Saturday Spam: KBShimmer

Hi guys, hope you're all having a great weekend so far! Today I have a bit of swatch spam for you yay!! It's a been a couple minutes since I had a Saturday Spam post..hopefully they will start to be more regular since they are some of my favorite posts to do. I just like to throw pretty pictures at you that aren't all a part of 1 collection. Today's Saturday Spam is a few polishes from KBShimmer. KBShimmer has become one of my favorite indies over the past year...these polishes are some of Christy's older shades that came out before I pulled my head out of the sand and finally hopped on the KBShimmer bandwagon haha! Check out all the spam after the jump!

Band Geek is a black jelly base packed with gold, silver and copper glitter. I'm a big fan of the depth this has with all that glitter! The formula was good, it can be a touch thick due to the glitter but I didn't have any issues with application. I used 3 coats on it's own for the photos below.

Berry Patch is a milky purple toned pink crelly base with blue, purple, pink and holographic glitter. This polish was inspired by frozen smoothies and I can definitely see that in the polish...it looks so creamy and yummy! The formula was good on this one, it is a touch on the sheer side so it might be best to layer it over a similar base color. I used 3 coats on it's own for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Don't Teal Anyone is a dark teal crelly base with pink, gold and blue glitter in different sizes and shapes. If you aren't a fan of bar glitter you might like this anyway, the bar glitter in here is pretty tiny and not super visible on the nail. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Lilac Dreams is a purple to pink glitter bomb. Depending on the light it shifts between the two colors. There is also a bit of blue glitter in the mix that gives it some dimension. I really like this one, if you liked Teal Another Tail from the Fall Collection you'll probably like this also...it's similar in the finish/look. The formula was good, it's nice and opaque on it's own with 3 coats but you could also layer it if you wanted to. I bet it would look great over a dark base.

Lighting: Shade

No Whine Left is a deep plum crelly base with blue, fuchsia and purple glitter. I love how vampy this one is! The formula was good, a touch on the sheer side though. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Oh Splat! is a white crelly base with multicolored glitter in various sizes/shapes. This is probably the most popular of all the KBShimmer polishes, it's definitely the polish I've always associated with the brand! The formula was good, this is opaque on it's own in 3 coats or you can layer it over white to get the same effect with 2 coats.

Lighting: Shade

Proud Peacock is a teal crelly loaded with black, blue, white, purple and fuchsia glitter in all kinds of shapes and sizes. There is a lot going on here, more than even I was able to get onto the nail! The formula was good, it was nice and opaque in 2 coats.

Lighting: Shade

Quantum Leaf is a shimmery mustard yellow base with gold, red and orange glitter. Sadly this is no longer available  :( but I wanted to show it anyway because I kind of love it. It's one of those colors that I can totally see people hating but I love it! The formula was good, it was much more opaque than I was expecting! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Shipwreck is a deep blue jelly base packed with blue, green and purple glitter. This is another favorite for me, I love all the depth it has! The formula was good but a little more watery that I personally love, I had no issues with application though. This was on the sheer side but it's nice a glitter dense so that helped a bunch with coverage. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Toucan Touch This is a bright chartreuse crelly base with yellow, blue and orange glitter. This is being discontinued so if you want it go get it soon (if it's even still available right now). I saw Christy post on the KBShimmer Facebook page a couple weeks back that this was being discontinued so I immediately went and bought it lol! The formula was good, it was nice and opaque in 2 coats

Lighting: Shade

Witch Way? is a deep purple jelly base with a ton of holographic glitter mixed in. It looks like the night sky, I love it! The formula was good, it was a bit on the sheer side but it built easily. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

All shades in this post with the exception of Quantum Leaf (because it is now discontinued :((( ) are available at KBShimmer.com. If you live outside the US you can find them at Harlow & Co!

  8. Great post! KBShimmer is one of my favorite indie brands. My favorite polish of theirs that I have is Elle, but I also really love Don't Teal Anyone. I have yet to wear Proud Peacock but I should change that soon.
