GlitterDaze Lucky Clover

Hi guys! Short but sweet post for you today featuring a beautiful polish from GlitterDaze called Lucky Clover. Lucky Clover is a gorgeous emerald green jelly packed with green flecks of glitter. Be still my heart! Sana, the maker of GlitterDaze, included this as a surprise for me and OMG I am loving it! She knows me well :D

The formula was good, it was a bit on the sheer side due to the jelly base but it was easy to build it up to be opaque. You can also layer this over another green if that's more your style. I used 3 coats of Lucky Clover on its own for the photos below!

China Glaze Halloween 2013 Monsters Ball Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have the Monsters Ball Collection for Halloween from China Glaze for ya! I've been eagerly waiting for this collection, China Glaze usually does really great Halloween Collections so I had high hopes. I had been hearing that people were finding these at Ulta and after going by all the Ulta's in my area I couldn't find them so I ordered them online (clearly I lack any kind of patience, I went by Ulta last night and they have them now lol). I wish you all could have seen my excitement when they arrived, it was like one of those videos of a child ripping open a Christmas present except instead of wrapping paper flying everywhere it was bubble wrap haha!

This years collection is 6 polishes strong, I only got 5 because the 6h is their Ghoulish Glow polish that I'm pretty sure they re-promote every year and I already own it. I don't really care for Ghoulish Glow so I didn't need or want another bottle. Anyway, the other 5 polishes are really pretty, there are a few really nice glitters and a new Texture polish. Check out all the swatches after the jump!

OPI Halloween 2013 Rock Goddess Mini Set Swatches

Hi guys! Hope you all had a good weekend, mine was nice! Did anyone else watch the Dexter finale? I sure was awful. I actually don't think awful is a good word to describe how bad and disappointing it was. There is seriously nothing worse than loving a show for 8 years and then having it end so I legit think I could have written a better ending (or better entire final season) than whoever was behind this craptastic season. I won't spoil it if you haven't watched it but it was just SO BAD. I'm still mad... I have the OPI Halloween mini set for 213 to share with you! I stumbled across this a few weeks back at my local nail supply store and snatched it right up. The colors aren't anything to write home about but the super cute packaging and free skull bracelet did me in. I might as well have *sucker* stamped across my forehead haha!

This years mini set comes with 3 creme shades and 1 shimmer along with a free skull bracelet. I posted a picture of the packaging on my instagram when I bought it, if you'd like to see it click here! Check out the swatches & reviews after the jump!

Hi guys, hope you're all having a great weekend so far!Today's post is a little different, I wanted to let you know about a great event that will be taking place in Orange County, CA on November 10th called Love, Preview.

Love, Preview is the brainchild of Victoria from Serum No. 5, it is a curated fashion & beauty event that is raising funds for a great charity called No Kid Hungry. The event will be taking place on November 10, 2013 at the Shark Club in Costa Mesa, CA from 6-9pm (this is a 21+ event). Right now you can buy presale tickets on the Love, Preview website for $10.59, they will also be available at the door for $15 the night of the event.

The event will be featuring a bunch of great local brands like Serum No. 5, Lacquer Lust, Mentality Nail Polish and more. It will be a fun opportunity to not only buy from indie brands but also meet the wonderful ladies behind them (that's what I'm most excited about). In addition to a ton of great local brands there will also be a few bloggers in attendance (like me!!) so if you've ever wanted to chit chat in real life come on down! We can talk about nail polish and wiener dogs :)

Cadillacquer Dexter Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Weekend! Today I have a new to me indie to share with you called Cadillacquer! A few weeks back Llarowe sent me a few polishes to review and one of them was Cadillacquer The Dark Defender. While I was looking up that polish I realized it was part of a Dexter Collection and well...self control went out the window and I bought all the other polishes from the collection because it's a Dexter Collection and I couldn't resist.

Is anyone else completely bummed that the last episode EVER of Dexter is tomorrow night? Dexter is one of my favorite shows, I love the books too, so it makes me sad that its coming to an end. This season has been like the slowest build ever so I'm hoping that by the end of tomorrows episode my mind will just be blown and I'll be like zomg what just happened while I sit in a corner rocking back and forth to console myself. If not, well then you will see me bitching about it on Twitter lol!

Anyway, back to Cadillacquer...Cadillacquer is an indie brand out of Switzerland. All of her polishes are inspired by TV shows, movies and songs etc... If I was an indie maker I'd probably be doing the same sort of things...and there would for sure be a Dexter Collection :D Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Hi guys! Today I have the Serum No. 5 FW13 Collection to share with you guys! I'm pretty excited about it, Serum No. 5 is really well known for their awesome glow in the dark polishes and it's a brand I've been wanting to try for ages. I really love the polishes Serum No. 5 puts out but aside from that I love that each month Victoria (maker of Serum No. 5) donates 20% of the profits from her sales to's polish you can feel good about buying! For September the charity Victoria is donating to is Make A Wish, October is Susan G. Komen and November/December is No Kid Hungry!

Today I have the Get Loud Collection from Precision Nail Lacquer for ya! This is a somewhat new to me brand, it's new to me in the sense that I've never tried it before...but I have seen this brand around for a while in the beauty supply stores that I like to shop at. The Get Loud Collection features 12 neon shades perfect for Summer...or ya know...for whenever you feel like wearing a neon because you don't have to only wear them during summer. Check out all the swatches after the jump!

CND Vinylux Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have some swatches along with a review of the new CND Vinylux system. Vinylux is a new product from CND that is supposed to give you 7 day chip-free wear with a 2 step system. All you do is apply your polish, no base coat required, and the Weekly Top Coat and you're good to go. The Weekly Top Coat uses "Pro-Light Technology" which creates increased durability and resistance to chips with exposure to natural light. Vinylux has a pretty huge range of colors and finishes, 62 in total...47 of which match popular Shellac colors.

I've had these for a few weeks now so I've been trying them different ways and wear testing them etc... check out all the swatches and my wall 'o text review after the jump!

Different Dimension Halloween 2013 Silenced The Lambs Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Hope you all had a great weekend! Today I have the Halloween Collection from Different Dimension to share with you. This collection is called the Silenced The Lambs Collection and it's based off of Silence of the Lambs...I'm sure we've all seen that movie right? That movie traumatized me as a child...I'm pretty sure my parents let me see it when I was WAY to young to be seeing movies like that haha! This collection consists of 4 new polishes, 1 of them is a pretty awesome glow in the dark holo...gotta love that! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Maybelline Vintage Leather Lasting Lilac & Mod Moss

Hi guys! Hope you're all having a great weekend so far! Today I have 2 polishes from the LE Vintage Leather Collection Maybelline recently put out to share with you! I heard about these a while back over on Nouveau Cheap and went hunting for them but didn't actually find them until a week or so ago at Target. In total I think there are 10 of these but only 2 of them caught my eye enough to buy them

Lasting Lilac is a red toned purple with flakes of glitter and shimmer. I'm not quite sure how to describe the flakies, I wouldn't call them iridescent since they don't seem to flash any colors but I also wouldn't call them white. Whatever they are...I am a fan haha! The formula was meh...not bad...not good. It was sheer and patchy on the first coat, I did have issues getting it to even out but I was happy with how it looked after 3 coats. One thing I loved about was SUPER fast drying! Lasting Lilac dries down to a really nice matte finish, I quite liked how this looked! All photos below are in natural sunlight and without top coat.

Mod Moss is an olive green with red/orange shimmer and flakes of glitter. YUS this one is *so* me...I actually bought it because it reminded me of a more olive version of my piCture pOlish shade, Mallard. Like Lasting Lilac this dried matte, I actually didn't really love it that way (it looked kind of flat that way) but no worries because it's all kinds of awesome with top coat. The formula was good, it was nice and could be a 1 coater if you were very careful. I had some minor issues with this balding a bit if I went over a spot more than once but other than that there were no issues and this was very fast drying! I used 2 coats for the photos below, all photos are in natural sunlight.

Below is Mod Moss with top was beautiful this way!

The Vintage Leather Collection from Maybelline is available now, I got mine at Target but they should be available at drugstores like CVS and Walgreens also!

GlitterDaze Lei It On Me

Happy Friday!  Anyone have fun plans this weekend? I'm going to be hanging out with a few of my friends for my birthday but I have no idea what we're doing yet...I think it's going to be one of those nights where we just go to a bar and see where the night takes us. Should be interesting haha!

Today I have a polish from GlitterDaze called Lei it On Me to share with you! Lei It On Me is a mix of purple, pink, orange, green and yellow neon glitter in a milky white base.  Feels perfect for summer since it still very much feels like summer were I live (literally, it's supposed to be like 90 degrees this weekend). The formula was really nice, it was a good consistency and easy to apply. This is easy to get opaque on it's own with 3 coats but you could also layer it over white if you wanted to. I used 3 coats on it's own for the photos below!

Dance Legend Chameleon Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Guess what today is? It's my birthday woohoo! I'm actually not much of a birthday celebrater, the only one I've really done anything exciting for was for my 21st...I did the obligatory Las Vegas trip that I don't remember most of thanks to the giant margaritas I had way too many of. It's actually my Grandma's birthday today too, we're going out to dinner tonight to celebrate and I'll probably do something with friends over the weekend! For those wondering my birthday mani is actually still my glow in the dark NOTD that I posted on Monday :D

Since today is my birthday I thought I'd post something I'm really loving...the Dance Legend Chameleon Collection. This collection is 6 multichomatic all know how I feel about multichromes!! I have 5 of the 6 to share with you today...I hope you like them as much as I do! Fun fact...the polishes are named after characters from Monsters, Inc. (I love that movie!) Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Emily de Molly Cosmic Forces

Hi guys! Today I have Cosmic Forces from Emily de Molly for ya! I finally managed to snag this last time Llarowe had a restock! Cosmic Forces is a beautiful purple jelly with lavender holo circle and hex glitter along with pink circle glitter. This had been on my wish list for ages, it's just as pretty as I imagined it was going to be...I'm pretty  much in love with the purple jelly base and the depth the glitter gives this.

The formula was unfortunately not my favorite. Much like Oceanic Forces I found the large circle glitter near impossible to get out of the bottle. I thought I'd be good by setting the bottle upside down for almost an hour before applying but didn't help at all. I ended up dumping out some of the polish onto a plate and then fishing out the big circles from that. I do like the way this ended up looking, like I mentioned above...but I just wish the formula was easier to work with. I've had Emily de Molly Dark Forces (the black version of this) on my wishlist for a while too but I think I'll be removing it from that since the last 2 polishes like it were such a pain to work with. :(

I used 2 coats for the photos below, the first 2 photos are in natural sunlight and the last photo is in the shade.

Emily de Molly is available at Llarowe, this polish was $13

NOTD: Glow In The Dark Stamping

Hi guys! Today I have a Nail Of The Day (NOTD) for you! Yesterday afternoon when I was done swatching I had on NCLA As If! and was trying to think of some way to jazz it up a bit. I decided I would try some stamping over it, I recently got the Sumptuous stamping plates from Pueen and I've been playing them out quite a bit since they arrived. I used to like stamping when I first started blogging but somewhere along the way I decided I sucked at it and stopped using the plates I had....until recently!

I decided I wanted to try something that I thought was going to be amazing but probably wouldn't actually work...glow in the dark stamping. I remember seeing Sarah from Chalkboard Nails do something similar ages ago but she did a glow in the dark base polish with black stamping over can see her post here! I wanted to stamp with a glow in the dark over a regular base polish. In my heart I was like "oh yeah this is going to look freaking awesome" but in my head I was like "lol no, Jen". I didn't think it would work because typically glow in the dark polish is very sheer and I didn't think it would transfer a design very well.

So here you go guys...IT WORKED! I pretty sure this is like the first time I have ever done a mani then walked into the dark garage and said "holy shit this is amazing".

The base polish is NCLA As If! (a light purple), the stamping is done with Serum No. 5 Day Glow (flipping amazing glow in the dark polish, I'll review it soon). The stamp is the leopard print on plate 9 of the Pueen Sumptuous Set (I bought mine from Amazon, you can also get them from Harlow & Co)

Here is the mani in the sun, you can still see the stamping but it's very subtle!

Polish TBH Swatches & Review

Happy Friday! Today I have 4 polishes from a new to me indie brand called Polish TBH to share with you guys! I was drawn to this brand because she has a Harry Potter Collection, I kind of love Harry Potter themed polishes, I thank (and blame) Kirsten from Glitta Gloves for that obsession. All 4 of the polishes are from the Diagon Alley Collection, there are 2 more from this collection that also look fab..>I'm sure I'll be picking them up eventually!

Fall 2013 OPI, China Glaze, Zoya & Essie Comparisons

Hi guys! Today I have a ton of comparisons for you, these are for all of the Fall 2013 Collections I've reviewed so far including OPI, China Glaze, Zoya & Essie. There were a bunch that you guys wanted to see that unfortunately I couldn't do for reasons like not owning the polishes you wanted to see compared or just not being able to find them in my stash. For those that requested ones I didn't do I hope you're able to find them on another blog!

Small note about these comparisons, sometimes the differences in polishes are slight and more noticeable in person than in photos. When this is the case I mention it, sometimes things just don't translate in photos as obviously as they do in person! Check out all the comparisons after the jump!

*some polishes in this post were press samples, some were purchased by me*

Femme Fatale Fatal Attraction

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice long weekend, mine was good! I wish I had 3 day weekends every week haha! It was nice to feel like I finally got a weekend, that extra day actually gives me a chance to relax...I'm sure going back to work today is going to suck :(

Today I have a polish from Femme Fatale called Fatal Attraction to share with you guys. This is my first polish from Femme Fatale, I've been eyeing this brand for a while but usually the ones I'm after are sold out so I've never managed to get my paws on any. Fatal Attraction is a dark magenta base with a pretty scattered holographic effect. The formula was good, it was a touch on the thick side but it didn't affect application. The opacity was also good, I used 2 coats for my photos. This did dry down a bit dull, I needed a couple coats of top coat to get it smooth. All of the photos in this post are in natural sunlight.

Femme Fatale is available at Llarowe, Harlow & Co, Color4Nails, Norway Nails, Beauty So Fly and of through Femme Fatale. Price varies depending on where you buy from.
