Saturday Spam: Formula X Pt. II

Happy weekend! Today I have a big bunch of Formula X Spam for you! Since my last Formula X post I have continued to go nuts and buy ALL THE THINGS so I have ohhh like 25 polishes to share with you. Most of these are from their Twenty Two set so I guess that only counts as one purchase...right? I had my eye on the Twenty Two set since these first showed up online, originally I decided against it because I kind of loathe mini's but then I got a mini as a 100 point perk and they are decent so that enabled me to buy the set during the Friends & Family sale. I think the set is actually kind of a great deal, you get so many polishes, it's the perfect way to try out a lot of the brand and there are a ton of different finishes and shades in the set. I also have a couple more full size polishes that I got during the VIB sale a couple weeks ago.

Check out all the photos after the jump, this post is on the picture heavy side so load time might be a little bit slower than normal.

Also, a few of the polishes from the Twenty Two set I already had and have already posted so I'm just copy/pasting what I said before...you're not having Deja Vu...I'm just lazy :)

Bionic is pastel lime green glitter and black glitter. I can't help but be drawn to all of these, any kind of glitter mixed with black is something I will like unless the formula is crap. The formula of Bionic was great, it wasn't thick but the glitter was super dense and easy to get onto the nail with good coverage. I used 1 coat over Essie Parka Perfect for the photos below.

Brazen is a light pink creme. The formula was a bit troublesome on this one, it was pretty opaque but on the streaky side, I had issues with it not wanting to level out which you can see a little bit on my middle nail in my photos. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Dark Matter is a black creme. Nothing ground breaking here in terms of the color but the formula is good, I used 1 coat for the photos below.

Eureka is a fuchsia pink creme. The formula was really nice on this one, nice and creamy, easy to apply etc.. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Extraordinary is a light grey creme. The formula was good on this one also, it was nice and opaque and I had no issues with it being streaky. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Flashy is a red creme. This was a little bit on the sheer side and I could faintly see visible nail line after 2 coats but I have that problem a lot with reds so it doesn't bother me too much. Other than that the formula was good! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Haphazard is a purple crelly. Sephora calls this a neon but I don't really think it is, it ends up being too dark to be a neon in my opinion. I love this one, I am a sucker for a good vivid purple and this fits the bill. It's great on it's own and I think it will work nicely for jelly sandwiches also. The formula was good, it was a bit sheer and patchy on the first coat but it builds up and evens out without any problems. I used 3 coats plus top coat for my photos.

Indelible is a dusty purple creme. This was a touch darker in person, my camera was having issues with it for some reason. The formula was fantastic, it was super opaque and a breeze to apply. I used 1 coat for the photos below.

Infatuated is a light blue creme. The for the was good, it did have some issues with being streaky on the first coat but it was fine on the second coat. This was much more opaque than I expected also, I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Jolt is a shimmery neon pink. The shimmer in this is a bit duochromatic, shifting between blue and purple. Sorry but I cannot get enough of these shimmery neons, I love them all. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque, I had no issues with application. This does dry matte, I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Meteoric is black and white glitter in a clear base. There is also a polish called Chaotic in the Formula X line that is very similar. The only slight difference is that Meteoric has a nice sprinkle of holo shimmer so it's a little more interesting depending on what you layer it over. The formula was good, it was nice and glitter dense without being thick. I used 1 coat over Radioactive for the photos below.

Need For Speed is s silver chrome. I don't like this, sorry. Chrome finishes are my least favorite finish, I just think they are a hassle and not worth the effort it takes to get them to look good. The formula was ok, it was nice and opaque but it shows brush strokes and can be difficult to apply because of how quickly it dried. I used 2 coats for the photos below. Both photos below are in the shade.

Omni is a blue creme. I'm sure I have a few polishes like this but I don't even care...I will always love blues like this. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Out of Sight is a gold shard glitter topper. I don't typically like shard glitter very much but I don't know...I just couldn't resist this one. I am such a sucker for all the stuff they put in those little boxes that are along the line for the registers. The formula was good, it wasn't thick and the glitter payoff was great. I didn't have issues with the shard glitter sticking up but that can happen with this type of glitter. I used 1 coat over Haphazard for the photos below, all photos are in the shade.

Racy is a grey/silver/lilac chrome. I have the same meh feeling for this as I did for Need For Speed. The formula was ok, it was on the thick side but the opacity was great. I used 1 coat for the photos below, both photos are in the shade.

Radioactive is a green neon. The formula was good but a little bit on the sheer side. It was easy to build and not streaky. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Rocket Fuel is a dusty green chrome. This is the only one of the chrome shades in the Twenty Two set that I don't really mind...maybe because it's green? The formula was tricky, it was a little thick and it dried so quickly that if you went over a spot twice it would drag off the first stroke of polish. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in the shade.

Thrilling is a light beige creme. This is kind of a putty color, I liked it because it reminded me of a more beige version of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I figured it would be good for layering plus I wanted to try the a lighter shade to see how the formula was. The formula was good, it was a really nice consistency and easy to apply. It was a little bit streaky on the first coat but the second coat evened everything out nicely. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Turbo is a neon yellow shimmer. The shimmer is mostly yellow but at extreme angles it flashed a little bit green also. This can be worn on it's own easily, I layered it for the photos below. I used 2 coats over Zap, these 2 paired together perfectly. The formula was good, I had no application issues. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Turbulent is black and blue glitter in a clear base. You guys know how I feel about these kinds of glitters, I love all of them lol! The formula was good, the glitter payoff was great and it wasn't thick. I used 1 coat over Flashy for the photos below.

Unmistakeable is a light blue/green creme. This is similar to Infatuated but it's a little darker and leans much more green. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque but a little bit streaky at first. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Vroom is a dark golden/copper chrome. Another meh for me...not sure why Sephora felt the need to inclue so many chromes in the Twenty Two sent :( The formula was difficult, it was thick and lumpy, I found it very hard to work with...patience was a virtue with this one. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in the shade.

Wham! is white glitter in a clear base. I was pretty excited about this one, I've been looking for a good white glitter. I have a couple indies like this but the formula's didn't thrill me so I'm always on the lookout for better versions. Luckily this one was pretty great so I think my white glitter search is over. The glitter payoff and application were both great1 I used 1 coat over Picture Polish Love for the photos below.

White Matter is a white creme. The formula was good, it was a little streaky on the first coat but opaque and evened out with the second coat. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Zap is a neon yellow. The formula was ok, it was sheer and slightly streaky. This one is best layered over white because even after 4 coats I could see visible nail line. I used 4 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Formula X is available at Sephora and on Sephora.com!
