My ULTA Holiday Wish List and Gift Guide

Hi guys! Today I have a bit of a different post for you, it's my ULTA Holiday Wish List and Gift Guide. I've never done a gift guide here on The PolishAholic but I got the opportunity to team up with Ulta so I thought it would be fun to give you guys ideas if you are trying to find a good gift for a friend or family member along with showing you some of the items I picked up from my personal wish list.

Ulta is a favorite store for me, I have quite a few locations near me and visit often. I love shopping at Ulta because they have such a huge range of products and brands ranging from drugstore items to high end brands. It's kind of a one stop shop for whatever kind of beauty product you're looking for.

Clarisonic Mia 2 in Pacific Sunset, the Clarisonic has been a long time member of my personal wish list. I picked up the Mia 2 in the color Pacific Sunset, it comes with a travel case, a charger and a nice sized sample of the Clarisonic Refreshing Gel Cleanser. I have struggled with problem skin for as long as I can remember, the Clarisonic is great for cleansing your skin and they make different brushes so you can use whatever works best for you. This is on the pricey side so it's something I'd either splurge on for myself or buy for a close friend or family member. I've been using the Mia 2 below for about a week and I feel like I can already see a huge difference with  my skin!

Clarisonic replacement brush head. If you are buying for someone who already owns a Clarisonic I think replacement brush heads would probably be an awesome stocking stuffer. I've really been liking the brush made for Acne since I tend to get hormonal breakouts, but they have a bunch of different brush heads to choose from!

Deborah Lippmann Christmas In The City is a holiday set that contains 3 full sized festive polishes. I saw this on a trip to Ulta a few weeks back and immediately added it to my wish list. I have always liked Deborah Lippmann polishes and this set is the perfect gift for the nail enthusiast in your life. I don't think anyone would be upset if Santa brought them this set!

Let It Snow! is a silvery white frost with a little bit of golden shimmer. This is not quite as frosty as it looks in the photos. The formula was good, it was sheer but easily build able. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade
Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree is a black base with multi sized red and green glitter. This is the star of the trio for me, I love how the base is nice and opaque but it's not so opaque that it hides the glitter at all. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade
Run Run Rudolph is a beautiful red with fleck like glitter. The glitter in this is on the subtle side but in the right lighting you can see it shifting a bit between red and gold. I think it's a nice twist on the typical red polish for the holidays. The formula was fantastic, it was super opaque and the consistency was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Lorac Pro Palette. This is a palette that has been on my wish list since it first came out. I am a big lover of neutral eyeshadow and this palette is full of them. This has 8 matte shades and 8 shimmers, there is a nice variety of typical neutrals mixed with darker, more vampy shimmers...you can really create any kind of look with this. On top of that the quality of the shadows is great, I've been playing with this for the last few days and all of the shadows have great pigmentation and are easy to work with. If you are buying for someone who loves the Urban Decay Naked Palettes this would be a great pick for them...or yourself!

Marc Jacobs Honey this fragrance has notes of pear, juicy mandarin, orange blossom, peach nectar, apricot, honeysuckle, honey, golden vanilla and smooth woods. It's floral and a touch fruity without being too sweet. I personally have always been a fan of Marc Jacobs fragrances, we won't get into how many bottles of his signature fragrance I've gone through over the years! Not only does Honey smell great, but how cute is the bottle?!?

I don't know about you guys but fragrances are one of my favorite things to receive as a gift, since they can be pricey they are usually not something I pick up for myself . I also really love giving perfumes as gifts, for years one of my Christmas gifts to my Grandmother has been perfume!

OPI Top This OPI has a lot of great sets for the holidays that you can find at Ulta, it was hard to pick just 1 to feature in this post but I decided to go with the Top This trio. This full sizes trio comes with OPI's standard top coat, a gorgeous silver and holographic glitter top coat called Snowflakes In The Air and OPI's new Matte Top Coat. I picked this set to include in this post because of how versatile it is, you can create so many different looks with the 3 polishes in this set, everything from glitter gradients to mattifying a manicure to extend the life of it for a few days. If you have a friend or family member that is just starting to dip their toes into doing their nails I think this would be a great gift or stocking stuffer.

For the photos below I used 1 coat of Snowflakes In The Air over OPI Vision Of Love. The first photo is with a coat of OPI's top coat and the second photo is with OPI's Matte Top Coat.

Real Techniques Core Collection Ulta carries the full line of Real Techniques brushes, I picked the Core Collection set to include in this post because the 4 brushes in it are some of my favorites. The brushes in this set are synthetic and cruelty free, these are the brainchild of Sam from Pixiwoo. Not only are all of their brushes great quality and super soft but they are very affordable and perfect for everyone no matter what their makeup skill level is. These would make a great stocking stuffer!

The brushes included in the core collection are (from left to right in the photo below)
  • Contour Brush, I use this brush for highlighter...it's one of my favorite brushes in the Real Techniques line!
  • Pointed Foundation Brush, this is the classic foundation brush. I don't personally use this type of brush for applying foundation but I actually quite like this for blending out concealer...that's not what it's meant for but I'm a rebel!
  • Detailer Brush,  this can be used for several things like lipstick or concealer. I use it with concealer when I need to cover up a problem area or a bit of hyper pigmentation.
  • Buffing Brush, this is another one of my favorite Real Techniques brushes. I use this to apply foundation. It gives a flawless finish and blends the foundation so nicely. I have 3 or 4 of these in my brush stash!

Smashbox Wondervision Lip Gloss Set. I think this set would be a great stocking stuffer for any of the ladies in your life. It contains 5 glosses, 3 that can be built up to being opaque and 2 that are gorgeous shimmery glosses. I didn't find these sticky and they smelled like vanilla. I like them because they are versatile, you can wear them sheer or easily build them up depending on the look you're going for.

The Body Shop Chocolate & Nut Mini Body Butter Trio, this trio contains 3 1.69 oz containers of The Body Shop's Body Butters in the scents Coconut, Shea and Chocolate. Ulta has a few different sets from The Body Shop but these scents sounded the most yummy to me! These would make a great stocking stuffer or gift for pretty much anyone, the set below is actually going to be a gift for my Dad for Christmas this year! I also love giving these types of sets to co-workers and my supervisors for Christmas, they are relatively inexpensive and most people like good smelling bath & body products. These smell divine and the body butters are super rich and moisturizing!

The New Black Demi Lovato Shattered Trio The New Black recently teamed up with Demi Lovato to release several sets. Demi Lovato is a big nail art fan so when I heard about this collaboration I was pretty excited. The sets she came out with are fun and include everything from studs to micro beads and more. I picked up the Shattered Trio for this post. It comes with a black creme, a gold shard glitter and square gold studs. This is another item that would be a great stocking stuffer especially if you have a sibling/child/friend that is a Demi Lovato fan!

Below is how I wore the Shattered Trio. I used 1 coat of the black polish on each nail then topped my index and pinky nail with the gold shard glitter and topped it with OPI's Matte Top Coat. For the Middle and Ring finger I added one of the gold square studs by dabbing a little bit of top coat onto my nail then sticking on the stud!

Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette The Vice 2 palette is 20 gorgeous shadows and a double ended brush in a beautiful and sleek case. I love the packaging of this palette, sometimes Urban Decay palettes can be big and bulky but Vice 2 is compact and sleek. I love the huge mirror and the range of shadows in here is great. This is the kind of gift I would get for one of my besties, all of my friends are into makeup like I am and I know they would love this kind of gift!
