CrowsToes One Mad, Crazy Summer Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Happy hump day :D Tonight the food trucks are finally back near me, they were gone for over a month because of the Orange County Fair so I am excited! I always look forward to going and missed them. Tonight I will be nomming on something delicious I'm sure.

Today I have the CrowsToes One Mad, Crazy Summer Collection for you! This collection is full of holos, duochromes, glitters and shimmers. There is a little bit of something for everyone in here, I spent longer than I'd like to admit just staring at the bottles of these when they came in the mail haha! Check out the swatches & reviews after the jump!

Boat Drinks is a purple and green glitter bomb. You know me I love my circle glitter and this polish is packed with it! The formula was on the thick side but the glitter was easy to get out and very abundant. I used 1 coat over Essie Vested Interest for the photos below, both photos are in the shade.

Chess!....You Dog! is a mix of various sizes and shades of blue glitter, there are also some sparse bits of black glitter in here. I love the mix of glitter there is everything from circles to diamonds in here! The formula was good, a little thick but very glitter dense. I used 1 coat over Misa Blueberry Blast for the photos below.

Lat Rat Standing is a brown base with multicolored shimmer. This is an interesting shade, I didn't really think much of it in the bottle to be honest. On the nail I pretty much love this, it's very complex looking and the multicolored shimmer is gorgeous. The formula was a bit on the sheer side but it was easily buildable, I used 3 coats for full opacity.

Me & This Army is a faded army green base with a strong purple shimmer. Yep...I love this I bet no one is surprised haha! The formula was good but sheer. I actually didn't think this would build up to be opaque but it did! I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Minion is a purple to green duochrome, as a nice added touch there are also little flakes that you can see in low lighting the give the polish nice depth. The formula was really nice on this one, it was a good consistency and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

My Favorite Amazon is a glitter bomb with red, gold, blue and silver glitter in various sizes and shapes. There is a lot of star glitter in here that was actually pretty easy to get out of the bottle and onto the nail...that's always nice! The formula was thick but very glitter dense and easy to apply. I used 1 coat over Essie Twin Sweater Set for the photos below, both photos are in the shade.

One Trick Pony is a purple/green duochrome with a nice helping of holo. The duochrome was a bit on the weak side but it's pretty nonetheless! The formula was good as was the opacity, I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Storms Never Last is a blue to purple duochrome with a sprinkle of blue glitter. I love the addition of the blue glitter in this, I already like the duochrome to it but that just adds a nice touch of extra sparkle and it's interesting to look at in low lighting. The formula was a little thick but easy to apply and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Tiki Torch is a purple jelly with red and gold glitter mixed in. Love this one, I'm a big fan of the contrast between the purple jelly base and the glitter! The formula was good but very sheer, I used 4 coats for the photos below but 5 probably would have been better. I think this would probably work best layered.

  5. Wow, what a fun collection! There're a lot of blues and purples, so I'm excited, but I LOVE Me & This Army, and I think I might really like Last Rat Standing. Great swatches, thanks!

  6. I have Tiki Torch, Minion and Chess You Dog. I LOVE Tiki Torch! It does take a few layers, because it's a thin jelly, but it's so worth it! When it's more opaque, it has this great inner glow (like a tiki torch!) It's just gorgeous!
I like Minion, but I was expecting more of a color shift. Nonetheless, it's still pretty, and it actually makes a really great base for Chess You Dog :) I had Me & This Army in my cart, and ended up removing it last minute. Now I'm kinda bummed about it.

  9. These are great, but your swatches always are. You have a way of making polishes I wouldn't normally like into swoon-worthy, gotta have 'em selections! :)

PS just a small comment re: the ad bar that goes along the bottom of the screen: While I totally don't mind that you have ads & completely respect your right to do so, I really find this type of bar ad very annoying & interfering with the enjoyment of your site b/c it partially blocks the pictures & text and just generally is in the way. I understand you may not have a choice what design the ads have, & it definitely won't stop me from visiting, I just thought you might appreciate some feedback from someone who visits your site daily.

  10. Thanks <3 I'll look into the ad you are talking about. I have it set up so everything is in the header or sidebar so there shouldn't be anything in the body of posts. I'll see if I can figure out what it is!
