Zoya Fall 2013 Satin Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have the 2nd half of Zoya's Fall 2013 offerings to share with you, this is the Satin Collection. This half of the collection is 5 shimmers and 1 really pretty glitter! I really like the jewel tones of this collection, they are fun for fall!
Check out the swatches & reviews by clicking the read more button below.

Channing is a coppery red/orange shimmer. This was a bit of a chameleon, indoors it leaned towards orange but then outside it was a really beautiful fiery red orange. I feel like this is a unique shade, I can't think of anything quite like it off the top of my head. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in natural sunlight.

Claudine is a dark gunmetal shimmer. This is walking that line between black and grey, its a little too frosty for me to completely love but I do like the shade. The formula was good but I found it a little bit hard to control on the first coat, it kept wanting to go up into my cuticles. This did have minor brushstrokes but they weren't as obvious as in the photos. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Giovanna is a teal shimmer. This leans a bit more green in person but it still looks teal in most lighting. The formula was good, the consistency was good and the opacity was also really nice. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in natural sunlight.

Maria Luisa is a gold flake like glitter. Love this one, I love how versatile it is, it looks good over pretty much everything! The formula was a little bit on the thick side but very easy to apply. The glitter payoff was great! I used 1 coat over each polish below, the base polishes are all of the Cashmere Collection polishes. All photos are in the shade.

Mason is a red toned purple shimmer. I feel like we've been getting this shade a lot for this Fall! The formula was a little bit on the thin side for what I personally like but it was easy to apply and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Neve is a sapphire blue shimmer. In the bottle this looked like it leaned towards blurple but on the nail it's definitely a sapphire blue, that was a nice surprise from what I thought it was going to be! The formula was good, it was a little bit patchy on the first coat but perfect with the second.

  1. I don't know if my first comment went through so I'll try this again. Having a sister called Giovana is a justifiable reason for purchase, right?

How would you compare Giovanna to Zuza?

  10. I bought "Maria-Luisa" and "Flynn" when I got free s/h during the Aqua Di Lara promo recently b/c none of the Ultas around here EVER got in the Summer line of Zoya, and I didn't know if they'd get the Fall line in. I haven't been able to decide what to get from this collection b/c I like SO MANY and was hoping to see them in person...
Zoya made my decision simple on Sunday with their camouflage promo, though! They were giving out "Hunter," "Louise," "Flynn," and "Pepper" for free if you bought any four polishes...so I also snagged "Sailor" and "Channing" and now I have all the fall colors I wanted! And two of "Flynn," but it will make a good gift...!

I've loved seeing you brush "Maria-Luisa" over the cremes. I think I especially need to try it over "Louise" and "Hunter." And...I am even more excited to see "Channing" in person now that I see all those pretty flecks up close! I actually got it for my mom and didn't plan to use it b/c I thought it was really close to ORLY's "Smolder" from last year that I love, but seeing it now...I'm thinking they're not that close!

  12. They all seem like great fall colors and very wearable too, but none of them really made my heart beat faster.

  13. They aren't really similar at all :)

  14. I don't know if you're taking comparison requests, but I'd love to see Neve next to Song!

Claudine seems like an average color... but Maria Luisa is absolutely gorgeous! It layers great on top of any color it seems

  17. Amazing! Just a question--did you find Neve quite brush-strokey? And, if possible, could you do a comparison of Mason with Essie The Lace Is On? Thanks for the beautiful swatches!

  18. I didn't have any brush stroke issues with Neve (at least not that I remember!) I'll add that comparison to my list!

  27. Your swatches are wonderful. However, I'm not feeling the fall collections for any of the top brands. They all seems to have the same magneta-purple color as well as teal and blue. Not to mention the Essie and OPI duochrome dupes. I guess the only difference is the finishes (shimmery, frosted, creme, etc.)

  28. If I already have Essie's As Gold As It Gets, would you say Maria-Luisa is an unnecessary purchase?
