Candeo Colors 3 New Shades Swatches & Review

Hi guys, happy weekend! I am so glad it's the weekend, the last week felt so long. Yesterday when I got off work I had to take Degen to the vet to get some shot he was due for and OMG, I have decided I want to work there...kinda. While I was there a 14 weeks old black lab and a french bulldog came in and I pretty much died of cuteness. Then behind the counter one of the girls had her dog and 2 chihuahuas were roaming around. Seriously, dog heaven. I don't think I could deal with sick animals (let's face it, I cry when an animal gets fake hurt on TV lol) so it would probably be a horrible place for me to actually work...I just want to be surrounded by cute dogs all day. Maybe when I win the lotto I can make that happen haha!

Today I have 3 new polishes from Candeo Colors to share with you guys, I don't think these have an official collection name but they were all just recently launched! Check out the swatches & reviews after the jump!

Formula wise I found all three to be on the thick side. Application was a little tricky but since I layered all of them I didn't have too many issues. If you want to wear these on their own or with more than 1 coat over your base color I'd suggest thinning them a little bit. The glitter payoff on each was really great, which is always nice! I used 1 coat of each polish over my base color, topped with KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Julep is a sheer white base packed with different shades and sizes of blue glitter and a pretty shimmer. This is my favorite of the 3, I really like the color combo! I used Julep over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the photos below.

Mahi is a shimmery aqua base with blue and gold glitter. For some reason this is reminding me a bit of the Mermaid polishes Deborah Lippmann put out, I think it's the frosty-but not really frosty looking base of the polish. I used Mahi over Barielle Magne Cum Laude Turquoise for the photos below.

Spring Berry is a mix of matte pink glitter, silver glitter and small pink.purple microglitter in a slightly purple tinted base. I wish you could see the pink glitter in my swatches a bit better, I could see it fine in person but due to my base color it's kind of blending with the base in my photos :( I used Spring Berry over Barielle Smarty Pants Pink for the photos below.

Candeo Colors can be found at CandeoColors.com for $9 each, you can also get them at Llarowe for $11.

  1. I like that first shade! And I always feel the same about kitties as you do about dogs - when I win the lottery I'll buy a huge house or something, make it all cat safe and just stuff it with 30 cats or something haha!

  2. I love Julep! And I feel the same way about the dogs. I was going to school for veterinary technician when I realized they could perform euthanasia and then I was like "nope, can't do that. I'm out!" I just wanna play with pups!

  4. These are so pretty! Julep is my favorite, too. And I know just what you mean about wanting to work at the vet. I love dogs so much, everyone tells me I should have been a vet, haha! But I couldn't deal with all the sad times...plus I'm allergic to cats!

  5. Gorgeous colors!!

And working at a vet isn't all puppies and kittens, the majority of it is sickness and death. : (
I've been doing it for 10 years, and it's taken it's toll.
