OPI Mariah Carey Collection Pure 18K Gold & Silver Top Coat

Hi guys! Today I have the 18k Gold & Silver top coat OPI released as part of the Mariah Carey Collection for Holiday 2013. Much like The Man With The Golden Gun from last year's Holiday Collection this polish comes in a collectors box and is LE. This is pretty expensive so I put off picking it up for quite a while, eventually the collector in me was like BUY THE POLISH JEN so I did haha! This is a topper full of 18K gold and silver flake glitter. The flakes are nice and dense but a bit on a small side. There are some bigger pieces floating around but they are sparse. The formula was really nice, it was easy to get a lot of the flakes on the nail and the coverage was good. I used 1 coat over each of my base colors below.

over Misa Foggy Breath at 3am (lighting- sunlight)

over Misa Icy River (lighting- shade)

over Zoya Rue (lighting- shade)

over Zoya Brigitte (lighting- shade)
This top coat retails for $30 and is available wherever OPI is sold including Ulta and Ulta.com!

  4. I'm digging the small pieces, actually. I think that the small flakes look delicate and quite pretty that way! Maybe it's just me though. :)

FYI for anyone who LOVES this-I saw it at Ulta on clearance just yesterday for only $14.99! I know my store had a bunch, so hurry before it's gone & while it's cheaper:)

  6. I wish OPI wouldn't package those leaf polishes in an opaque bottle. I'll pass on their $30 polish for a product that I can actually see!
Great swatches, anyway. Looks like it has nice coverage.

  8. I am so glad I picked this topper up when I did, it looks gorgeous! I've always wanted a white gold one to compliment Gilty, and outside of the one Ninja Polish had for a minute I couldn't find any. This? Is perfect. Thank you for swatching!

  10. Are there 2 versions of Pure? Mine looks more like yours and I also bought Pure on clearance at Ulta but I saw other blogger swatches (which has big flakes and no small ones) and it looks completely different from what I have. It has small flakes that could be passed off as regular glitter if you get what I mean.

  11. They could be small from the bottle being shaken? Thats the only thing I can think of

  13. Gasp! So pretty but way too expensive. I've bought polish sets for less than that. Besides, I can't go about falling for every faux gold-leaf top coat.

  14. I missed out on The Man With The Golden Gun last year and kept kicking myself. I would prefer this one to have the larger flakes, so I won't be splurging this time.
