OPI Couture de Minnie Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have swatches of the new OPI Couture de Minnie Collection to share with you! Last year OPI did a Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection and I guess it was such a hit that they decided to continue on with the theme and 5 new Minnie inspired shades for this year. This new set of Minnie polishes included 3 shimmer an awesome glitter and another Liquid Sand polish. Check out the swatches after the jump!

A Definite Moust-Have is a medium rosy pink with a pearl like shimmer running through out it. The formula was pretty fnatastical on this one, it was nice and creamy and super opaque. If you are careful you could probably get away with 1 coat pretty easily! The shimmer is a bit hidden, you can see it in direct sunlight but in lower lighting I couldn't see it. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in natural sunlight.

Chic From Ears To Tail is a light bubblegum pink with a very subtle silver shimmer. The shimmer is this was pretty much invisible even in direct light but when the light caught it it was a nice surprise. The formula was okay, it was a little streaky but it leveled itself out nicely. I used 3 coats to completely even this out.

Innie Minnie Mightie Bow is a gorgeous red with shimmer running throughout. This is much better in person, I'm not much a red girl but I really like this one. The formula was great on this polish, much like A Definite Moust-Have it was super opaque and nice and creamy going on. I used 2 coats for the photos below but you could probably get away with 1 coat of this one as well. Both photos below are in natural sunlight.

Magazine Cover Mouse is a red liquid sand with bits of pink and golden shimmer. If you liked OPI Jinx you will like this one also, texture wise it's pretty much the same. This is a definite favorite for me, I'm still all about the textures! The formula was a little bit on the thick side but that made it easy to apply and it was super opaque. I used 2 coats for the photos below. The first 2 photos are without top coat about 45 minutes after applying the polish. The last 2 photos are with top coat!  All photos are in natural sunlight.

Minnie Style is red, pink and white glitter in a clear base. This glitter is the big win of the entire collection, OPI has really been hitting it out of the park with their glitters this year! The formula was good, a little bit thick but easy to apply. The glitter payoff was good, I used 1 coat over Chic From Ears To Tail for the photos below.

Overall I like this collection, Minnie Style and Magazine Cover Mouse are my picks from the collection. If you like glitter and texture I don't think you'd regret getting either of them.

The Couture de Minnie Collection will be in stores in June!

  1. I need a couple of these, but I can't help but think one of them is identical to last year's shade! x

  10. They are pretty different, Chyna is much darker and it doesn't have the pink and gold bits that Magazine Cover Mouse does

  11. Thanks for this post! I just saw these at Ulta and only got the glitter. I think I might need (yes, need hehe) Magazine Cover Mouse, especially after you mentioned Jinx. Jinx was one color that I didn't care for, but still got it anyway, and oh em gee, after I wore it it quickly became my favorite.

  14. minnie style looks great. i love the white glitter.

  15. i find, that one minnie mouse collection is enough. i reallly enjoyed it last year but one more pink-red-girly collection - no thank u !

  16. how are the liquid sand polishes to remove? I like the idea of them, but I hate hard to remove polish (it's why I very rarely do glitter)

  17. Would it be possible to see a comparison between Magazine Cover Mouse, Jinx and The Impossible? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  18. they are surprisingly not too hard to remove, much easier than glitter!

  19. Your swatches are beautiful! I bought Minnie Style (among others, hehe) today and it has white square glitter in it as well. Could I have gotten a knock off? I haven't seen any pictures of it with square glitter...

  20. I don't remember seeing any square glitter in my bottle

  21. These are pretty - so far I've only picked up the glitter, but I've got my eye on a couple of others too.

  22. I now own all of OPI liquid sand because they're just that cool. Magazine Cover Mouse was the only one I bought from this collection. Have you compared OPI liquid sand and Zoya Pixie Dust? If so, what's your feedback?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I haven't compared them side by side but this liquid sand is pretty comparable to the Pixie Dusts texture wise

  24. What top coat did you use over the magazine cover mouse
    liquid sand?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I used a coat of Nail Pattern Glitter Food followed by KB Shimmer Clearly On Top! Both are great!

  26. Great swatches, as always :)
I didn't pick up last years Minnie collection, and I really had no intention of picking up this years either (I'm not much of a red or pink chick). But I'm really digging Magazine Cover Mouse. It's a gorgeous shade of red! Plus I love textured polish, and have a weird obsession for collecting them all (I even picked up What Wizardry is This? even though it looks like a piece of dried doggie doo)
I think I'm going to grab Minnie Style as well - big glitters are always good for nail art. The rest of the collection I could easily pass on, not just because they're red and pink, but because there's nothing special about them - easily dupable.

  27. I love how the liquid sand one looks like strawberry!

  28. Ha! Just posted about this as well, I also had square white glitter in my bottle..

  29. Thank you! I have been trying to find a top coat that would go over glitters to make them shiny and smooth instead of bumpy!

  30. That texture just looks amazeballs on you ♥.

  31. I work at a hair salon so we are an official OPI retailer, ours have the white squares too. Maybe no one has been able to swatch them since they don't stick to the brush well

    ReplyDelete
  32. How would you say A Definite Moust-Have and Zoya Yana compare?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I like the last two quite a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm in love with all of these!! I have to have them!!! Btw you always do great swatching!!!! <3

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thank you <3

  36. Beautiful swatches! I know this is a couple of weeks old, but could you possibly compare Magazine Cover Mouse and Julie G's Gumdrops Hot Cinnamon? I have them both and they look to be dupes, but I would like someone else's opinion since I haven't seen anyone else mention it. :)

  37. Mine have squares. Its a bit annoying since they do pick up on the brush. I have loads in mine. :( I'm not sure whether I should complain to the seller

HI, love the swatches and your commentary. Quick question, how close is the Innie Minnie Mightie Bow to the Skyfall collection's The Spy who Loved Me. On the pictures they seem very close, with the exception of the latter having the gold shimmer. What are our thoughts?
