Nicole by OPI Kellogg's Special K Collaboration Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have 3 new polishes from Nicole by OPI to share with you, these are part of a collaboration between Nicole by OPI and Kellogg's Special K. Starting in April (for US residents only) you will be able to purchase specially marked boxes of Special K products, then you just have to sign up for the Kellogg's Family Rewards Program and enter the codes from the boxes to receive these! You have to redeem 3 codes to receive Challenge Red-y and if you redeem 8 codes you get all 3 polishes! I think it's a pretty awesome promo, especially if you already buy Special K products!

Check out swatches of all 3 shades by clicking the read more button below!

All photos in this post are taken in natural sunlight.

Pros & Confidence is a turquoise creme. The formula was great on this, really smooth and creamy. I did have issues with it staining, even through 2 coats of base coat so that's a bummer. I do love the color though. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Challenge Red-y is a classic red creme. Again, really great creamy formula, if you have shorter nails than I do you might be able to get away using 1 coat of this. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Be Ama-zing! is a bright pink creme. This is a gorgeous pink for Spring, definitely the kind of shade I'd grab for to put on my toes! The formula was again, really nice. I loved the consistency and how it applied. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

So what do you guys think? Will you be picking up Special K products in order to get these? I wish the colors were a little more unique but I imagine that it's a very board range of consumers buying Special K so Nicole by OPI probably couldn't go too crazy. All 3 of these are really pretty staples in any collection!

  2. I think the colors all look really smooth and pretty but I'm not sure if they are unique enough for me.

  3. The only one I really want is Be Ama-zing. I love all blue nail polish. I still not sure if I'm willing to eat Special K in order to get. This is great for those already eating the brand.

  5. Absolutely love the red and pink!! <3

  6. No... I won't be trying to get these. The colors aren't exciting at all to me, and I really hate the Nicole by OPI bottle (their odd shape makes them take up more storage space than other polishes), so they have to reach a bigger hurdle anyways to warrant my buying them.

  8. Loooove the pink, but I don't buy Special K products :(

  9. Too bad that I'm living in Germany. :-( Because I love the blue one and the promo is a great idea! :D

  10. I think this is kind of a funny collaboration. I dunno, it wouldn't really occur to me to pair up a nail polish company with a cereal company. These colors are nice, staple-type colors though that would appeal to many.

  11. Yes! I already like Special K so ill buy the products just for the polish! Their breakfast bars are tasty and have great shelf life, hope those are included in the promotion!

  12. Too bad is for US residents only! The turquoise one is so lovely!

  13. so there are unique codes inside each box like the My Coke Rewards program or are they UPC codes from these specially marked boxes?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I believe just the UPC but I'm not 100% sure since I haven't seen any specially marked Special K products yet

  15. Gosh darn it, wish they had this promo in Canada...

  16. This is a really interesting idea from a marketing standpoint. It's cool to see businesses responding to the nail polish boom we're currently enjoying. I like Be Ama-zing! I'd love to see it compared to China Glaze Sunday Funday and Orly Blue Collar.

  17. For Special K to choose a brand like Nicole by OPI to represent them I think that the colors could of been a bit more original without going overboard. With that said I definitely love the blue, great for Spring

Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone interested in this. Kelloggs Family Rewards DO NOT COUNT towards this! You have to buy products that have the "free nail polish" offer on the front, all others don't count! The products that have those codes are listed here: https://www.kelloggsfamilyrewards.com/en_US/promotions/special-k-spring-challenge.html

I thought it was going to be a regular Family Rewards deal and was disappointed after buy 4 boxes of cereal :( Looks like I won't be getting these polishes after all.

  19. Somehow I had feeling you'd have swatches for these. Is there anything you DON'T have swatches for? lol :) I'm actully more jazzed about the pink after seeing the swatches, it's not the bright color I thought it would be. Bummer about the blue one staining though, that was the one I was most excited about.
I can see the connection between Special K and OPI, simply because Special K does a lot of promoting dealing with empowering women/loving yourself/feeling beautiful and confident, ect. Personally, having long pretty nails definitely makes me feel more girly and confident. Even on those kids-are-driving-me-nuts-no-time-for-a-shower-so-I'm-grocery-shopping-in-sweats days, I still have my painted nails to remind me that I'm woman (hear me roar...lol!).
I actully bought 8 boxes of Special K cereal and cereal bars (TIP - it has to be the ones promoting the nail polish for the code to work - found that out the hard way and had to go back and buy 4 more boxes!) We eat Special K all the time in my house, so it's all gain for me. Unfortunately, 2 of labeled the boxes had no code in them (grrrrr!), so now I have to call Kelloggs & hope they make this right. (Sigh) The lengths a polish addict will go for even the simplest, dupiest colors...

  20. The codes are actually printed on the inside of the boxes. I think they knew that if they used the codes from the upc, people would just copy them down and not buy all the cereal! lol :)

  21. PS: Here's some of the products that I found the Nicole by OPI promotion on (Found @ Walmart)

Special K Chocolatey Pretzel Cereal Bars
Special K Protein Strawberry Meal Bars
Special K Protein Chocolate Caramel Meal Bars
Special K Fruit & Yogurt cereal
Special K Oats and Honey cereal
    Special K Vanilla Almond cereal

Hope that helps some of you figure out if they're worth the 8 boxes or not :)

  22. where are the codes plz write them down

    ReplyDelete
  23. If you want any other color besides the red you need to buy 8 boxes of qualifying products. 3 codes only get you Challenge Red-y, which is kind of stupid IMO. It would have been better if they allowed you to choose which color you wanted if you were only going to purchase enough products for 3 codes. :/

  24. I just got mine in the mail! But my set has the blue labeled "pros and confidence" and the pink as "be ama-zing". Are they mismarked?
