Emily de Molly Oceanic Forces

Hi guys! Today I have Emily de Molly Oceanic Forces to share with you. This was on my wish list for ages and I kept missing restocks for it so it was a nice surprise when it was included in a package of samples from Llarowe.

Oceanic Forces is a blue jelly base with holographic turquoise hex glitter and large turquoise holographic circle glitter. The circle glitter is what made me want this, I can't get enough circle glitter! The formula was ok, I had no issues with the jelly base or the hex glitter but the circles were near impossible to get out of the bottle. I had a difficult time with this, I ended up putting the bottle upside down for about 10 minutes and then after some tedious glitter fishing managed to get a few circles out and onto the nail.

I do like this even if the formula left something to be desired. I love the depth it has and how the glitter sparkled through the jelly base. I used 2 coats for my photos below but 3 probably would have been ideal!

Emily de Molly is available at Llarowe, Oceanic Forces retails for $13

Regular sale begins mid-September! This is my first time trying Lacquer Lust and man...I can't believe I had never tried the brand before after swatching these! The Holo Birthstone is made up of 14 holo polishes (1 is a holo flakie!), each polish go with a birthstone and a couple lucky months get 2 polishes.

Check out all the swatches after the jump, this post is picture heavy so load time might be a little bit slower than usual.

OPI Fall 2013 DS Shades: Lapis & Pewter

Hi guys! Today I have 2 new OPI Designer Series Shades for Fall 2013 to share with you! This year OPI is releasing 2 polishes inspired by granite. Both of the 2 new shades are textured polishes, they are glitter packed and dry matte with a slight texture, they can be worn either matte or with top coat if you don't like that look! I found the texture in both of these to be more visible with the eye than to the touch if that makes any sense...they were much more smooth than most of the other textured polishes we've seen this year.

DS Lapis is a deep sapphire blue with silver and blue glitter. This has a nice metallic look to it when it's matte, it also looks super gorgeous with top coat! The formula was on the thick side but I found application easy and it was nice and opaque. This was easily a 1 coater, which is always nice. I ended up doing 2 coats for my photos just to deepen up the sparkle a bit!The photos below are without top coat.

Below is DS Lapis with top coat, I love the way this looks. Top coat got rid of the metallic look of the shade and it has a ton of depth thanks to the mix of glitter OPI used.

DS Pewter is a metallic pewter grey base loaded with different sizes of silver glitter. This was surprisingly smooth once it dried down, I was expecting it to feel very textured due to the amount of glitter in it but that wasn't the case at all. The formula was thick but again, easy to work with and apply. It was easy to get a good amount of glitter onto the brush and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below, the first 3 photos are without top coat.

Below is DS Pewter with top coat, as you can probably tell it deepens up the base color quite a bit and makes it look like more of a grey/black base.

DS Lapis and DS Pewter will be available starting in September at professional salons including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard's, JCPenny Salon, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, Ulta and at Ulta.com. Each DS polish retails for $12.50 ($14.95 CAN).

Jindie Nails Eclectric

Hi guys! Today I have a quick post for you featuring Jindie Nails Eclectric. Eclertric is kind of like a kitchen sink of glitter bombs...there is a bit of everything in here. You can check out the Jindie Nails website here  for a full list, it's a long one!

The formula was pretty thick but I can't say I'm surprised since there is SO much glitter in this. It was easy to get a ton of glitter on the brush which was nice. I found that dabbing this on was best so the glitter didn't clump together. I used 1 coat over LCN Hot Chili for the photos below, both photos are in natural sunlight.

Eclectric should be available from Jindie Nails soon, the price varies depending on where you buy from. You can find Jindie Nails at the following sites:

I have a bunch of the holos along with a couple duochromes and shimmers to share with you today! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

This trio brings us 3 more beautiful shimmers, I seriously LOVE what Carrie does with her shimmers. Nails Inc Denim Effect: Bermondsey

Hi guys, hope you all had a good weekend! Mine was nice, the weather was perfect here so I went to the beach with Degen and enjoyed that for a little while on Saturday afternoon! Today I have another Nails Inc textured polish to share with you called Bermondsey, this is their Denim Effect polish. I picked this up a few weeks back at Sephora, it comes in a set with some studs and retails for $23. I'm not a big nail stud kind of person so those will go unused for me...I wish it was available on it's own for that reason but oh well, clearly that didn't stop me from buying it anyway lol!

The formula on Bermondsey was great, it was a little bit on the thick side but it was very easy to apply and the opacity was perfect. I used 1 coat for the photos below! This dried really quickly which was nice! The finish is what you would get if you mixed a matte metallic shade with the textures we've seen so much this year. This was a little bit more rough than some of the other Nails Inc textures...like the Leather Effect, but it wasn't so rough that it would catch on clothes or anything like that.

I Love Nail Polish Ultra Chrome Collection Swatches & Review

Hey guys, happy Friday! Anyone have big plans this weekend? My only plan is taking Degen to the dog beach since the weather should be nice! Degen is actually kind of terrified of the ocean but I like walking him along the sand...its a good workout for both of us!

Today I have the fantastical new Ultra Chrome Collection from I Love Nail Polish to share with you! These are going on pre-order today at Noon PST, and will be available for regular sale at the beginning of September. For all the pre-order information check out ILNP.com. You can also sign up for a chance to win a set of these here! If you want these I would highly suggest you pre-order them, I have a strong feeling that they will sell like crazy and you don't want to miss out!

The Ultra Chrome Collection is 4 crazy multichromatic polishes. Polishes like these are my weakness, I had to seriously restrain myself from including like 20 photos of each polish in this post. If you like multichromes you will also love these! Check out the swatches after the jump!

OPI Pink of Hearts 2013 Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have OPI's Pink of Hearts set for 2013 to share with you. OPI comes out with a Pink of Hearts polish (or duo) every year to support Breast Cancer Awareness. Usually you can find these in stores around September/October but my local beauty supply already had them out a couple weeks back so I snatched it right up! This year the duo also comes with Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon decals and little crystal decals, I haven't used them yet so they aren't in this post, but they are super cute!

Pink-ing of You is a pink creme. This is a classic OPI, I believe it came out in one of their Soft Shade collections years ago. I had never picked this up before so it's a new addition to my stash. It's a nice flattering shade of pink  that will probably look great on a variety of different skin tones. The formula was good, it was a little patchy on the first coat but I had no other issues. I used 3 coats to even it out, both photos below are in natural sunlight.

More Than A Glimmer is multicolored glitter in a sheer pink base. This dries matte which I thought was fun. You can layer this or wear it on it's own, it is on the sheer side so you'd probably need 3-4 coats that way to get it opaque. The formula was a bit on the thick side but I had no application issues and the glitter payoff was great. I used 1 coat over Pink-ing of You for the photo below, the photo is in the shade.

I don't think the Pink of Hearts 2013 set is available at retailers like Ulta yet (at least I haven't seen it there) but you can get it online places like Amazon!

GlitterDaze Browny Bear & Rainbow Bridge

Hi guys! Today I have 2 special polishes from GlitterDaze to share with you. Sana, the creator of GlitterDaze, made both of these in honor of her dog Browny who passed away unexpectedly from liver cancer a few months ago. All of the proceeds from the sales of both  polishes are donated to the National Canine Cancer Foundation. Sana posted a beautiful blog about Browny and the inspiration behind these polishes here. There are also some really great facts in Sana's post about canine cancer.

When Sana emailed me asking if I would like to review these I jumped at the chance to show them to you guys, not only are these beautiful but the cause they are supporting is one close to my heart. I think you all know what a dog lover I am, lets face it...I like Degen more than I like 99.99% of people lol! I've never had a pet affected by cancer but I have had family members who have and its something that  hits close to home for me. Canine Cancer Research is something I donate to on my own every year, I even take Degen to a Pet Cancer Awareness Walk put on by VPI pet insurance every year.

Browny Bear is brown and white glitter with golden accents, pink hearts and pink microglitter in a clear base. Pink and brown is one of my favorite color combs and I love this. The hearts were easy to get out and onto the nail. The formula was not thick but very glitter dense, I used 1 coat over Inglot 385 for the photos below.

Rainbow Bridge is a multicolored glitter top coat with various sizes and shapes of red, orange, gold, chartreuse, green, blue and purple glitter. It also has silver and gold holographic star glitter throughout. The formula was good, it wasn't thick but it was very glitter dense. You could easily work this up to full opacity on its own if you wanted to wear it that way. I used 1 coat over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the photos below.

Browny Bear and Rainbow Bridge are available at glitterdazenp.com, each polish is $11 and all proceeds will be donated to The National Canine Cancer Foundation.

As a little bonus here are a couple photos of Degen at the VPI Pet Cancer Awareness Walk in Long Beach, CA from a couple years back. If you live near Long Beach, CA or Denver, CO and have a dog (or just want to  support the cause) you should check these walks out, the Colorado walk already happened for 2013 but the Long Beach walk is taking place in November (Degen and I will be there!). It's a fun day supporting a great cause...what's not to love? You can find info about them on VPI's website here

Here is Degen and his friend Heidi, they looked so cute in their bandanas!

Degen also got a belly rub from Heidi's mom, Stacy (I think this was his favorite part of the day)

KBShimmer Celebration Duo: The Grape Beyond & Would Jubilee It? Swatches

Hi guys, hope you all had a good weekend! Mine was nice, I took Degen to the vet to get his foot looked at again and the vet said he no longer needs the cyst on his paw removed...what a relief that is! Today I have a new duo from KBShimmer to share with you, this duo is in celebration of their 5th year anniversary. That's quite a big milestone especially with the kind of economy we've had the last few years! In addition to releasing a fab new duo KBShimmer is also doing a nice 20% off sale on their website (no code needed) until 8/14/13, if you've been lemming anything now is the time to go get them. Aside from polish I really love their lotion also, I have a bottle of it on my desk at work!

The Grape Beyond is a medium purple with turquoise shimmer. This is a matte polish meant to accent the glitter in Would Jubilee It! I love this, I don't have anything like it and it looks beautiful matte and with a nice shiny top coat. The formula was good, it was a little patchy on the first coat but the second coat evened everything out. This dried really quickly which was also nice. I used 2 coats for the photos below, both photos are in natural sunlight.

Would Jubilee It? is a glitter top coat packed with all of Christy's favorite glitters including fuchsia, aqua and silver circle glitter, sapphire and turquoise hex glitter and tiny pieces of fuchsia, aqua and silver bar glitter. I love the mix of glitter and this really looks great over a ton of base colors, you can see it over a few other base colors over on the KBShimmer Facebook! The formula was good, it was very glitter dense without being thick. It was very easy to get a lot of glitter onto the brush and I had no issues applying it. I used 1 coat over The Grape Beyond for the photos below.

Lighting: Sunlight

The Celebration Duo is available at KBShimmer.com now for those of you in the US, if you are outside of the US you can find them at Harlow & Co!
