October 2013 PopSugar Must Have Box

Happy Friday! Anyone have big plans this weekend? I'm going to see Paramore tomorrow, it should be a fun time even though I'll probably be like the oldest person there who isn't there with their child or something. I'm going to be doing a mani for the concert that I'll be posting tomorrow!

Today I have my PopSugar Must Have box for October to share with you guys. I posted about it on twitter the other day and a few people wanted to see it so I decided to post what was in it. This is a monthly box, much like Birchbox etc... it's on the more expensive side ($35 a month I believe, not 100% sure since tax is added to mine) but I've yet to be disappointed so I don't mind paying a bit more because I feel like I get my money's worth. The PopSugar Must Have box is usually full of both beauty and every day items, I've been signed up since July and have gotten everything from make up to scarves to jewelry and more...I like how you really never know what you might get, I look forward to when these arrive! If you guys like seeing these let me know and I can post them every month!

First up is The Can't Cook Book by Jessica Seinfeld. This is for those of us who fail at cooking, it's full of easy recipes that are easy to execute. This is perfect for me because the only thing I'm actually good at cooking is like mac & cheese lol!I feel like I'm going to get a lot of use out of this!

Next was the The Wet Brush, this brush is meant to be used on wet hair and it doesn't tug, tear, pull, rip etc which is great! This is what I was most excited about in the box, I saw these back at ISSE in January and almost bought one but I got distracted and forgot to go back to the booth. I've used this already and I love how gentle it was while brushing through my hair right after a shower! If you have tangle-y hair out of the shower this is something you might like also!

Next was a little cloth bag that held a Gorjana Charity Bali Bead Bracelet. It's hot pink and gold...I love how delicate it looks, aside from being pretty I like that if you buy this from the Gorjana website 100% of the proceeds go to the charity Breast Cancer Connections.

Next in the box was a duo of a top coat and polish from Julep. I don't care for the brand so this has already been given away to a friend.

Next in the box was a little packet of Jane Tran Bobby Pins, 6 in total. I like how these are a little more fancy than regular bobby pins, I know I'll get a lot of use out of them! She has a ton of super cute designs on her website if you've ever wanted fancy bobby pins or other hair accessories!

There were a couple of items from NYX in this month's box, a Brown Liquid Liner and a Smokey Shadow Palette. I haven't had a chance to try either of these yet but I like NYX makeup so I'm sure they will be good. I really like the shades in the palette I got and I don't already own a brown liquid liner so they are both welcome additions to my makeup collection.

here is a better look at the palette!

Last but yummiest was a GIANT Halloween appropriate rice crispy treat from The Crispery. I already ate this and it was delicious...I love rice crispy treats. In addition to being able to order these online they are also available at a lot of stores throughout the US, there is a list on their website if you're interested

You know any kind of sample box post wouldn't be complete without Degen getting all up in my business while taking photos. Clearly he was unimpressed that this box had no dog toys or treats in it.

He checked it out thoroughly, overall I think he also approves of PopSugar, he kept trying to run off with the little packet of bobby pins.

Overall October's box was great, the value was insane..I believe everything in the box added up to being worth around $130...for $35 I'd say that was well worth it! If you want to sign up for visit musthave.popsugar.com (that is my referral link, FYI).

  3. I'm sure I could find out somewhere but what was your issue with Julep polishes? I don't have any because they're expensive but they're just about the only brand I don't have! Application issues, wear poorly?

  4. have you tried the Julep Freedom Top Coat? I love it over glitters, it doesn't get all nommed up by the glitter.
