Maybelline Vintage Leather Lasting Lilac & Mod Moss

Hi guys! Hope you're all having a great weekend so far! Today I have 2 polishes from the LE Vintage Leather Collection Maybelline recently put out to share with you! I heard about these a while back over on Nouveau Cheap and went hunting for them but didn't actually find them until a week or so ago at Target. In total I think there are 10 of these but only 2 of them caught my eye enough to buy them

Lasting Lilac is a red toned purple with flakes of glitter and shimmer. I'm not quite sure how to describe the flakies, I wouldn't call them iridescent since they don't seem to flash any colors but I also wouldn't call them white. Whatever they are...I am a fan haha! The formula was meh...not bad...not good. It was sheer and patchy on the first coat, I did have issues getting it to even out but I was happy with how it looked after 3 coats. One thing I loved about this...it was SUPER fast drying! Lasting Lilac dries down to a really nice matte finish, I quite liked how this looked! All photos below are in natural sunlight and without top coat.

Mod Moss is an olive green with red/orange shimmer and flakes of glitter. YUS this one is *so* me...I actually bought it because it reminded me of a more olive version of my piCture pOlish shade, Mallard. Like Lasting Lilac this dried matte, I actually didn't really love it that way (it looked kind of flat that way) but no worries because it's all kinds of awesome with top coat. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque...it could be a 1 coater if you were very careful. I had some minor issues with this balding a bit if I went over a spot more than once but other than that there were no issues and this was very fast drying! I used 2 coats for the photos below, all photos are in natural sunlight.

Below is Mod Moss with top coat...it was beautiful this way!

The Vintage Leather Collection from Maybelline is available now, I got mine at Target but they should be available at drugstores like CVS and Walgreens also!

  4. Moss looks much better with the clear shinny topper - I love, love the Lilac...I don't normally buy this brand as it never lasts even 1 day on me before chipping but I might just pick this one up if I can find it that is.

  6. Lovley Colors. Here in Germany are only 4 Colors avaible. It's so sad, 'cause the great colors you can only get in the USA.:( *Pfffffffff*

When I first saw these standing i was like *uraks* ugly colors. But then i saw the swatches and finishes, and now they they adorn my collection. :)

  12. I liked these so much I bought all of them. It took me a while to find the whole collection though. Only one of the three Walgreens by me had them. The three greens are all very similar in color.

  13. I went slow with application and let it dry completely between coats for the purple one. The green was much easier to apply.

  14. If you're looking for a color like Mallard you should try Revlon Rain Forest! Almost exactly the same just minus flakes, only the shimmer! It caught my eye at Target the other day and I had to buy it lol
