Whimsical Ideas by Pam Halloween 2013 Hallowhimsy Collection Swatches

Happy Friday! Anyone have big plans this weekend? My only plans are marathoning Breaking Bad. I finally decided to hop on the bandwagon...I couldn't take it anymore and had to see what the fuss was about. So far I like it, I can see why everyone is so obsessed! Today I have the Whimsical Ideas by Pam Hallowhimsy Collection to share with you! This year Pam has put out 5 new polishes are re-released one of last years Halloween favorites! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Bats In The Belfry is purple, neon green, grey and black glitter in various shapes/sizes in a clear base. I really love the mix of glitter in this one, especially that neon glitter! It gives such a nice pop to this polish! The formula was good, it wasn't thick at all. I found it best to dab on for best glitter coverage, I used 2 coats over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Boo is a sheer blueish grey base with a beautiful reddish pink shimmer. This one came out last year and I never picked it up for whatever reason...I don't think photos do it much justice. It's so pretty in person, it's nice and versatile because of the sheer base, you can layer it over so many base colors and it totally transforms the polish. I decided to layer Boo over Zoya Carey, it was the closest thing I could find in my stash to the base color of the polish. I've seen Boo over black also and it's pretty awesome that way! The formula was good, this is too sheer for me to wear on it's own but if you don't mind the sheerness it's pretty on it's own. I used 2 coats over Carey for the photos below

Lighting: Shade

Eye of Kewt is a black jelly base with various sizes of orange glitter. This was inspired by Kismet's Eyes...for those that don't know Kismet is Pam's cat! This is pretty much the perfect Halloween shade, you can't really go wrong with black and orange right?!? The formula was good, the black was a bit sheer at first but it built up easily. I used 3 coats for full opacity, this would be great layered over black also!

Lighting: Shade

Itsy Bitsy Spider is black, silver and purple glitter in a vibrant purple jelly base. There is also a bit of a pink shimmer but you can't really see it in  my photos :( This is my hands down favorite of the collection and one of my favorite Whimy's to date. It's just the perfect purple and it has so much depth to it with the glitter...I just love it! If you're a purple fan you're probably going to need this in your life. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply. The opacity was also good, I used 3 coats for full opacity but 2 coats would work for those of you with shorter nails!

Thanks is orange, bronze, caramel, gold and red glitter in a clear base. The glitters are various sizes but overall they are all on the small side. This is perfect for Thanksgiving for those of us that celebrate it, it has the perfect name for that too! The formula was really nice, it wasn't thick at all and the glitter payoff was fantastic. I used 1 coat over China Glaze Bump In The Night for the photos below.

The Great Punkin is light orange, purple, green and black glitter in a sheer pumpkin orange base. I really like this one, it's unusual and I feel like I haven't seen it before! The base is on the sheer side, you could probably get it opaque on it's own in 4-5 coats depending on your nail length but I decided to layer it! I used 2 coats over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the photos below, I searched my stash for the perfect orange to put this over then I decided to put it over a white so that the pretty base color could shine! The formula was good, I had no application issues and the glitter payoff was great.

  3. Itsy Bitsy Spider is the prettiest! Also, enjoy Breaking Bad. You will not be disappointed. As you know the finale is Sunday night. I am both excited and sad. Probably one of the best, if not the best, dramatic TV shows ever! ;D

  6. I weirdly am not in love with Itsy Bitsy Spider - it's a nice purple, but it's not wowing me. The Great Punkin in the showstopper for me in this collection - I've never seen anything like it, and it's like, ugly-pretty. I just wish it was more opaque...

    Thanks for the swatches!
