Contrary Polish Ain't That A Beach Trio Swatches

Hi guys, hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was nice, I spent some time organizing my nail polish...I always find that to be really relaxing. Sorting things calms me down, I think it's the Virgo in me haha! I also got a whole bunch done for the blog which was needed, I usually type up posts the night before they are live but I've managed to schedule myself out like 2 weeks ahead...yay! I don't think that has ever happened before!

Today I have the newest trio from Contrary Polish called the Ain't That A Beach trio to share with you guys! I pretty much love everything Contrary Polish puts out, I love good shimmers and Contrary Polish does them well! I was excited about this collection just from the name before I even saw the colors. I've lived in So Cal my whole life and when I was a kid I spent a ton of time at the beach, still do! Check out swatches & reviews of all 3 polishes from this trio after the jump!

Sky is a dusty blue with golden shimmer and blue microglitter.  The little bits of glitter are pretty close to the base color of the polish so my camera wasn't able to pick it up, you can see it in person though. The formula was great, it was a perfect consistency and the opacity was great. I used 2 coats for the photos below. Both photos are in natural sunlight.

Sand is a dark tan base with golden shimmer and brown microglitter. I gotta say, this color is pretty spot on for how the sand looks here! This is my favorite of the bunch, it's such a pretty neutral and the sparkle this has in person is gorgeous. The formula was good, it was a bit sheer on the first coat but the second coat made it completely opaque. Both photos below are in natural sunlight.

Surf is a dark green leaning blue with bright green shimmer and blue/green micro glitter. The glitter in this one is also close to the base color so it's not showing up in photos. The shimmer in this one was WOW. Part of what I love about Contrary Polish is the contrasting shimmer combos that Carrie comes up with...this one is beautiful! it reminds me a bit of a custom she made me a little while back called Maui, it's not quite as dark of a blue but very similar. So if you liked Maui when I posted it and were sad that it was a custom this is the perfect alternative! The formula was great, the opacity was good and application was easy. I used 2 coats for the photos below. Both photos are in natural sunlight.

Contrary Polish is available a few places including Llarowe, Femme Fatale Cosmetics and Shoppe Eclecticco. If you don't want to buy full sized bottles you can order mini's directly from Carrie, the maker of Contrary Polish, ordering info can be found on the sidebar of her website here

It's a nice trio but it's missing one crucial element - SUN!

This trio is nice, but it's missing one crucial element - where's the SUN?? A beach isn't a beach without the sunshine!

  4. No staining with surf?
