Jessica Fall 2013 A Night At The Opera Collection Swatches

Hi guys, hope you all had a good weekend! Today I have the Fall Collection from Jessica Cosmetics to share with you! The collection is called A Night At The Opera and features 6 new shades...2 cremes and 4 shimmers! I always look forward to new Jessica Collections, they are one of those brands that makes really beautiful polishes but not a ton of people know about them for some reason.

Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Blue Aria is a dark blackened blue creme. This does tend to look black in most lighting but when you put it next to a true black you can see the blue tone much better. The formula was good, it was a really nice consistency and the opacity was great. I used 2 coats for the photos below, all photos are in natural sunlight.

Opening Night is a shimmery fuchsia. This has a tiny bit of a pink duochrome to it but it's pretty subtle. The formula was great, I loved how it applied and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Overture is a shimmery orange/copper. This is my favorite of the collection, I love how rich the color is...it feels very fall to me! The formula was again, pretty great! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Prima Donna is a dark purple shimmer. This leans a little bit blue also depending on the lighting that you're in. The formula was again really nice, as was the opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Standing Ovation is a blue/green duochrome. I don't *love* this out in the sun since it does tend to show brush strokes...but in the shade it's gorgeous. The shift is from a nice green leaning teal to a blue leaning teal! The formula was good but a little bit on the thick side. The thickness did not give me any issues whiling applying the polish. I used 2 coats for full opacity.

Velvet & Pearls is a black creme. Not the most exciting polish ever but seeing as I use black polishes more than most other shades it's a welcome addition to my stash...I'm sure you'll see it a lot in layering! The formula was good, it was nearly a 1 coater but due to a few patchy spots I used 2 coats for full opacity. Both photos below are in natural sunlight.

The A Night At The Opera Collection is available now at JessicaCosmetics.com, each polish retails for $8.40

  3. Blue Aria looks like Essie - After School Boy Blazer and Opening Night like Essie - The Lace is On. Looking at your swatch pictures of the two possible dupes, they appear to be very similar. Any off-the-top-of-your-head differences?

  4. I have 3 Jessica pastels. The Lime Cooler formula was awesome, but the Strawberry Shake It was terrible. Your swatches on the fall colors are beautiful. I just may give Jessica polish another try.
