Sephora X Disney Ariel Collection Whatcha-Nail-Callit Mini Set Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have the mini set that Sephora recently released as part of their Disney Ariel Collection. Ever since Sephora started doing these Disney Collections I have been waiting and waiting for Ariel to get her collection. The mini set for the polish is done with Sephora's new house brand...Sephora X. I was excited to try out the Sephora X mini's, I was pretty impressed with the regular Sephora X polishes I picked up back when they launched them and these minis looked beautiful in promo shots! In addition to this mini polish set there are also a couple eye shadow palette's, lipglosses, a mirror and a fragrance in the Ariel Collection. I haven't picked any of those up yet...you guys have to let me know if they are any good so I can justify buying them now haha!
Check out swatches & reviews of each shade after the jump!

As far as the mini bottles for Sephora X go, I quite liked them. The brushes are nice unlike some brands mini bottle brushes. The rectangular cap also pulls off so that makes it a bit easier to polish with.

Ariel is a iridescent glitter top coat is a sheer turquoise base. The turquoise base is very sheer...you could wear it on it's own but it was too sheer for my taste that way. I like the sheerness of the base, it makes it more versatile for layering. The formula was good, it wasn't thick and the glitter payoff was good. I used 1 coat over Devotin' To Floatin' for the photos below, both photos are in the shade.

Devotin' To Floatin' is a shimmery pearlescent teal according to Sephora. I think that's pretty accurate. In the bottle this looked like it had a bit of a purple duochome but it didn't transfer on to the nail. The formula was really nice, I was fully expecting this to be sheer (since shades like this usually are) but the opacity was great! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Hotter Under The Water is a dark smoky purple. This is pretty dark and did look nearly black most of the time. The formula was great, it was the kind of consistency I like with cremes (a little bit thick but not too thick). The opacity on this was also great, I used 1 coat for the photos below...both photos are in natural sunlight.

Life Is The Bubbles is a mixture of heavy iridescent shimmer and flakies! This polish is the one that excited me the most in the set. I don't love it quite like I thought I would but it's still really pretty. I feel like there is just too much shimmer in here, it takes away from the flakies. The formula was a little thick but easy to work with. I used 1 coat over Hotter Under The Water for the photos below.

Off The Hook is a purple toned grey shimmer. This does lean a little bit frosty but it's more apparent in photos than it was in person. The formula was good, it was a little thick but easy to apply and the opacity was insanely good. I used 1 coat for the photos below.

We Are in Luck Here is a coraly red creme. This is very reminiscent Ariel's hair...I actually would have named this Ariel instead of the glitter if I was in charge of naming polishes for Sephora/Disney. The formula was great, a little thick but for me...perfect, it's how I like cremes. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in natural sunlight.

Sephora's Disney Collection is available now, you can find it on their website here: http://www.sephora.com/. I'm not sure if these have shown up in stores yet or not, on the little "Find In Store" thing on the Sephora site it says my local store has them but that thing is notoriously unreliable in my experience.

  1. I think Hotter Under the Water should have been named Ursula. The colour instantly reminded me of her.

I need Ariel and Hotter Under the Water, but I don't know if those two alone are worth buying the whole set... that being said, Snarfblatt!

  8. Ariel is a pretty polish but otherwise I'm not really feeling this collection. I don't know why it's so hard to make a nail polish/makeup collection that reflects the color palette of the movie.
