CrowsToes Fall 2013 Better Late Than Never Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Hope you're all having a good weekend so far! Today I have the Fall 2013 Better Late Than Never Collection from CrowsToes for you! This collection is full of gorgeous shimmers and glitters.  Unfortunately one polish will be missing from this post, Indian Summer, it died. I have like the most mickey mouse desk ever (a piece of wood on top of 2 Helmers) and it decided to just crash to the ground a couple weekends ago. Everything went splat on the floor and Indian Summer was the only casualty :(  Needless to say I will be buying a new bottle of Indian Summer as soon as I can find it in stock somewhere. Until then I can tell you that it's beautiful and looks good on everything, including shoes, carpet, other bottles of nail polish, acrylic nail polish racks, bottles of nail polish remover, all over your hands and on sweatpants.

Anyway...check out all the swatches of the surviving polishes after the jump!

Black Widow is a black holo. Not only does this have a gorgeous linear holo but it also has bits of glitter in it. It's hard to see once you build it up to be opaque but if you were to layer this over another shade it would show and I think it would look neat! The formula was good, it was a little patchy on the first coat but perfect with the second. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Dragon in Drag is a glitter topper full of various sizes and shapes of blue, green and gold glitter. This is my favorite of the collection, it looks all under the sea over blue! The formula was a little thick but very glitter dense and easy to apply. I used 1 coat over Misa Winter Bluesy Blues for the photos below.

Green Eyed Lady is a dark blackened green full of shimmer and flakes of gold glitter. This is gorgeous out in the sun but even prettier in lower lighting when you can see the gold flecks of glitter! The formula was good, it was a good consistency but a little patchy on the first coat. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Half Past Yesterday is a sheer purple base loaded with copper shimmer and a sprinkle of copper glitter. Purple and copper is one of my favorite combos (copper and anything, really lol). I love the mix of the shimmer and glitter. This is a bit sheer on it's own so you can layer it or wear it on it's own. I decided to layer it over Quarter Till Today for this post because the base was very close to how that polish looked. I used 2 coats over Quarter Till Today for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Hellhound is a rich magenta shimmer that has a nice golden duochrome. This is another that is gorgeous in the sun and in lower lighting. It's super shimmery in direct lighting then you step into the shade and the duochrome comes out to play, I love it! The formula was good, it was a bit sheer on the first coat but opaque with the second. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Quarter Till Today is a sheer purple with a strong copper shimmer. This reminds me of Clarins 230 but just without the shift in the shimmer. The formula was good, it is sheer but it can be built up to being opaque on it's own. Personally, I'll probably layer it next time I wear it though. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

You Are Here is black and loaded with multi colored shimmer. The shimmer is very apparent in direct sunlight and in lower lighting. The formula was great, it was a nice consistency and super opaque. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Zero is a blue jelly base packed with white, red and iridescent glitter in various sizes and shapes. The formula was a little troublesome, it was chunky due to how much glitter there is in it. This is one you have to go slow with and be patient while applying. This is sheer at first but builds up to being opaque in 3 coats.

Lighting: Shade
Overall I like this collection, my favorites are Half Past Yesterday, Green Eyed lady and Quarter Till Today..I also love Indian Summer even though I didn't get to actually swatch it (it was beautiful in the bottle and on everything else when it broke lol)

  3. LOL! I'm sorry about what happened to Indian Summer, but your comment about it looking good on everything sure made me laugh!

  4. Lighting shade is so gorgeous!

  5. Dragon in Drag is SO SO beautiful! I also love Green Eyed Lady but it reminds me of Zoya Edyta. Wondering how close they really are? Hellbound's a stunner too ♥

Hellbound and Dragon in Drag are two MUST haves in my opinion, lol. And I agree with Kelly, the pictures in the shade are all awesome and it's much easier to see the true nature of the polish :)

  7. Seems like Indian Summer is the "big one" must have of this of course it was the casualty :(
That is a huge bummer, what a mess I bet.

    Happy holidays!!

  8. Wow so much gorgeousauce!!! My favorites are...all of them. Haha, they're just all so amazing! <3 I'm so sorry for your bottle of Indian Summer. R.I.P.
