Barielle Brilliant Colors Collection Swatches

TGIF! Anyone have big plans this weekend? A city I live near is having some big celebration thingy all weekend for being a city for 60 years. I guess it's free and there will be entertainment and whatnot going on so I think I'll probably head over and check it out. Other than that I might go get my hair cut, I know I said I was doing that last weekend but then I had a serious case of the lazies and never got around to actually going anywhere and having it done lol. Maybe this weekend I will actually do it!

Today I have Barielle's Summer Collection called the Brilliant Colors Collection to share with you guys. It's been a while since I posted any Barielle collections, I kinda forgot about them which I am kicking myself for now. Barielle is one of those brands that makes really great cremes and I always forget how much I like them until I pull one out and put it on. The Brilliant Colors Collection is made up of 5 bright cremes, perfect for summer. I've been using them a lot as a base for layering, which you might have noticed in past posts. Check out the swatches & reviews after the jump!

Head Of The Class Green is a green leaning turquoise. The formula was great on this polish, it was nice and creamy...easy to apply and super opaque. I used 1 coat for the photos below. My only issue was this was that it stained, I used 2 coats of base coat and still had some issues. Both photos below are in the shade since it was wanting to photograph blue out in the sun for some reason.

High Marks Purple is a red toned purple. The formula was again, really great. It flowed nicely and had great opacity and easy application. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in natural sunlight.

Magna Cum Laude Turquoise is a bright blue. This was a touch darker in person but not by much. The formula was good, it was a little streaky on the first coat but it was self levling and opaque in 2 coats. This one also had staining problems, unfortunately. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in natural slight (it was a bit cloudy the day I swatched these so you can see the cloud reflections lol, sorry!)

Smarty Pants Pink is a bubble gum pink. The formula was good, it wasn't streaky and application was a breeze. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in natural sunlight.

Straight A Coral is a red leaning coral. The formula was alright, I did find it to be a bit patchy and sheer but opacity was easy to build up and the actual consistency of the polish was nice. I used 3 coats for the photos below, both photos are in natural sunlight.

The Brilliant Colors Collection from Barielle is available on their website now, you can get the whole collection for $25 or you can buy the colors individually for $8 each.

  2. Cute colors and great swatches xxx :) How do you stop your nails from chipping and peeling? Because you're swatching a lot and your nails are beautiful! But if I wear polish for only 1 day (using a basecoat) and take it off my nails are a state and rip and peel off! Any advice would be much appreciated xxx Thanks xxx
