China Glaze On The Horizon Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have the China Glaze On The Horizon Collection to share with you. China Glaze has hopped aboard the tiny bar glitter train and is releasing their own collection of "feather effect" polishes. When I walked into my local beauty supply a couple weeks ago to get nail polish remover the owner went back and grabbed these for me since they had just gotten them in, I hadn't really heard much about them prior to actually buying them so it was a nice surprise! We've seen this kind of effect already from Nails Inc and Sally Hansen yet somehow I am still excited about these..so far these are my favorite of any of the feathered polishes, the color combs are the most up my alley! Check out swatches & reviews of each after the jump!

Sephora X Disney Ariel Collection Whatcha-Nail-Callit Mini Set Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have the mini set that Sephora recently released as part of their Disney Ariel Collection. Ever since Sephora started doing these Disney Collections I have been waiting and waiting for Ariel to get her collection. The mini set for the polish is done with Sephora's new house brand...Sephora X. I was excited to try out the Sephora X mini's, I was pretty impressed with the regular Sephora X polishes I picked up back when they launched them and these minis looked beautiful in promo shots! In addition to this mini polish set there are also a couple eye shadow palette's, lipglosses, a mirror and a fragrance in the Ariel Collection. I haven't picked any of those up yet...you guys have to let me know if they are any good so I can justify buying them now haha!

piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2013

Hi guys! Tonight I have a special post for you for the piCture pOlish 2013 Blog Fest! I'm sure a lot of the blogs you guys read will be posting these today, I think it's such a fun thing for our nail community. I love seeing all the nail art people come up with and reading everyone's posts! I have 3 colors from piCture pOlish to share with you along with a fun nail art look and a quick tutorial for how I did the nail art.

I decided to try some nail art I've never done for this...the saran wrap method. This technique is actually really easy, I'm not sure why I took so long to try it out! I used Whimsy for my base and Violet Femme and Hot Lips over top. I LOVE the way this turned out and it's safe to say I'm not obsessed with this method...it was so easy! This kind of looked like girly camo in person! If you want to know how I created this look check out the very end of the post for a quick and easy tutorial!

Dance Legend Exotic Fruit Litchi & Kivano

Hi guys, hope you all had a good weekend. My weekend was pretty crappy, unfortunately. On Saturday night I noticed Degen's foot was bleeding and thought he cut it so I took him to the vet on Sunday afternoon since it looked like something might have been stuck in the cut . Turns out his cut is actually a cyst and he has to be put under and have it removed with a laser and then sent off to be tested to see if it cancerous...awesome. So yeah...my weekend was no bueno. Now I have to magically find about $1000 and deal with the stress of the whole surgery ordeal. The only good thing is that it doesn't seem to be painful for Degen, he isn't limping and he doesn't freak out when I clean it and put on the antibiotics. I can't deal with Degen being sick, I don't know how those of you with kids do it...I'd make myself sick with with worrying.

Anyway, today I have the last 2 polishes from the Exotic Fruit Collection from Dance Legend to share with you. I posted the other 4 a little while back (check out that post here), for some reason I set these aside and didn't swatch them with the other 4...I didn't figure it out until after I had already posted the others haha!

952 Litchi is a coral-y pink jelly back with various sizes/shapes of black glitter. This was much bright on the nail and in person than it looks in photos. The formula was good, it was a little on the thick side but very easy to apply. The opacity was great, I used 2 coats for the photos below. Both photos are in natural sunlight.

955 Kivano is a bright neon green jelly with various sizes/shapes of black glitter. This one is pretty blindingly green which is always a positive thing in my book...add black glitter and you really can't go wrong! The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the opacity was great. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in natural sunlight.

Dance Legend is available at http://www.dance-legend.com/en/, it looks like their official website is closed until September but you can still find their polishes at several etailers like Llarowe and Ninja Polish in the meantime. For a full list of Dance Legend etailers all over the world check out the Dance Legend website I linked above.

Dance Legend TermoTRIO Collection Swatches

Happy Friday! Anyone have big plans this weekend? I'm going to the OC Fair to see Save Ferris, I guess it's just the singer and some other random guys but whatevs. Save Ferris was one of the bands I loved back in the day but was too young to ever go see them live...then they broke up. It should be a good time!

Today I have Dance Legend's TermoTRIO polishes to share with you, there are currently 2 polishes in this collection and they are color changing polishes that shift 3 colors! I don't think I've ever had any polishes like this that changed more than 2 colors. These change with body heat so if your nails are on the shorter side the effect might not be as cool for you. I found that these didn't change as dramatically as the other color changing polishes I've tried from Dance Legend, most of the time my nails were just one color. The only time I really saw all 3 colors at one time was in the mornings walking about to my car when it was cold out and I was carrying my morning coffee which would warm up my fingers. For the photos in this post I stuck my hand in the freezer haha!I still really like these, and the formula on both was nice and easy to work with.I found that they were very opaque and I had no issues with them being streaky.

I used 2 coats for each polish below, all photos are in natural sunlight. These do dry to a satin matte finish (which you can see in the first 2 photos). I found that top coat actually helped the color shift last longer!

No. 1 shifts from light blue when warm to pink and violet.

No .3 shifts from grey when warm to pink and dark purple. I wore this for a few days and really enjoyed it. I did have some issues with this being a bit chippy, so not the best wear time unfortunately.

Nails Inc Concrete Effect: Stonehenge

Hi guys! Today I have a quick post for you of a polish I recently bought...and fell in love with. I've been waiting for ages for Sephora to get the Nails Inc Concrete Effect polishes in stock and when they finally did I went and snatched this one right up. The Concrete Effect polishes are creamy textures, it's not as subtle as the Nails Inc Leather Effect polishes but not as in your face as the China Glaze Texture Collection...if that makes any sense.

Sephora currently has 3 shades of these online, I'm not sure if there are more or not, I only ended up picking up Stonehenge since I wasn't sure if I would like it or not. Stonehenge is pretty much like the texture version of Baker Street. Baker Street is hands down my favorite blue of all time so I couldn't pass up a textured version of it. The formula was great, it was super opaque and you could get away with one coat if you tend to do your layers on the thicker side. I used 2 coats for the photo below, the photo is in overcast natural sunlight

Apologies for only 1 photo, in case you don't follow me on Instagram and don't know...I broke a nail on my swatching hand pretty badly a couple weeks ago. I filed all of my nails down to match so they are all nubbins. I don't really care for how my nails look this short so I just didn't like most of my photos of this. Anyway...hope you all like this polish as much as I do!

Nails Inc Concrete Effect polishes are available in the US at Sephora and on Sephora.com, not sure if these have made it to the actual stores yet but they are online!

Color Secrets Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have an insanely overdue post for you guys of a new to me brand called Color Secrets. I picked up these polishes back in January at ISSE (International Salon & Spa Expo), I've had them swatched and sitting in my drafted posts for months...not really sure why I've never gotten around to posting them until now!

Color Secrets is a local brand to me, they are based out of Southern California and all of their polishes are 3 free and vegan. My favorite thing about these is the price...each polish is only $2.99 on their website (cheap polish, yeah buddy!). Each polish from Color Secrets is named after a movie which I think is fun also, considering I'm guilty of buying things based solely on their name that sort of thing could actually be bad for my bank account.

Check out swatches & reviews of each shade after the jump!

Dance Legend Termo Shine Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have the Termo Shine Collection from Dance Legend to share with you! The Termo Shine Collection is made up for 4 glitter filled color changing polishes. All 4 polishes are temperature changing the the change is pretty dramatic! Our of all of the Dance Legend color changing polishes I've tried so far these are my favorite! These are the first polishes like this that I've owned with glitter in them, I know some indies make similar polishes but I've never gotten around to buying any...now I kind of want them all haha! Check out the swatches after the jump!

Lac Attack Cherry Blossom Bloom

Hi guys, hope you all had a good weekend! Mine was nice, I had a bunch of nail stuff planned but then the weather decided to suck so I pretty much just relaxed. I may or may not have watched Buffy The Vampire Slayer on the SyFy channel for 7 hours yesterday...

Today I have Cherry Blossom Bloom from Lac Attack to share with you. This came out as part of her Spring collection and it's full of small white glitter, white rectangle glitter and pink circle glitter. I love the mix of glitter, especially that circle glitter! The formula was good, I dabbed the glitter on and had no issues. I used1 coat over Nicole by OPI Pink Neon for the photos below, both photos are in natural sunlight.

Lac Attack is available at http://lacattack.com, Cherry Blossom Bloom retails for $8

Degen's July 2013 BarkBox

Happy Friday! Today I have Degen's July BarkBox to share with you! If' you've never seen one of these posts from me BarkBox is a monthly sample box full of dog goodies! Degen was pretty darn excited about this box. He snuck outside right as I was getting ready to take photos and tried to eat most of the box before I could snap my pictures! Check out all of the goodies Degen got this month after the jump!

A England Love Is Enough & Excalibur (new version)

Hi guys! I almost said TGIF but then I realized it's only Thursday :( wishful thinking... haha! Today I have a couple more new A England polishes to share with you. A England recently added another polish to their Heavenly Quotes Collection, they also put out a new version of Excalibur.

Excalibur is a silvery gold foil. The older version of Excalibur was much more silver and the finish was a bit more of a frost (judging by photos since I don't own it!). I really like the new version, it applied nicely and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Sunlight

Lighting: Sunlight

Lighting: Shade

Love Is Enough is a blackened olive green with a golden shimmer. The polish is actually pretty complex, there are a lot of different colors of shimmer in here that all come together to give that blackened olive look. It reminds me a lot of Zoya FeiFei, they are obviously different color wise but they have the same feel to them. If you like one you'll most likely also like the other. The formula was good, it was a little sheer on the first coat but the opacity was easy to build and I only ended up needing 2 coats.

Love Is Enough and the new version of Excalibur are both available now, due to shipping restrictions if you live in the US you can't order these direct from a-england anymore, but there are a ton of etailers that sell them including Llarowe, Nail Polish Canada, Ninja Polish and more. There are also other etailers all over the world, for a full list check out the a-england website here.

Nails Inc Clerkenwell

Hi guys! Today I have one of the newer Nails Inc Leather Effects polishes called Clerkenwell to share with you guys! I picked this up from Sephora a while back and wore it for a few days then totally forgot to post it!

Clerkenwell is an off white polish. The Leather Effect polishes are a creamy type of texture finish but the texture if much more subtle than most of the other creamy textured polishes, I prefer the look of this to similar creamy textures from other brands. This isn't for everyone but I can't seem to get enough of the Leather Effects, when I went to Sephora a couple weeks back I ended up getting all the others they had in stock haha! The formula of Clerkenwell was really nice, it was nice and opaque and not streaky at all. Dry time was good, I also got good wear out of this...I had it on for 4 days before removing it and had no issues with chipping. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in the shade so that you could actually see the texture (the sun was washing it out in photos)

Nails Inc is available in the US at Sephora and on Spehora.com!

Nfu Oh 65

Hi guys! Today I have Nfu Oh 65 to share with you! When I first got into polish Nfu Oh was like the brand for epic holos, I remember being on email waiting lists from Fabuloustreet trying to get them and I never got around to buying 65 for some reason. I finally got my paws on 65 thanks to  the lovely Ninja Polish who now carries the brand!

65 is a light blue linear holo. The formula is tricky, you need to use an aqua base or else it is just too much of a hassle as it's prone to balding and dragging. I used 3 coats for the photos below, this was so much more holo in person than it's coming across in photos! All photos below are in natural sunlight and without top coat.

Nfu Oh is available a few places now, my bottle came from Ninja Polish. You can also find them at Fabuloustreet and Nail Polish Canada!

Dance Legend Thermo 170

Hi guys! Hope you all had a great weekend, mine was nice! Usually on the weekends I do a ton of blog stuff but since I broke a nail pretty badly last week on my swatching hand I literally did nothing this weekend, it was kind of refreshing.

Today I have one of the Dance Legend Thermo polishes to share with you, this one is number 170.  There are a few different lines of color changing polishes that Dance Legend does, this one is just the normal ones, no glitter or anything like that. The Dance Legend Thermo polishes shift with body heat so depending on how warm/cold your hands are the color will change. 170 shifts from a dark red to nearly black, the color shift is pretty strong and on me most of the time it looked like how it looks below. The formula was good, it was nice and opaque and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below, all photos are in natural sunlight.

Dance Legend polishes are available at http://www.dance-legend.com/ these do come from Russia so if you order direct from them shipping can (and probably will) take a while. You can also find Dance Legend at Ninja Polish and Llarowe.

Sephora by OPI Come To Pappa-razzi!

Happy Friday! Anyone have big plans this weekend? For once I actually do lol!  Tonight I'm going up to LA to go see a one of my favorite bands, Say Anything. Then either Saturday or Sunday I'm going to trek over to the Orange County Fair. I don't like the fair rides or anything but I like walking around and eating all the awful (but delicious) food. I always like seeing what weird things they try to fry each year.

Today I have Sephora by OPI Come To Pappa-razzi! to share with you! I picked this up when I went to get the newest Beautifully Disney polishes, there is a Sephora at Downtown Disney so it was convenient. I had heard that all the Sephora by OPI polishes were half off (they must be doing away with the line or something). I only ended up getting this one, for me that is kind of amazing that there was a half off sale and I only walked away with 1 polish haha!

Come To Pappa-razzi! is a glitter top coat packed with black, gold and copper glitter. I'm kind of surprised I didn't already own this to be honest, it's right up my alley. The formula was good, not thick and it had good glitter payoff. I used 1 coat over Beautifully Disney Get Tangled Up for the photos below.

Sephora by OPI polishes are available at Sephora stores and Sephora.com, you  may want to grab what you want now since they seem to be getting rid of the line.

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat: Royal Icing

Hi guys! Today I have one of the Sally Hansen Sugar Coat polishes to share with you! I saw a display of these a while back at Target and they didn't interest me since they were the creamy textures. I went to Walgreens last week and saw a new display that had a few glittery ones. Royal Icing is the one that immediately stood out to me, I wasn't planning on getting any polish on that trip but I just couldn't pass this one up!

Royal Icing is a light blue base with hints of duochromatic purple to gold shimmer.  It kind of reminds me of Sinful Colors Cinderella, but way more awesome because it's a texture and I like these types of textures! Texture wise it's very much in the same vein as the Zoya PixieDust polishes, it's very fine and it doesn't feel like sandpaper on the nail.

Formula wise I was a little disappointed, this was sheer like whoa. I tried 4 coats at first and it was still sheer enough to see visible nail line, it also wasn't reaching the color you see in the bottle on its own. I ended up taking it off and layering it to help the opacity. Over white this is pretty much awesome, and exactly what I wanted it to be. I used 2 coats over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the photos below, all photos are without top coat. It looked pretty much the same with top coat so I didn't end up taking photos of it that way. I can't even tell you guys how much better this looked in person, the shimmer just wasn't translating on camera as pretty as it was in person!

Lighting: Sunlight

Lighting: Sunlight

Lighting: Shade
Royal Icing is available now, I've only seen the display at Walgreens so I'm not sure if other drugstores have these yet. I know my local Target still only has the first collection on shelves, I hope they get these though...I might pick up the other glittery ones!

A England Briarwood

Hi guys! Today I have A England Briarwood to share with you! This is the final polish in the newest A England Burne-Jones Dream Collection. Briarwood is a dark vampy red with a subtle holo. I love the vampy-ness to this, it's such a pretty shade of red when the sun hits it but you can still see the blackened edges. Depending on the angle of your hand it can almost look all blackened which I also liked. I can't think of anything quite like this in my collection! The formula was flawless as per usual with A England. I used 1 coat and a coat of CND Air Dry for the photos below, all photos are in natural sunlight.

Briarwood is available now, due to shipping restrictions if you live in the US you can't order these direct from a-england anymore, but there are a ton of etailers that sell them including Llarowe, Nail Polish Canada, Ninja Polish and more. There are also other etailers all over the world, for a full list check out the a-england website here.

Beautifully Disney Unlock The Spell Collection Mini Set Swatches

Hi guys, hope you all had a good weekend! Today I have swatches of the mini set from the newest Beautifully Disney Collection called Unlock The Spell. This is the second collection that Beautifully Disney has put out and it focuses on Tiana from Princess and the Frog, Belle from Beauty and the Beast and Rapunzel from Tangled. In addition to nail polish I believe they also released a lipgloss for each princess, an eyeshadow palette and a set of brushes. I didn't end up picking up anything else but they all looked pretty!
Check out the swatches & reviews of each polish after the jump!

Nails Inc Beaded Polish: Covent Garden

Hey guys! Today I have one of the new Nails Inc Beaded Polishes to share with you guys. This shade is called Covent Garden and it's a light blue. The Beaded Polish Collection from Nails Inc is made up of 4 shades in total, they are meant to give a 3D beaded and glitter nail texture according to the Sephora website. Basically they are like what you would get if you mixed one of the creamy textured polishes with a ton of glitter.

Now, I had heard some not so good things about these on twitter but I decided to go buy one anyway...I'll try anything once. Well guys, this is pretty yuck-tastic. I like textured nail polish but this is just...no. I can't even describe, just look at the pictures, it was worse looking in person. Aside from looking like a  hot mess the formula was also pretty awful. It was thick and lumpy...hard to apply etc. It is what I imagine it would be like trying to apply cottage cheese to your nails. The only positive thing I can say is that it was very opaque so I only needed 1 coat, which is good because I don't think I could have done another anyway.

I love Nails Inc, I feel like in the past couple of years they have been ahead of the trends and releasing polishes I have been very excited about so I guess they are allowed 1 miss every now and then haha! I've heard that the black Beaded Polish is somewhat ok but I don't think I'll be running out to pick it up.

Nails Inc Beaded Polish is available at Sephora and on Sephora.com in the US/Canada.
