or contrary's "santorini", both are such beautiful blues...

  12. I absolutely LOVE the China Glaze sunset sail. It really stood out to me when you layered it with the glitter. I saw it by itself and gasped.

  13. Wearing Tibetan Nights now, I was afraid the formula would be a bear, but it was easy peasy and it's gorgeous.

Still haven't worn my Girly yet; might do a sandwich with it.

    Love your swatches.

  14. I feel the same way about Flushed. Looked so pretty in every blogger pic and it got to me and in my eyes, looked like a different polish. Gonna give it another chance or two though!

  15. Very pretty swatches! Shimmer Polish Jen is amazing! Too bad it's a custom lol!

  16. Love these swatches! Especially Tibetan Nights.

  17. I know what you mean about Sunset Sail. I don't have that polish but I have loved many others that just didn't return my affections. Peachy Keen is one and anything on a white base just doesn't work for me. Argh! I LOVE Flushed. I'm sad it was disappointing to you. Maybe it will grow on you! :) I love your spam posts!

  18. Slightly disappointed with your girly swatch, I use it alone in 3 layers and its really beautiful. I noticed your pictures didn't show the holographic glitter that I think pulled it together.
I have been reading your blog for about 2 months and I love it! I think I might order Jen! Thanks!

  19. The fancy schmancy polishes look pretty and so does the revlon gold fx one. I haven't really seen the revlon top speed ones in my drugstore, I don't usually buy them either unless their special because they're not really worth the price they're sold in the UK in my opinion.

  20. I need to try Lime Crime polishes, love their pastel shades! And I keep eyeing the Cirque polishes.

  21. I mentioned in the post I tried Girly on it's own and didn't like it, I'm glad you do but it's just not for me. I'm pretty sure my bottle of Girly doesn't have holographic glitter in it.

Shimmer Polish Jen is a custom, you can't buy it on her site as far as I know. sorry

  22. I love Tibetan Nights! Is that a posisble dupe for Essie's Starry Starry Night? ( I know the glitter is different, but the overall effect?)

  23. Shimmer Polish Jen is so gorgeous!! I'm sure it will sell very well if it were to be made permanent... :(
