Lac Attack Magical Mischief Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have a fun post for you, you may remember a collection from last year that Lac Attack and Kirsten from Glitta Gloves collaborated on inspired by Harry Potter called Magical Musings. Well, Kirsten and Ana from Lac Attack just recently released another set of Harry Potter inspired polishes in the Magical Mischief Collection! This collection is full of shimmers, glitters and even a glow in the dark polish! These are available right now for presale, and the presale includes a special polish that will not be available in the regular sale! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

APWBD (Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore), inspired by the great Headmaster of Hogwarts. This is a mixture of pastel-ish glitter in various shapes and sizes in a glow in the dark base. This glows nice and bright green in the dark! The formula was a touch thick, but I had no application issues. I used 1 coat over Formula X Thrilling for the photos below.

Lighting: My dark garage lol

Dobby The Free Elf  is a dark green jelly base with green hex glitter and coppery/maroon hex and bar glitter. This is of course inspired by Dobby. I'm not even a big Harry Potter nut but tears were shed when Dobby died in the movie :( I always liked Dobby for some reason. The formula was ok, I did have some issues with some of the green hex glitter curling a little bit and some of the bar glitter was tricky to work with because of how long it is. You can layer this or wear it on it's own, I used 3 coats on its own for the photos below.

Every Flavour Beans is a multi colored glitter bomb. This is the polish that is only available when you pre-order from Lac Attack so if you like it make sure you run over and get your pre-order in before the sale ends! The formula was good, it was nice and glitter dense without being thick. I used 1 coat over Formula X Unmistakeable for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Loony Lovegood is a light pink toned lavender crelly base with pastel hex glitter and star glitter. This is inspired by Luna Lovegood, she was one of my favorite characters in the movies. I always liked how dingy she seemed, like you couldn't help but like her because of that lol! The formula was good, you could layer this if you wanted to but I quite like it on it's own. This was a bit sheer at first but it was opaque in 3 coats, which is what I used for my photos.

Mad-Eye is blue and black hex and bar glitter in a clear base. This is named after Alastor Moody, Auror extraordinaire! I have to laugh about this one because I was talking to Kirsten about these before she posted her swatches and I said, I wonder if we're going to do any of the same combos and sure enough...we both layered this over light grey. Great minds think alike! The formula was good, the glitter payoff was great and application was easy. I used 1 coat over Formula X Extraordinary for the photos below.

Moony is a silver and blue foil like microglitter. This is named after Remus Lupin! This one is interesting, I like how dense the glitter was and how icy it looks! The formula was good, it wasn't thick but it was very opaque. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Nymphadora is various sizes and shapes of iridescent glitter in a clear base. This is named after Nymphadora Tonks. I really like this one also, it will look good over pretty much any base color! The formula was on the thick side but I found it easy to apply and the glitter payoff was good. I used 1 coat over Formula X Omni for the photos below.

Padfoot is a red toned brown with a subtle holo. This is a nod to Sirius Black and his nickname in school. The holo is on the subtle side but visible out in the sun. The formula was good, the consistency and opacity were both nice. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

The Brightest Witch is a dusty teal blue crelly base with  black, silver, blue and purple glitter throughout. This is named after Hermione Granger, she was another favorite character of mine...she was such a know it all, I loved it haha! The formula was ok on this one, I had some issues with the glitter all wanting to bunch at the free edge of the nail but that might just be me applying it weirdly and not the fault of the polish. This was a bit sheer at first but it builds to full opacity easily. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

The Chosen One is a mixture of different shapes and sizes of red glitter with gold shimmer in a clear base. This is of course a nod to Harry Potter! I like the mix of glitter in this one, I wish  my camera could have had an easier time taking a good photo of it lol! The formula was good, the glitter payoff was good and it wasn't thick. I used 1 coat over Formula X Infatuated for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Weasley Is Our King is an orange shimmer. I love the color of this, I can't think of anything quite like it in my stash! The formula was a bit tricky, it was on the thick side and it didn't want to level out on the nail. I ended up taking it off and thinning it and it was much better then. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Overall I like the collection, there are some fun shades in here and they are perfect for those of you who love Harry Potter! My favorites are Loony Lovegood and APWBD.

The Magical Mischief Collection is available for Pre-Order from Lac Attack now, you can check them out at http://www.lacattack.com/, for more info about the Presale check out Lac Attack on Facebook.

  1. Mad-Eye and Nymphadora are so purdy! <3 Wish I could get my hands on these, but too bad shipping (if they even ship to my country) would probably cost more than the polish, lol.
