Saturday Spam: Lacquer Lust

Hi guys! Anyone doing anything fun this weekend? Can you believe it's the last weekend of 2013?!? I sure can't! I don't know what I'm doing, maybe making a list of resolutions for 2014...I'm actually going to try to stick to them for a change. The big one on my list is staying debt free, I literally just paid off all my debt this week (which I never thought would happen!). I'm determined to keep it that way, in a perfect world I'd put all my money into savings and then buy a condo/townhouse/house in the next year or so. Wouldn't that be amazing, hopefully I can do it!

Today I have a little bit of Lacquer Lust spam for ya. I picked these all up at Love Preview. I wish you could have seen me shopping at the Lacquer Lust booth, I basically bought everything I didn't already have. The lighting was so bad that I couldn't even see what they looked like lol. Luckily everything is gorgeous, which I'm not surprised about because Jo makes great polishes!

Butt Bootie Naked is a nude holo. I've been lusting after this for a long while, and it does not disappoint! The holo is subtle but easily visible in sunlight. The formula was great, it was a good consistency and the opacity was really nice. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

From Dusk Till Dawn is a light pink to lavender thermal polish with a gorgeous shimmer. The color transition on me wasn't much...but you can see it a little bit in the photos with the light purple at the tips of my nails. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Holy Grail is a blue to magenta duchrome with a touch of holo in the sun. The formula was good, this is on the sheer side and it's meant to be layered over a base color. I used 2 coats over Nails Inc Black Taxi for the photos below!

Lemming is a blue to purple duochrome with a hint of holo. At extreme angles this also shifts to magenta and gold! The formula was good, this is sheer on it's own and meant to be layered over a base color. I used 2 coats over Nails Inc Black Taxi for the photos below.

Lusty Loon is a green to purple duochrome with a touch of holo. The shift in this was much more evident in person, there was a really pretty rusty red that it was shift to but my camera just couldn't seem to capture it. The formula was good, like the 2 previous polishes it is sheer and meant to be layered. I used 2 coats over Nails Inc Black Taxi for the photos below.

Penny For Your Thoughts is a golden holo. Rainbow everywhere...totally gorgeous polish! I was like :O when I stepped out into the sun with this on! The formula was good, it was nice and opaque and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Poseiden's Envy is a teal to blue thermal with iridescent micro glitter. The transition on this one wsn't very strong on me, even sticking my hand in the freezer and in cool and hot water didn't really lead to much of a shift in color :( The formula was good, it was a bit sheer at first but it builds up to being completely opaque easily in 3 coats.

Sorry To Burst Your Bubble is a pink jelly base with neon pink, white, and iridescent glitter in various sizes. This also has a slight bubblegum scent once it dries, the scent was very subtle and not overpowering at all. I think you could work this up to being opaque but I decided to layer it. I used 2 coats over Bellisimo Portofino Pink. The glitter was a bit sparse but I liked how it ended up looking.

Shade

Un-Teal We Meet Again is a teal holo. This one is crazy holo, more than it's showing in photos. I wore this for nearly a week straight after I got it and got so many compliments, it's gorgeous! The formula was great, it was easy to apply and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

  2. Gorgeous holos! That teal one looks very similar to Avon's Celestial. You once did a fantastic post on them, can you compare the two (if not on the nails at least compare them side by side in the bottles?) Will definitely look into getting the gold one, love it! Great post! :)

  3. I haven't put them side by side but the holo is pretty different. The Avon ones were all on the subtle side and the holo was scattered. The one is much more apparent and the holo is linear
