KBShimmer Summer 2013 Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have an awesome new collection from KBShimmer for Summer 2013 to share with you! For this Summer KBShimmer is putting out 9 awesome polishes, including 2 mattes (!!) along with a few new nail care items that I'm looking forward to trying. In addition to the polishes the nail care items are 2 cuticle oils in a pen applicator, a base coat and nail prep treatment. I've never tried a nail prep treatment so I'm looking forward to giving that a go once the bottle I bought arrives! I feel weird being so excited about nail care things but I love KBShimmer's top coat so much that I'm sure these new additions are going to be great! Anyway, back to polish, included in the 9 new shades are 2 gorgeous neon matte shades, a glitter top coat and a few very pretty glitters! Check out swatches & reviews of each polish but clicking the read more button under the collage!

24 Carrot Bold is a red toned orange neon with golden flakes of shimmer. This dries to a really nice satin matte finish. I like that you can see the golden flakes of shimmer when this is matte and when you put top coat over. This is much much brighter than it looks in photos, it''s photographing a touch more red toned than it looks in person. The formula was great, the consistency was good and the opacity was great! I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are without top coat.

Blinded By The Bright is a blinding neon yellow highlighter like base with a bunch of glitter sprinkled in. According to the KBShimmer website the glitter in the 6 primary and secondary colors...I'm so blinded by how crazy bright the yellow is that I couldn't really tell what color any of the glitter was lol! The formula was good, especially considering the base color. If you wore this over white you'd probably only need 2 coats, on it's own I used 3 coats for full opacity.

Don't Pink Twice is a bright neon pink with pink/purple flakes of shimmer. This also dries to a satin matte finish. The flakes of shimmer don't seem to be visible when the polish is matte but when you use a top coat you can see it when the light hits the nail right, in the photos with Grayscale over Don't Pink Twice you can see them a bit. The formula was a little bit thick but in a good way, application was easy and the opacity was great. I used 2 coats for the photos below. This was also much brighter in person!

Grayscale is a black, white and grayglitter top coat. There are all kinds of glitter in here, everything from circle glitter to rectangular glitter. I have a lot of black and white glitters but nothing with gray accent glitter or rectangles!  This was a bit thick but very very glitter dense. I found it easiest to dab the glitter on to get even coverage. I used 1 "coat" over 24 Carrot Bold and Don't Pink Twice for the photos below, I used KBShimmer Clearly On Top as my top coat...it needed 2 coats to completely smooth it out.

It's Razz-ical is a red toned purple jelly base with magenta, silver and pink holographic glitter in various sizes.  The formula was good on this, it was more opaque than I thought it would be! I used 2 coats for the photos below, this really came to life once you put top coat onto it!

Pimp My Pride is red and blue glitter in a milky white crelly base. I'm really hoping that when I wear this out someone asks me what the name is hahaha! This can be worn on it's own or over white, I decided to put it over white. If you want to wear it on it's own you'd probably be good with 3 coats. I used 2 coats over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. The formula was good, it wasn't thick and the glitter was easy to get out of the bottle and onto the nail.

The Dancing Green is a blue toned green jelly base packed with fuchsia, sapphire, chartreuse and green glitter in various sizes & shapes. The formula was good on this one, the green base was a bit on the sheer side but it built up easily. The glitter was very easy to get out of the bottle and onto the nail! I used 3 coats for full opacity.

Totally Tubular is a teal crelly base with fuchsia, blue and aqua glitter. I really love the circle glitter in this, it's so pretty with this base color! The formula was really nice, it was nice and opaque while not being so opaque that you lost the glitter. The glitter was very easy to get out of the bottle and onto the nail. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

What's Your Damage is a white crelly base packed with pink, green and black glitter in various sizes & shapes. This was my favorite as soon as I saw these in person, the bright neon glitter in the white base is a favorite combo of mine! I used 2 coats over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the photos below but you could wear this on it's own with 3 coats if you wanted to. The formula was good, the glitter was a little sparse on the first coat but great on the second coat.

  2. Totally Tubular was my initial draw... but Dancing Green? Gorgeous AND unique! I don't normally go for pre-glittered greens, but this is begging to come play with my other polishes. :)

  7. I would love it if What's Your Damage was in a clear base, instead of white. Seems the glitter isn't as strong. WANT Razz-ical!
