NOTD: Purple Ombre Waterfalls

Hi guys! Today I have a nail art post for ya...yay! Kirsten from Glitta Gloves and I have been trying to do matching nail art every month (you can see my last one on Instagram here), I like that its making me step out of my box a little bit and these manis are fun to do! This month we decided on a purple and metallic theme. I tried and failed a few other ides but finally ended up with an Ombre Waterfalls kind of look, I'm really happy with how it turned out!

For the Ombre I used (from Light to Dark) Essie Lilacism, Zoya Malia, Zoya Mira and Zoya Pinta. The metallic waterfalls are done with OPI This Gown Needs A Crown and Orly Luxe. I was inspired by all the beautiful waterfall mani's that Sammy from The Nailasaurus has done and I used her tutorial as the foundation for my mani. I switched it up a little bit by doing more curved whispy lines but the idea is the same. If you want to check out Sammy's tutorial for the look you can find it on her blog, here. For those wondering what I used on my thumb the base was OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls...it was impossible to photograph which is why you won't see it in any of the photos lol!

Make sure you check our Kirsten's mani on her blog also, it's too cute!!

  8. This is beautiful. I love the ombre look and the waterfall design with the glitter. How did I miss that you and Kirsten were doing matching nail art? I follow her too. That is a fun and creative idea. It seems like it would be easier to come up with a design that way, as it is now I can't even settle on a color. Knowing I was limited to purple and metallic already takes the hardest part out of the equation. IF you knew how many times I change my mind on colors before a mani actually gets on my hands.... and then at the last hour I am rushing before bedtime trying to get finished and the polish to set so there will not be those dreaded sheet prints in the morning.
