Nails Inc Soho Mews

Hi guys, hope you all had a good weekend! I did, it was nice and relaxing! Today I have another one of the Nails Inc Leather Effect polishes to share with you, this one is called Soho Mews and it's the tan leather effect. I thought we wouldn't be getting this one here in the US, I had been stalking the Sephora website for it and had pretty much given up, I even tried emailing and tweeting Nails Inc asking if we'd get it here but got no reply (awesome customer service, no?). I still don't see it on the Sephora site (maybe I'm blind?) but someone told me a couple weeks ago that they found it in store so I went to check out my local store.

I've been to a few Sephora's over the past couple weeks in search of Kat Von D's foundation and the 4th Nails Inc Feather Effect polish and couldn't seem to find this polish at any of those stores. I had pretty much given up again but then I wandered into one of the Sephora stores inside JC Penny to take advantage of an Illamasqua sale they were having and managed to find Soho Mews there, I also picked up the red leather effect so you'll be seeing that soon also!

Alright so anyway enough story time with Jen! Soho Mews is a dark tan, it applies like a creme then develops texture as it dries. The only other creme texture polish I've tried so far is China Glaze and this is much more subtle than the texture in it. If you've been unsure about trying out textured polishes because you aren't sure if you'll like how they feel this one might be one you'll want to give a go, even to the touch it isn't super textured feeling. The formula was really really great, I actually wore this with only 1 coat for about 24 hours and it looked fantastic. I ended up doing another coat for the photos but I really didn't need it for full opacity. Dry time was good, much faster than the glitter textured polish I've tried! Both photos are taken in natural sunlight.

Nails Inc is available in the US at Sephora and on Sephora.com, I couldn't find this on their website but like I mentioned in the beginning of the post I found it in store...but only at the JC Penny Sephora store....weird, right? Nails Inc retails for $9.50 at Sephora.

  1. I love this! It actually reminds me of leather which is what they were going for. I might have to drop by my local JC and pick this.

Love this! I need this one and the black one in my life. The Milani textures are really great as well. I think I much prefer cream textured polish to the glitter ones.

I'm shocked at the price, thats 1/2 the price we pay in the UK for British Brand! Nails Inc are going in the bad books, so much for supporting home grown companies. Fab swatch though!

  5. I just don't like the texture at all..looks like I put a Kleenex to a good shinny cream and blotted it. Agree this one is not as lump crazy as some so I would leave it alone and not pick at it. The color is so not right for me on this one.

  6. Thank you sooooo much for posting this today!!!!! I'd been looking for red and tan too (I even paid 3 times the price to get it shipped from England just to have Royal Mail destroy it). After reading your post, I went to my Sephora in JCP store and voila they had both colors! I got the LAST tan too!!! Can't wait for Nails Inc. denim effect!!!!!! Also, you can buy the fourth Feathers polish (Edinburgh) on Sephora.com. There is actually a fifth polish called Chester but I think they only sell it in the UK right now. Good luck and thank you!!!!!!!

  8. I'm still not a texture fan, but thanks for the story. I hadn't heard about the Illamasqua sale, so I did a quick Google search about it and headed right to my JCP, where the sales chick had no idea just how many of the shades were half off! I picked up 5 :-)

  10. This looks much better than the black leather texture you showed us a while ago (I can't remember what brand). Although I think that because it is a color and not just black, the effect shows up much better. I'm looking forward to seeing the red leather one, as brown is not really my color!

  11. Is Nails Inc Black Taxi your go to black polish? I came to this conclusion after going through several of your posts. I loved the quilting look you did! I'm a newbie and have read mixed reviews about the ease of application, but would like something long wearing also since the parts without Essie matte about you won't have top coat. It's very strange that some describe black taxi as thin and runny while others say its perfect in one coat. I was also considering Zoya Raven even though its more shimmery vs patent look in finish because it had better application reviews. Some polishes you describe as having great formula with easy application give me trouble. I guess I just need to work at it more and apply first coat thinly as you suggested. User error lol!

  12. I switch a lot between black polishes, most Black Taxi and OPI Black Onyx
