KBShimmer Winter 2013 Blogger Collection Swatches + Giveaway

Hi guys! Today I have an exciting post for you, it's the KBShimmer Winter 2013 Blogger Collection. This collection is 11 polishes that are all collaborations with fabulous bloggers (including me yay!). I had a ton of fun creating my shade with Christy and I was dying to see what everyone else was going to come up with. I know I say it like every time I post any kind of blogger collaboration but these kinds of polishes are my favorite. I  always love reading about the inspiration behind these polishes, I feel like I get to know something about the bloggers that I love and the polishes are always fun and creative!

In addition to the swatches I also have a huge giveaway at the end of the post, you can win the entire Blogger Collection...the giveaway is open internationally woohoo! Click the read more button below to collage for all of the swatches and to enter the giveaway!

Christmas Now is a green jelly with mulch-colored square, circle and star glitter. This is a collaboration with Crystal from Crystal's Crazy Combos, if you could imagine everything about Christmas stuffed into a bottle this would be it! The formula was good, it is a touch sheer because of the jelly base but its easy to build and get opaque on it's own. This also looks great layered over other shades, Crystal showed it over a silver foil on her blog and I love it that way! I used 3 coats + top coat for the photos below.

Green Hex and Glam is a forest green jelly with various sizes of holographic hex glitter. This is a collaboration with Kayla of  Nails by Kayla Shevonne! This polish was originally a collaboration with Kayla in celebration of her 3 year blogging anniversary and I am SO glad Christy decided to include it in the Winter Collection. I have been seriously lusting after it since Kayla first posted about it! The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the opacity was easy to build up. I would recommend putting this upside down for a few minutes before applying it so that the glitter can redistribute into the bottle, you might also need to fish a little bit for the bigger hex glitter pieces. I used 3 coats + top coat for the photos below.

I Only Have Ice For You is a glitter topper with white flakes of glitter and lots of holographic bits of glitter. This is a collaboration with Sarah of Chalkboard Nails. This is one of my favorites in the collection, it's such an understated glitter and it can be layered over anything to give it that little extra sparkle without being all crazy. This looks great over pretty much any base color, I've tried it over a ton of polishes and have yet to find a combo I didn't like! The formula was great, it was a nice consistency and the glitter payoff it great. I used 1 coat + top coat over I'd Rather Be With Blue and Plum Tuckered Out for the photos below.

I'd Rather Be With Blue is a matte light blue with a beautiful silver shimmer. This is a collaboration with Lisa of Cosmetic Sanctuary. This is another favorite for me, it's a beautiful shade of blue that's perfect for winter! I really enjoy this matte and with top coat, it looks great either way. The formula was really nice, the consistency was perfect as was the opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

The next 2 photos are I'd Rather Be With Blue with top coat!

Merry Pinkmas is a bubblegum pink crelly with red, green, and neon glitter in different shapes and sizes. This is a collaboration with Cris from Let Them Have Polish. This shade was inspired by the holiday mani's Cris does with a pink theme! If you've never seen any of Cris's Pinkmas posts you should go check them out, they are too cute! The formula was good, it was a touch sheer at first but easy to build up to full opacity and I had no application issues. I used 3 coats + top coat for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Plum Tuckered Out is a rich purple creme loaded with blue shimmer. This is a collaboration with Sheila of Pointless Cafe! I feel like Sheila and I are sisters in collaboration shades, our Picture Polish collaboration shades launched together and here we are again with more collaborations! I love what Sheila came up with, you all know I love a good shimmer and this is gorgeous! The shimmer is nice and noticeable in the sunlight and regular indoor lighting, in lower lighting it's a little hidden but it gave the polish nice depth. The formula was great, it was a nice consistency and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats + top coat for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Sand In My Stocking is a glitter bomb packed with gold, blue, orange, white, tan and brown glitter. This is my collaboration shade and it's inspired by what I like to call a So Cal Snowman...aka a Snowman made of sand because we don't have snow where I live, we only have the beach. You can read more about my shade and see it over more base colors here: http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2013/10/kbshimmer-sand-in-my-stocking-swatches.html

Snow Much Fun is a light blue jelly with white glitter in various sizes and shapes including snowflake glitter! This is a collaboration with Victoria of Manicurator. I really like this one, I definitely have nothing like it in my stash, it's the first time I've owned anything with snowflake glitter! This is great on it's own and layered, I layered it over I'd Rather Be With Blue for the photos below. I did have some issues with the one, the snowflake glitter required a little bit of fishing because it's heavy and wants to sink to the bottom of the bottle. I also noticed that because of the thickness of the snowflake glitter it didn't always want to sit flat onto the nail. If you have very curved nails this could be an issue for you, it didn't really bug me too much and I will definitely wear this again but I could still feel it sticking up after top coat and wanted to mention it. I included the best photo I could manage to get of what I mean below. I used 2 coats + top coat for the photos below.

my apologies for the blurryness :(

Strung Out is a black jelly with gold, silver, green, blue and red circle glitter. This is a collaboration with the lovely Jackie of Candy Coated Tips. I adore Jackie and was so excited to see her shade, she's one of the few bloggers I've met in real life! I love the Christmas Lights inspiration behind this shade and all the circle glitter, I love me some circle glitter! The formula was good, this is a bit sheer because of the jelly base but it builds up to full opacity on its own easily. This is great layered over black aswell. I used 3 coats on it's own + top coat for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Toast-ess With The Mostest is a glitter topper full of pink, gold and silver circle glitter (there is also some hex and micro glitter also but who cares when you have all that circle glitter lol). This is a collaboration with Valesha of Peachy Polish. Again you guys know me and my extreme love of circle glitter, this is perfection. The inspiration behind this shade was champagne and I think the colors and glitter shapes really lend themselves well to that! The formula was great, it was very glitter dense and easy to get a lot of glitter onto the nail. I used 1 coat + top coat over Nails Inc Black Taxi for the photos below. When I actually wore this I put it over Orly Lemonade, it was beautiful that way also!

Lighting: Shade

Will Yule Marry Me? is a dusty navy blue crelly with silver and holographic hex and circle glitter. This is a collaboration with Chelsea of The Nail Network. The inspiration behind this shade is her Christmas Eve engagement last year. What a sweet inspiration right?!? I love the deep navy base of this and how the glitters peek out. The formula was really nice, the opacity was good and it was easy to apply. I used 2 coats + top coat for the photos below.
