China Glaze Texture Collection Swatches

Hi guys, happy April Fools Day! I was going to do an April Fools type post but I couldn't think of any clever ideas soooooooo you just get a regular post instead, sorry? Anyway, today I have swatches of the China Glaze Texture Collection to share with you. I've been waiting to post about these for a couple months. Back when I went to ISSE I was given a bottle of Bump & Grind and I've been patiently waiting for my local beauty supply to get the rest of the collection so I could post them all at once.  My beauty supply finally got these in late last week so I went right over and bought the 5 other shades!

The China Glaze Texture Collection polishes are a bit different than any of the other texture polishes I've posted about. They are a creme formula with no glitter. They are similar to the texture polishes that both Milani and Barry M have come out with but I haven't found the Milani ones yet and I haven't had a chance to swatch the Barry M shades I picked up from Ninja Polish. These are also similar to the Nails Inc Leather Effect polishes but much more textured than those polishes. Anyway, check out the swatches by clicking the read more button after the collage!

The formula was consistent on all 6 of these so instead of repeating myself I'm just going to talk about it up here :) These were all a bit on the thick side but I found them to be easy to apply, if you don't like that kind of consistency a little thinner would fix that easily. The opacity of each shade was really great and they were nearly 1 coaters,  I did find them to be a little bit patchy on the first coat so I needed 2 coats for full opacity. The dry time was really great on all of these, they completely dried down in about 10-15 minutes. Since I've had Bump & Grind for a couple months I've had a chance to actually wear it, I found the wear time to be really great. I wore Bump & Grind for 5 days and had no chipping and barely any tip wear...I'm impressed! My only issue with these is that they seem to attract dirt and hold on to it even after washing and trying to scrub it off, I haven't noticed that with the more glittery texture polishes so I thought it was worth mentioning.

All swatches in this post are 2 coats of polish and all photos are in natural sunlight. Also, these look much more textured in the photos than they do in real life!

Bump & Grind is a dark pink. This is a bit brighter in person that it photographing but it is one of the darker shades in the collection,

In The Rough is a light yellow green, light a muted chartreuse!

Itty, Bitty & Gritty is a bright coral, almost neon! It reminds me a lot of Flip Flop Fantasy so if you're a fan of that polish and a fan of texture this is one you'll probably want to pick up. This is definitely a favorite for me, it screams summer!

Of Coarse! is a bright blue. I really love this one as well, it's actually what I'm wearing on my nails today! It's another that feels very summery to me!

Toe-tally Textured is a bright orange. This went on a bit darker than I thought it was judging from the bottle. This shade is very cheeto-licious, it really looks like I painted my nails then put my hand in a bag of Cheetos and they got stuck all over the wet polish.

Unrefined is a light bubblegum pink. I think this one will probably look really beautiful on those of you with a darker skin tone than I have. This color just wasn't working with my paleness.

Overall I like the colors that China Glaze gave us with these, I'm not sure I love the texture of these more creamy textures though....they are very popcorn ceiling-ish. My picks are Itty, Bitty & Gritty and Of Coarse!

*Bump & Grind was given to me by China Glaze, the other 5 polishes in this post were purchased by me*

  2. Unrefined is my favorite. I like that they have a completely different look than most of the textured polishes.

  3. Itty, bitty & gritty! Love flip flop fantasy and have never tried a texture polish so I will have to snag that one

  4. Meh, not a fan of the plain cream with the texture. The glitter texture appeal to me is not the texture itself, but the fact that they look like you dipped your nails in colored sugar. These ones just don't do it for me.

  5. When I first saw the press release for these colors they didn't appeal to me, but your swatches make them all so pretty!

I would love to see swatches with a top coat and see how that changes the effect!

  7. Ugh, I just can't get into these texture polishes! It's sad, because I really really love all the colors in this collection, but I just think texture polishes are hideous :(

  8. I agree with you. These don't have as much of a "wow factor" as glitter textured polishes do. Pretty colors though!

  11. Yep, I want them badly too! I think that unrefined looks absolutely LOVELY with your skin tone! Paleness is a lot more beautiful than artificially tanned skin!

  12. That blue is kind of changing my mind about textured polish....

  13. What a cool texture! Love how all the nail polish brands are branching out :)

  14. These are great for people who wanted textured polish without glitter or shimmer like Zoya and OPI have. Personally I prefer Z and O's take on texture more though. Thanks for the swatches of this collection!

  15. I was able to snag 1 Milani, the hot pink one. Haven't tried it yet. I have tried the Mariah Carey mini selections. If you ask me, it's just like putting glitter polish on without a top coat. I could have saved my money :O(

  16. I'm really surprised with how much I like these! I didn't expect to be into the non-glitter texture, but In the Rough and Bump & Grind totally need me. :)

  17. I love textured polishes, I might have to check this one out. Is the removal pretty easy like normal polish or more like glitter polish?

I liked that colors very much !! :)

  20. I'd say it's somewhere in the middle, you have to scrub a little bit but it wasn't nearly as bad as most glitters to remove!

  23. I don't like texture polishes, which is sad because all these colors are beautiful. Especially Toe-tally!

  24. I'm not sure about the texture either - totally agree about the ceiling thing - although I am starting to warm to the glittery ones. There is a little part of me that wants Bump & Grind just for the name, though.

Wow ... Just wow. I think I'm dumping Zoya PixieDust for these :D

  28. I like the textured polishes with glitter a lot more. The cream textures remind me of popcorn ceilings.

  29. I really adore Nails Inc's Leather Effect & Zoya's PixieDust textures. But I'm starting to feel like more & more brands are trying to put out textures polishes just for kicks. It's starting to bug me; it makes the brands look desperate for buyers & it kinda ruins the authenticity of the textured polish concept.
On top of that I'm not a huge CG fan, so this would be a pass for me anyway.

  30. Makes me wonder how texture polishes look so amazing in pictures but not in real!! :(
Nice post though...I am in love with the colours!! :D

  31. beautiful colors!

  32. Are these the same price as regular china glazes?

  33. These are just not as interesting as the Zoya Pixie Dusts. Nice try, though.

  34. I've been dying to try these texture polishes but haven't been able to find any nice shades.. up until now! Thank you!

  35. I like these colors a lot better than the Milani ones!

  36. So funky and fun! But I would never actually wear or use these ever. Maybe fun to do a gradient with them though!

  37. Mmm... I like the colours... I'm not so very sure on the TEXTURE. I'd like gritty glittery, instead of just gritty. When I saw your pic that you took and uploaded on facebook (I think, the one of the display stand), I really liked the green, but now I prefer that Unrefined!! Also think it looks pretty on you, but that's me!

  38. OMG i want them all.. these are just to die for

  39. i prefer these glitter-free versions to the OPI and Zoyas. garge swatches!

  40. I'm currently wearing Bump and Grind after having removed a Zoya PixieDust. Here's something nice about a texture polish: I'm growing out a low break that is sporting a patch and the textures are great for concealing this dirty little secret. I've got about two more weeks before I'll be able to file my damaged nail down to a respectable level and this is helping me get there.
