Cadillacquer Breaking Bad Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Hope you all had a great weekend! Today I have the Breaking Bad Collection from Cadillacquer to share with you! This 12 piece collection was inspired by the show Breaking Bad, I don't know about you guys but I loved Breaking Bad so this collection excites me! I was really late on the bandwagon for the show but I marathoned it like a boss in a couple weeks a few months ago...I can't believe it took me so long to finally sit down and watch it. This collection is all kinds of gorgeous, I think you guys will love it as much as I do! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Formula wise all 12 polishes in this collection were fantastic and consistent across all 12 of them. The consistency was great as was the opacity. I used 2 coats for all of the swatches in this post. All of the photos (except for 1 that is labelled) were taken in natural sunlight.

Better Call Saul! is a blue base with turquoise shimmer and a subtle scattered holo.

Blowfish is a light dusty green with purple/pink shimmer and a scattered holo.

Cap'n Cook is a rich purple with a strong pink shimmer and a scattered holo.

Car Wash is a dark, slightly dusty, blue with a subtle pink shimmer and scattered holo.

Crystal is a teal leaning blue with turquoise shimmer and a subtle scattered holo.

I'm The One Who Knocks is a dark green base with lighter green shimmer and a subtle holo. This is my favorite of the entire collection, it's a gorgeous shade of green and I kinda love the name haha!

Mr. White is a black base with a heavy blue to purple duochrome shimmer and a scattered holo.

Lighting: Shade

Pink Teddy Bear is a black base with bright pink shimmer and a scattered holo. The pink shimmer in this is something special, I don't think it translates as pretty as it is in person in photos. The way they sparkled when the sun hit the nail was gorgeous.

Pinkman is a light pink with a golden shimmer and scattered holo.

Say My Name is a dark brown toned purple with a strong blue shimmer and scattered holo. The holo in this one is the strongest of the bunch!

There's No Better Reason is a dark blackened green with gold shimmer and a scattered holo.

Yeah Science! is a light lavender with reddish pink shimmer and a scattered holo.

I also wanted to show you guys the labels on the bottles for this collection. I think they are SO cute and perfect for a Breaking Bad Collection!

Overall I think this whole collection is fantastic, Cadillacquer has quickly become a favorite indie brand for me. I love the inspiration behind the collection and all of the polishes are seriously beautiful...you also can't beat the great formula that all 12 had!

Cadillacquer is available for $12.50 a bottle at Cadillacquer.com, this brand is from Switzerland so shipping might take a little longer than normal if you live in the US. You can also find Cadillacquer at several etailers like Harlow & Co and Llarowe. For a full list of etailers check out the Cadillacquer website.

  1. Blowfish is gorgeous!! Did you test out how well they fair against chipping? And does the glitter make them a nightmare to get off? xx

I'm in the middle of watching the show (watching 3rd season now) and I love it. And I love scattered holos! So when I saw this collection it was like "OMG it's gorgeous, I want all 12 of them!!" Then I understood it means $150 and tried to cool down a bit... Well, I've ordered 7 of them so far and now waiting-waiting-waiting for my order to arrive (Russian post is terribly slow...)

Do you think Better Call Saul is a little frosty?

  3. I loved Breaking Bad and miss it to this day. Probably one of the best shows in TV history! These polishes are amazing! What a cool concept. I love "I'm the One Who Knocks" because that is my all-time favorite line from that show! Excellent swatches as always. :D

  4. I haven't wear tested them, sorry. Removal was easy, just like a regular shimmer

  8. I was secretly hoping you would do a swatch review on this. I was tempted to buy it at my local Rite aid since they had the collection available, however I didn't want to buy it right away till I saw swatches of them. And I have for a few, but none that really caught my attention. (I call your blog my Encyclopedia of swatches! lol) so I'm really glad you did this swatch! I think i might go pink up a few of them :) Thanks for the great post!

  9. The "Wintermint" one is totally a dupe of Mermaid's Dream by DL eh?!

  10. I picked up Italian Leather along with 3 other shades. Absolutely love the way they apply! Thanks for the swatches! :)

  11. I have several of them, and these are my two favorites for scent! A few of them are, sadly, too sickly sweet for my tastes.

  12. Y u no show fresh linen with glitter on top?

  13. Both colours are so pretty, and I'm really curious about the scents after reading a few reviews on these! Knowing my country, these will probably take a year or two to actually be released (like the lip butters and lip crayons) >_<

  14. I did, it was in my KBShimmer Winter Collection post last week

  15. no idea, I don't own either of them...sorry!

  16. Do you by chance know how Italian Leather compares with Essie Armed and Ready? It seems like they could potentially be similar. I love Armed and Ready and I'm wondering if Italian Leather is as close as I'm imagining! :)

  17. I haven't put them side by side but I think the Revlon is more noticeably green. I always felt like the Essie looked brown on me

  18. I agree... fresh scent is always great! NOt crazy at all! Both shades are great, but I love the greener one :)

  19. I dont understand why polishes are scented! There are million different things we put on that are scented. I bought Ruby Wing strawberry shortcake and the scent was so strong it gave me a headache. I really liked the other polishes in the collection but, knowing how strong the smell is I dont feel like getting them :/ I highly doubt people will buy polishes based on smell...what are polish companies thinking?!?! ugh!

  20. I guess I'm the only one who thinks that the polish doesn't really stand for the names chosen for them. Don't get me wrong, the polishes are GORGEOUS. I especially love the lighter colors. But if I were to look at this collection, I wouldn't instantly think Breaking Bad. I think you showed a Dexter collection and those polishes were more true to the show...

  21. Some people (like me) buy scented polishes specifically for the scent. I even mentioned doing that in this post lol

  22. I love the colour of Fresh Linen!

  23. I just reviewed Autumn Spice! I thought the scent wasn't long lasting enough, though at first it was perfect. I love the color of Italian Leather here!

  24. I picked up 4 of these, and I was concerned about the scent being strong. I usually get a headache every time I switch perfumes or shampoos, so I've been a little afraid to try them out. Glad I saw this review - I'm going to give mine a go. It's funny, because these 2 you reviewed are 2 of the ones I bought, and for the exact same reasons!

  25. Love Cadillacquer, and love Breaking Bad, so I was super excited when I heard about this collection! However, I have to agree that I don't think it translated very well. Also, it would have made more sense on the Car Wash label to have the W, S, or As in a box, since there is no Wa element. Pretty polishes though!!

  26. I bought Autumn Spice for both the amazing color and the scent, though I too was worried about it being too strong. I'm prone to headaches as it is but this polish gave me no problems with that at all. The scent is subtle and the polish is amazing, if there is one other color from this collection you should pick up it's definitely Autumn Spice!

  27. I really like the look of the Italian Leather.

  28. I am wearing Say My Name as I type, and I am in LOOVE with this polish (as I was with that moment on the show)!!! The plumy purple is a really gorgeous color - deep and rich (and it plays well with my pale skin). The holo/blue shimmer imparts a really nice effect. I think this polish is pretty darn special. Also the formula was perfect - opaque for me in two coats. I want to try Pinkman just for the name alone, but I think that light pink would just not look good with my skin tone. Yeah Science! is a very pretty shade - how strong is the holo? Pink Teddy Bear is next on my to-get list. Thanks for the gorgeous swatches!!!

  29. It's subtle but visible in the sunlight
