Super Black Summer 2013 Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have 5 new polishes for Summer 2013 from Super Black to share with you! I'm so excited to finally post these, I got them in a mail a while back and then promptly broke a nail on my swatching hand so they just sat on my desk staring at me until my nail grew out. That sure didn't stop me from wearing them though because they are beautiful! Check out the swatches after the jump!

Blitz is a black creme loaded with holographic silver glitter. As is the case with most polishes with holographic glitter this is about a bajillion times better in person, cameras just can't capture that rainbow sparkle very well.  The formula was good, it was a little thinner than I love but the opacity and application was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in natural sunlight.

Cannibal is a classic red creme. The formula was nice and opaque while being somewhat jelly like with the slightly squishy looking and drying with a nice high shine. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in natural sunlight.

Dusted is a grape purple base loaded with green shimmer. Be still my heart. This was love at first sight, I've worn it 3 times since I got and and I'm not tired of it at all. Don't be surprised when this is one of my 2013 favorites. If you like purple or interesting shimmers you need this in your life, you won't regret it! The shimmer in this is nice and strong and was visible in lower lighting! The formula was good, it was a bit patchy on the first coat but completely opaque with the second coat. This does dry a bit satin matte, my photos are with top coat but I liked it matte also! I used 2 coats for the photos below, all photos are in natural sunlight.

Plip is a blue/green creme with black glitter. This leans a bit more green in person than in my photos but it's walking the line between blue and green quite nicely. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the consistency was nice. The opacity was also good without being so opaque that it completely covered the glitter. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in natural sunlight.

Weird Girl is a light grey base with an opalescent flash of shimmer. This is a really interesting shade, to be honest I was kind of meh about it in the bottle but it's a stunner on the nail. I don't think pictures do it much justice, the shimmer was a bit stronger in person and it added a nice contrast to the neutral base. This would be a great polish for those of you who work in an office environment where you can't wear crazy polish colors, it's nice and neutral but it has that fun pop of shimmer.  The formula was great, it was much more opaque than I expected it to be, I used 2 coats for the photos below...both photos are in natural sunlight.

Super Black's Summer polishes are available now, you can find them at http://superblacklacquers.com/ each polish retails for $12!

  2. WELP, there goes $24+ dollars! I had to buy Dusted, because I, too, can't resist combinations like that, and then I bought HBIC too. I have a purple weakness. I've never bought Super Black before, so this post totally worked.

  3. Dusted looks much more blue than purple to me on the screen, maybe because of the green shimmer. I might have to see this one in person. Thanks for the swatches (I'm obsessed with purples!)
