Jessica Effects: Glitzy Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have a new-ish collection from Jessica to share with you. This collection is part of their Effects line and it called Glitzy. I believe it came out back towards the end of June. The Collection is 6 glitter packed toppers that work well over a variety of colors! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Bling in Black is small black and white glitter in a clear base. I feel like I have a bajillion black and white glitters but I like that this one is a bit different, it doesn't have the big hex glitter or bar glitter that most of the others have. The formula was a bit on the thick side but application was easy and the glitter payoff was good. I used 1 coat over Seche Silly but Sensible for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Glam It Up is blurple and silver glitter in a clear base. Depending on your base color the blurple can either lean more blue or more purple, I feel like it leans more purple over my layering. The formula was good, it wasn't thick and application was easy. Glitter payoff was also good, I used 1 coat over CND Vinylux Fedora.

Razzle Dazzle is bright blue and silver holographic bar glitter in a clear base. The glitter was kind of sink-y in this so you'll need to put the bottle upside down before applying it so that it can re-distribute. Other than that the formula was good and the glitter payoff was nice. I used 1 coat over CND Vinylux Masquerade for the photos below.

Sizzle is various sizes & shapes of red glitter in a clear base. I always have a weird love for red glitter, so this is a favorite for me! The formula was really nice, it wasn't thick at all. The glitter payoff was great! I used 1 coat over Jessica Blue Aria for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Sparkles is a holographic glitter bomb. There is a nice mix of medium sized hex and tiny holographic glitter. This was so much better in person than it's translating on camera! the formula was good, this did have a bit of a grey tint to the base so it's something to be aware of when you layer it. I used 1 coat over Seche Happy, As Is for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Star Spangles is silver, red and blue glitter in a clear base. Perfect for the 4th of July...or just whenever haha1 The formula was great, the glitter payoff was pretty awesome and I loved the consistency. I used 1 coat over Jessica Velvet & Pearls for the photos below.

  1. I like Sizzle very much. Others really aren't my style. It's good to know this one has great formula too.

I know this post was about the glitter, but I literally can't keep my eyes off CND Vinylux Masquerade! It's beautiful!
