Hi guys! Today I have a couple polishes from a new to me brand called Venique to share with you! Venique is a relatively new brand that contains an ingredient called Sil-Tek which is meant to make the polish more flexible so it moves with your nail and decreases chipping and peeling. I haven't had a chance to wear test these so I'm not sure if they last longer than regular polish, if you have tried these I'd love to know how they worked for you!

Acting is Living is a grape purple shimmer. The formula was nice, it was a little thick but easy to apply. It did show some brush strokes once it was dry but it's more noticeable in photos than it was in person. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Reels Of Fun is a silver shimmer. I think this is meant to be a foil finish but I found it to be more frosty than foily. I like the color but I really don't care for the finish. The formula was thick but super opaque, I found it to be hard to work with and it showed a lot of brush strokes once it dried. I think it would probably be great for stamping but as a regular polish this isn't something I'd grab for again. I used 1 coat for the photos below.

Venique is available at Cosmoprof & Armstrong McCall stores, both of those stores are pro only meaning you have to have a cosmetology license to shop there. For those of us who are not pros you can find some Venique polishes on Amazon.com and
beautyofasite.com (I have never shopped at that site but they have a great selection of Venique), when I looked last night both of these were in stock on both websites for $7.50 each.

awesome if they work! i really like that purple!
ReplyDeleteI like the silver but I don't like the finish. Breathable polish doesn't attract me but it's great for people who wear polish for an extended period of time.
ReplyDeleteLove your nail shape! The polishes are a bit streaky though :(
ReplyDeleteI don't know if someone's already told you this, but I do know that my local Cost Cutters just started stocking these polishes! They had a full display of Venique when I went in to pick up some OPI polishes. I walked right past because I had never heard of the brand, but now that I see these swatches I wish I hadn't. They're beautiful!
ReplyDeleteChalkboard nails posted a while ago about using an eyeshadow applicator brush for the very last coat of a polish if the polish shows brush strokes! It really makes a difference, if the brush strokes bother you. :) These polishes are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI've heard about that, I've tried it before and it worked well :)
