Saturday Spam: Maya Cosmetics

Hi guys! Hope you're having a good weekend so far, I'm probably at the pet cancer walk with Degen right now! Tomorrow I'm going to be at the Love, Preview event in Costa Mesa. I'm REALLY excited about it. There are going to be a bunch of fantastic indie polish  makers there, I can't wait to meet them and buy tons of stuff (my poor bank account!)

Today I have a bit of Maya Cosmetics spam for ya! Maya Cosmetics is one of those indie brands that makes really interesting and beautiful polishes that aren't all glitter bombs. It's one of those brands that I'm always surprised more people don't know of! I have a whole assortment of shades for you, some of these are new and some are from older collections. Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Cosmic is a dark grey base with a heavy green shimmer and iridescent glitter. I love this one, it almost has a duochrome look to it in lower lighting and the glitter makes it something special. The formula was great, it was easy to apply and opaque in 2 coats.

Lighting: Shade

Crush is a dark navy base with flakes of multicolored shimmer. I like when polishes have this kind of flake like shimmer, it adds such a beautiful sparkle and it gives the polish a lot of depth. The formula was great, nice and opaque and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Glitter Is The New Black is a black base with black, silver, holo, pink, purple, and orange micro glitter. It looks like a starry sky! The formula was a touch on the thick side, I thinned mine a bit and that helped a ton. This was super opaque and pretty much opaque in 1 coat. I ended up using 2 coats but the second was barely needed.

Gypsy is a dusty olive green base packed with gold flecks, gold shimmer and pink/purple flecks of shimmer. This is a favorite for me, you know me...I love an interesting green! The formula was great, much more opaque than I expected it to be! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Hematite is a grey metallic shimmer. The way this dries it almost looks matte, but it's not! The formula was fantastic, it was super opaque and nearly a 1 coater! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Last Call is a blackened violet base with blue/purple/pink shifting glitter. This is another favorite, especially in lower lighting! In bright lighting it was super glowy and in the shade the duochrome glitter came to life! The formula was really nice, the consistency and opacity were great. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Nefarious Aquarius is a green leaning teal with a subtle holo. The holo was a bit stronger in person but it's not too in your face. The formula was perfection, it was creamy and easy to apply. I used 1 coat for the photos below.

Silver Lining is a blue toned grey base with blue, purple and pink flecks of shimmer. I love how soft this one is on, it feels cozy...like a polish I would want to wear with a comfy sweater or something...is that weird? haha1 The formula was really nice, it was nice and opaque and the consistency was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Smolder is a plummy brown base with a reddish bronze shimmer. This is one of those glowy shimmers that I love, if you like polishes like OPI Germanicure by OPI this is a polish you will love! The formula was really nice, it was creamy and opaque. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Stargazing is a blue jelly base with silver micro glitter. I think this is supposed to be pretty similar to the infamous Essie Starry Starry Night but since I don't own that I'm not sure how close it is. Either way it's beautiful! The formula was great, it was nice and opaque and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Tranquillis is a blackened teal jelly with a strong copper shimmer. YUS! I love this...I love all polishes that look like this. I wish I had this in ever shade ever haha! The formula was good, it was a little patchy on the first coat but perfect with the second. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Maya Cosmetics is available at http://www.maya-cosmetics.com/ each polish retails for $9.50.
